Great food and outstanding service from Emmanuel. We will be back!
Really good service, lovely atmosphere and super food
Went there with hight expectation. Some of the food was really lack of taste, some confusion with the right wine - wrong bottle first, next one with a cork and the right one almost to be poured in the glasses with the cork-wine. Asked by the waiter if we want more homemade chips with guacamole - but then they charged on the bill. Same with extra tortillas. Leaves a strange feeling. Positive: birthday cake on the house, generally friendly staff.
There was a very noisy group next to us. Made it impossible to talk in the whole section. Maybe a bit of sealing soundproofing can help, you need some mix sometimes between having buzz and it becoming too much...
Great food and drinks, very friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Staff seemed to enjoy themselves but were very professional and attentive at all times. We received a small suprise cake slice, which was a very nice gesture as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We will be back!
Service very disjointed. Music way too loud, hard to converse with dinner companion. Food very disappointing - all style over substance. Not remotely 1* Michelin, am very confused why it attained this rating.
Service for the drinks was too slow
Food was tasty but octopus and pork options too small
Great experience, went for my mums birthday and food was amazing. We had a little issue with the ‘unlimited margaritas’ as we had only been given two in the 90 minutes allotted to them. However they made up for this by extending it and bringing them more frequently after that
Saw this restaurant when the contestants on Masterchef visited to do a service in the kitchen and loved the look of the food. I generally find Mexican food in the UK disappointing but this was absolutely wonderful. The staff are knowledgeable and really friendly. They gave us an evening to remember. The Tres Leches (3 milks) cake is worth going back for alone. Stunning. I will be returning for sure next time I am in London.
I have been twice to Ella Canta and tried many things on the menu and I have mixed feelings. First- the food is beautifully presented, however overall just falls flat. The stand-out is definitely the black bean soup with fois gras..and the beef cheek, but only when they give you the black hot sauce. All the dishes I have tried are nice, but honestly lack the depth that Mexican food should have...I lived in the US for years and was spoilt with the quality of Mexican food and in comparison, Ella Canta just doesn't quite hit the mark. I REALLY wanted to love it..and so did my husband who is quite easy to please..but he was also was a bit underwhelmed.
Final positive notes, the staff are lovely and attentive and margaritas are great. Would return for a drink and a snack..but the search for really good Mexican in London continues..
Amazing food. I loved absolutely everything. The decor, the staff is very friendly and they take the time to explain everything in the menu. I strongly recommend it.
Great food despite the signature dish wasn’t good as the rest (a 38 Pound steak with tortillas - pretty average and hard as a rock)
Good experience, food good. Ambience a little loud but not unpleasant. Service very good.
loved this restaurant - great food, excellent service & wonderful atmosphere.
Not easy to hear your conversation though !
Absolutely delicious food, could not fault the food at all. Service was brilliant although the bottomless drinks are very small and not very strong.
Food was superb, the service is amazing and the margaritas are great.
Friends in town from the USA who have ties to Mexico. We had an incredible birthday brunch experience. The food was delicious & the mains were big portions. The drinks were fantastic as well & the DJ played perfect music to add to the ambiance. The service was impeccable as well.
Really good restaurant, had my first date there. It earned me a few points
Fabulous and exquisite on every level- the food, the ambience and the staff and service - an accolade to them all...a memory making experience I will cherish and will definitely be back again soon
Cramped table but amazing food
Romantic dinner with my wife on the 9th May was ruined by the table I was given.
First off the food was amazing we both had the tasting menu and felt the cost of it was very reasonable.
But her in lies my problem, my bill was over £200 which is not bad for a top end restaurant. But I would not expect to be at a table where the next table is less than 6 inches away ( might of well shared a table)
I’m not joking but it was that close that when the head waitress was explains the menu to the other table her backside was literally in my wife’s face
Most of the tables are well spread out and befitting of the restraint but I was given one in a line of 3 which looked like an after thought. Far too close together right buy the kitchen exit and far less superior to the other tables.
The restarting was not busy as it was early evening so there was no need for it.
So to sum up
Amazing food but the whole experience ruined by the table given to me (honestly I’ve never been on a table that close to another one in any restaurant)
This is a very tasty and authentic high and Mexican restaurant. The food was very delicious. The service was excellent. This is expensive Mexican food but worth it. I highly recommend this dining experience.
Excellent place to dine creative Mexican food in style. Great service!
Lovely place, the Italian Lady on reception was extra nice and friendly and made us all feel very welcome, the waiting staff were very good and the food was delicious
A great experience, the food was great (all chocolate lovers need to try the chocolate sauce with churros), the staff helpful and engaging and the atmosphere just right, quiet and roomy.
We tried the Cinco de Mayo 3-course tasting menu and it was excellent. The cocktail pairings were great as well. The staff was very friendly and made sure to address all our needs. Will definitely be back here for dinner or brunch.
Fairly overpriced restaurant with rather modest food selection. Would not come back.
Nice cocktails and great food. All recommendations of the staff were spot on! Carnitas, sea-bass and the duck were delicious.
I went for dinner on a Friday night with friends. The service was impeccable, attentive but unobtrusive. The food was interesting, nicely presented and delicious. I would definitely go back again. The restaurant is large so the only downside was the area we were in was sparsely populated so the atmosphere could have been better.
Absolutely incredible from beginning to end! The food is outstanding; the depth of flavour, the structure of the dishes and how beautifully they are presented is a credit to Martha so attentive but relaxed. The cocktails were to die for & complemented our brunch fabulously. So much attention to detail at every step of the journey. The icing on the cake: as we mentioned we were a fan of Martha and excited about our reservation, they took us into the kitchen to meet her & the team at the end of our brunch. A wonderful experience we won’t forget! Thank you Ella Canta!
Fantastic food in a superb setting! So lovely to meet Martha too!
Great food, modern innovative menu, staff explained everything in detail.
Would certainly go back again.
I took my mum here for a belated mother’s day present and we visited for brunch. I hate margaritas but “WOW” these margaritas were amazing especially the lavender and salt one. Service was on point and the flavour of the food was something I had never tasted before. The dj was playing a great selection of music . A huge 10/10 I will be coming here again. TIP save room for the Mexican bakery selection for desert. Highlight of the meal!
Thoroughly enjoyed brunch. Excellent food and service.
overall amazing. Needed more spice in my food. (I love spicy food)
Service was super slow! Our table was booked for 1pm with 90 minutes of bottomless brunch but we had no drinks or food for the first half an hour. At 2.30pm we were told that out drinks have finished because we had them for 90 minutes, felt more like 50 minutes. Food was ok but not great
We had been really looking forward to dinner at Ella Canta. The staff were warm and friendly and the Margaritas were excellent.
However, we had clearly stated in the booking that one of the party was vegetarian. Your guacamole was fabulous but you really must not state that this is vegetarian when it has a locust in it. We asked to have this dish without the locust but the second bowl came with one in.
We had also stated on the booking that our booking was for a birthday. Usually there would be some acknowledgement of this. Absolutely nothing.
Finally, you failed to deliver the hot chocolate that I ordered at the end.
I so wanted to like your restaurant but was in the end underwhelmed and a bit disappointed.
Absolutely fantastic evening. Even before, we arrived the restaurant was most understanding when I tweaked my reservation several times, changing dietary requirements and dining numbers at least twice!
The service was exceptional - the menu explained, good advice given, food brought promptly and places cleared without any fuss.
The food itself was a revelation - a modern twist on the traditional taste of Mexico. The seafood was particularly strong.
Poor service Average food and noisy sum up the place
The place is very friendly, food is very nice and your not rushed.
Brunch was excellent - delicious food and excellent margaritas. The restaurant has a great vibe and the service was really good. Wonderful way to spend a bank holiday Saturday and amazing value too.
