Outstanding service. Staff honestly wanted to please. Enjoyed menu on Restaurant Week with friends! Will definitely be back. Beautiful restaurant in beautifully renovated hotel. Enjoyed the photography on display on second floor.
This was my first time at May Flower since the remodel. I loved the buffet lunch from before. It was in and out so easy for lunch.
Even though Eve had a prefix menu for Dine LA, the service was very slow. I ordered the salmon and kale but didn't realize it was a kale salad. It was good but just not what I expected.
The decor was nicely done.
Not in the best part of town, but you can valet at the adjacent hotel for $5 with validation. Food was great and good portions. Very willing stuff. Nice décor. Would go again.
We went for the New Years Eve Pre-fix dinner - the bread selections are good to start, we both had the butternut squash soup which was more sweet than salty. I had the scallops with truffle which were quite good. The warm cookie with ice cream desert we both enjoyed. Nice cocktails and very good service. the hotel is beautiful and we will definitely go back for a more casual dinner.
I ate at Eve on both Christmas and New Year’s Eve when they offered a prix fix menu with wine pairings and they were brilliant.
Booked for a pre-theater dinner. Absolutely excellent! Gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Crispy Calamari salad was the highlight. So good! Light and fresh. Also deviled eggs and pickled vegetables. Entrées were solid and well-priced. Just expected more from the pasta dish. Service was friendly, bright and attentive.
I was pleased with the service and the knowledge of the server. The food was very good and well presented.
Eve is attached to a old, but revamped trendy Hotel. The restaurant food and service were great. Any issues were taken care of. I will go back.
I think it is wonderful place. Our waitress was exceptional, fantastic. I highly recommend this place. It is a must see masterpiece hotel, all upgrade, incredibly beautiful. You must see their second floor garden, the art gallery, and their beautiful decor. I will definitely be coming back to have a drink or two. The oysters and the duck/pasta amazing. I had lunch, so their menu was limited, but I am hoping to go back for Dinner or brunch. Be ready to be transported to an upscale historic place!
Whatever you do... get the butternut squash soup... would be worth eating every day of the week all year around if it was available. Overall it is a very good restaurant and I highly recommend it, will certainly return there soon.
Food was top notch. Great quality and flavor, we liked everything we ordered! Our server was sweet, but could have been better trained. It was very quiet on a Sat night, but it is tucked away just beyond dtla. Still can see some great things ahead for this relatively new restaurant.
While visiting Los Angeles over Thanksgiving we chose to have a turkey dinner at Eve. Everything was perfect. It was a prie fixe menu ($42) for three courses with a choice of four appetizers, four mains (two with turkey), and three desserts. We chose different things and all choices were delicious. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. Valet parking was &5 with validation. All in all a great experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Had a lovely evening! We had our Thanksgiving dinner at Eve and really enjoyed the pre-fixe menu. The wait staff were so kind and attentive and the food was amazing. We are grateful to have found this gem!
We went for Thanksgiving with my in-laws and the menu was lovely and the food delicious! The staff was EXTREMELY friendly, but I felt a bit rushed with the courses - almost as though they were trying to hurry us along so they could turn the table. Also, we brought a wonderful bottle of wine from our cellar and asked them to cork it. When our waiter did, he didn't allow a tasting sip but rather just started filling my husbands glass. It was kind of strange... Other than those minor details (which I assumed were due to the holiday), we were very pleased with the experience and will definitely go back! Their regular menu looks amazing to us!
Wait staff is inexperienced. Rushed the courses and restaurant was empty. However, very friendly.
Appetizers were terrific, service was very good. Beef cheeks were amazing. We had two issues - octopus was brought out first ahead of all other entrees. They took back to hold for other entrees and when we got it eventually it was cold. Otherwise, great evening.
The Mayfair Hotel renovation is simply spectacular and Eve is connected and a lovely setting with truly awesome food. I've written a prior review about dinner and this one is about Sunday Brunch.
The management seems to want a crowd but is unwilling to consider options on how to draw a crowd. Sunday Brunch requires bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary options. It is the sacred law of successful brunch establishments. Limit it to 90 minutes, use a high quality sparkling and vodka, charge $15 - $20 per person on top of food and you will draw a healthy crowd on the weekend that might even then spill over into the gorgeous hotel lobbies to continue day drinking on Sunday Funday. Until this happens, Sunday Brunch at Eve was just an expensive burger that was tasty and a daunting feeling like it was designed for the after church types.
Amazing food in a gorgeous setting. Made the entire evening special and memorable.
You can create your own eggs benedict BUT THEY DON'T HAVE CANADIAN BACON! Pricey so value proposition not there.
Wanted to take the office staff of 5 out for doing a great job and was so pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the food was. The hotel had been redone since i was there last and it looks fantastic. Back to the food- I had the scallops which i highly recommend. Other dishes that were notable: beef cheeks, octopus appetizer. Try this place you won't be disappointed. Also the staff was great! Friendly and prompt! Oh i forgot- drinks were amazing too!
We were the only ones there, our server tried but was too attentive. Prime rib was over cooked with lots of fat. Very hard to find in hotel.
The food is always fresh and tasty. I just don't understand why the waitstaff lack any warmth. They seem like they wish they weren't there and a forced politeness. I've been there at least 10 times and have had maybe one decent waitperson, who didn't seem frosty and unhappy with life.
A quiet ambience in a newly remodeled Downtown Hotel. Service was memorable, Grace, our server was enthusiastic and warm the whole service and made our first experience one of many. The food was incredible and the drink well served. With the only downside being that there was too much ice in my old fashioned. A personal preference that didn’t take away from an otherwise great dining experience.
Wonderful service and delicious, inventive food. Highly recommend the sopes which were a special so if they have those they are a must. Overall a great dining experience attached to the lobby of a beautiful hotel. Will definitely return.
Excellent meal with outstanding service. Dessert was delicious.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great value. Everyone at the table loved their dish. Great place!
We visited this restaurant recently and were impressed by the service, the food and the ambiance. It is fairly new restaurant so it isn't yet packed but we loved it, the menu was well thought out.
...hit this other side of the freeway spot ....it’s fantastic and completely reasonably priced.
My wife and I came to Eve for dinner before the theater. They have a nice raw bar menu for appetizers. The menu is very "American Comfort Food" at its core. This is exactly what my wife wanted. They have many wines by the glass (2 or 6 oz pour or bottomless), so you can pare wines with courses. The space is lovely and the service is very good. We really liked Eve and will be back.
We really enjoyed our meal at Eve. Comfortable seating and tables. Friendly efficient service starting with the valet parking. The maître d' was pleasant and informative about the hotel and restaurant. Our server was attentive and nice. The bartender made a perfect dry martini! We ordered from the raw bar to start, great selection, loved the smoked scallop. Duck confit and chicory salad were absolutely delicious and flavorful. Roast leg of lamb and prime rib from the rotisserie with creamed spinach, button mushrooms and truffle lobster mac and cheese for entrees. I very much liked the traditional roast meats as an option for dinner. All the entrees looked good, we had a difficult time deciding. Oh and those little corn muffins in the bread basket were AMAZING!
The service was terrible. The waitress did not remember our orders. They tried to fix their mistake by taking the food away while the rest of us, 5 people, ate our food. We waited for the correct dish for about 30 min. By the time our friend got his food, the rest of us were done. And, yes, we waited for 15 min before we started to eat our food. Although they did not charge us for one dish and two desserts, the experience was already tarnished.
EVE DELIVERS THE PERFECT EVENING!
I invited a group of friends to check-out the newly remodeled Lobby, Bar, Restaurant and Ballroom at the Mayfair Hotel on 7th Street. All of the Interior Spaces are designed impeccably. I was hungry and made a reservation for the 4 of us at the lobby restaurant, "Eve".
Everything about "Eve" is perfect! We were immediately greeted by a vivacious hostess and her energy transferred to the energetic wait staff. Our waitress Jacque was super professional, pleasant and unobtrusive. One of the managers came to the table and gave us an over-the-top recommendation for the Beef Cheek. Each of us ordered a different dish and they were all fantastic! The Beef Cheek was Uber Tender and perfectly flavored. The Salmon was the best Salmon I ever had with the perfectly cooked interior mixing nicely with the toasty skin. My other two friends had the Green Salad with Apple, Candied Walnuts and Fennel & the Big Eye Tuna Tartare. Both were very delicious.
For dessert we opted for the Cookie - a warm chocolate chip cookie on a skillet with Vanilla/Scotch Gelato. It tastes as wonderful and its sound. Great Service. Amazing Food. Reasonable Prices. Go!
The space is lovely, food was great. Service a bit slow for a place that was mostly empty for 6:30 dinner, but hey are newly opened and maybe still working out some things. Excellent spot for dinner before music at the Teragram Ballroom.
Big things are coming for this special place , so glad we enjoyed it ! Food was very good , service was wonderful.
Newly updated place with cool and stylist ambiance. Almost too much attention from servers. Dennis the manager was very helpful and generous with time. Would recommend the tuna tartar and scallops with great flavors.
This restaurant is so new that we went just to see what it was all about - no reviews! It is wonderful - food, space, service! I highly recommend everyone visit the beautiful new hotel and this fab bistro , although I'm afraid once everyone discovers how good it is, I won't be able to get a res. Try the octopus salad, the tuna tartare, the crab deviled eggs too!
Very nice ambiance within a new restaurant that is still finding its legs. Food was very good especially the Crab Deviled Eggs appetizer and the Lobster Mashed potato side dish. Wait staff is friendly, welcoming and very professional, also able to provide detailed information about menu items. The restaurant Eve is the perfect complement to The Library Bar which is at the opposite end of the hotel lobby, both are a welcome addition to this rapidly evolving area of the city. When the 3rd floor pool deck opens in early 2019, it only enhance the heat and draw of this destination. It is ideally located for drinks/dinner after work if you are near DTLA or in the Westlake or Ktown vicinity. Check it out now as I suspect that it is only bound to get much busier with time.
They're in soft opening mode, but you'd never know it from the uniformly excellent quality of the food, drinks, and service. A gorgeous space and a great meal.
