The hotel and the restaurant are gorgeous! Totally didn’t expect this from the neighborhood but what a gem this place is! I definitely want to stay here because there is so much to look at in one place.
Exceptional on every level. Eve is a comfortably and fashionably upscale bistro inside the recently restored and historic Mayfair Hotel in Downtown LA. Modern, sleek but pleasing furnishings make for a lovely ambiance. The eclectic menu offers small and large plates and everything we had was delightful, from the avocado bruschetta and grilled octopus to the sautéed scallops and grilled filet steak. A wonderfully sweet and salty cookie with ice cream topped off the exquisite meal. Service was very friendly, helpful and uncommonly capable. A very special place.
I’m really not sure what was more fantastic; the service or the food! My friends and I were in on a quiet Sunday afternoon while taking a break from conference travel. We sure did find Eve to be a special place and one we’ll return to should our travels bring us back to LA. Highly recommend!
A most wonderful brunch - the prime rib hash not only had an excellent taste but the presentation was stunning, the smoked salmon with the eggs Benedict was perfect, and the Croque Madame was large enough for two with an overflowing cheese sauce that cheese lovers will crave. Service and ambience was excellent. This is our 3rd time eating at Eve - and we will be back!
Go now! Awesome brunch!
The dining room chairs are to small.
Eve is a nice little surprise in a neighborhood definitely in transition. The place had style, well crafted food and ambition. Definitely worth a try and we'll be back to try other options on the menu
The food was excellent, well prepared and unique flavors that really worked. I was surprised at the cost of the meal verses the quality. My server was friendly and efficient. The ambiance was inviting and intimate. I would definitely return.
Everything I tried was a party in my mouth. I see m could have eaten everything in the menu. The decor is chic and upscale, yet relaxed like Southern California can only do.
Our entire experience was 4 stars but drinks in the lounge to the entire dinner. All was very good!
Nice spot of a weekday bite or a date night. Lots of interesting items on the menu. I can vouch for the salmon and the Mac and cheese. Wine list is solid. Valet is $5 with validation.
The service was amazing, they were very attentive and made sure our night was special.
The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was eclectic and welcoming. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for a great place to unwind with friends.
Relaxing and beautiful restaurant and food was very very delicious
It was my mom's birthday and I wanted to take her somewhere nice, relaxing, elegant, affordable, and with delicious food. Eve was exactly all those things! The service was wonderful as well! I would definitely recommend it & I do see myself coming back! :)
Great food with interesting new flavors. The scallops were our favorite along with the brussel sprouts and bruschetta. Service was fantastic and the decor beautiful!
Beautiful location, excellent food and excellent service.
Outstanding service. Staff honestly wanted to please. Enjoyed menu on Restaurant Week with friends! Will definitely be back. Beautiful restaurant in beautifully renovated hotel. Enjoyed the photography on display on second floor.
This was my first time at May Flower since the remodel. I loved the buffet lunch from before. It was in and out so easy for lunch.
Even though Eve had a prefix menu for Dine LA, the service was very slow. I ordered the salmon and kale but didn't realize it was a kale salad. It was good but just not what I expected.
The decor was nicely done.
Not in the best part of town, but you can valet at the adjacent hotel for $5 with validation. Food was great and good portions. Very willing stuff. Nice décor. Would go again.
We went for the New Years Eve Pre-fix dinner - the bread selections are good to start, we both had the butternut squash soup which was more sweet than salty. I had the scallops with truffle which were quite good. The warm cookie with ice cream desert we both enjoyed. Nice cocktails and very good service. the hotel is beautiful and we will definitely go back for a more casual dinner.
I ate at Eve on both Christmas and New Year’s Eve when they offered a prix fix menu with wine pairings and they were brilliant.
Booked for a pre-theater dinner. Absolutely excellent! Gorgeous hotel and restaurant. Crispy Calamari salad was the highlight. So good! Light and fresh. Also deviled eggs and pickled vegetables. Entrées were solid and well-priced. Just expected more from the pasta dish. Service was friendly, bright and attentive.
I was pleased with the service and the knowledge of the server. The food was very good and well presented.
Eve is attached to a old, but revamped trendy Hotel. The restaurant food and service were great. Any issues were taken care of. I will go back.
I think it is wonderful place. Our waitress was exceptional, fantastic. I highly recommend this place. It is a must see masterpiece hotel, all upgrade, incredibly beautiful. You must see their second floor garden, the art gallery, and their beautiful decor. I will definitely be coming back to have a drink or two. The oysters and the duck/pasta amazing. I had lunch, so their menu was limited, but I am hoping to go back for Dinner or brunch. Be ready to be transported to an upscale historic place!
Whatever you do... get the butternut squash soup... would be worth eating every day of the week all year around if it was available. Overall it is a very good restaurant and I highly recommend it, will certainly return there soon.
Food was top notch. Great quality and flavor, we liked everything we ordered! Our server was sweet, but could have been better trained. It was very quiet on a Sat night, but it is tucked away just beyond dtla. Still can see some great things ahead for this relatively new restaurant.
While visiting Los Angeles over Thanksgiving we chose to have a turkey dinner at Eve. Everything was perfect. It was a prie fixe menu ($42) for three courses with a choice of four appetizers, four mains (two with turkey), and three desserts. We chose different things and all choices were delicious. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. Valet parking was &5 with validation. All in all a great experience. We highly recommend this restaurant.
Had a lovely evening! We had our Thanksgiving dinner at Eve and really enjoyed the pre-fixe menu. The wait staff were so kind and attentive and the food was amazing. We are grateful to have found this gem!
We went for Thanksgiving with my in-laws and the menu was lovely and the food delicious! The staff was EXTREMELY friendly, but I felt a bit rushed with the courses - almost as though they were trying to hurry us along so they could turn the table. Also, we brought a wonderful bottle of wine from our cellar and asked them to cork it. When our waiter did, he didn't allow a tasting sip but rather just started filling my husbands glass. It was kind of strange... Other than those minor details (which I assumed were due to the holiday), we were very pleased with the experience and will definitely go back! Their regular menu looks amazing to us!
Wait staff is inexperienced. Rushed the courses and restaurant was empty. However, very friendly.
Appetizers were terrific, service was very good. Beef cheeks were amazing. We had two issues - octopus was brought out first ahead of all other entrees. They took back to hold for other entrees and when we got it eventually it was cold. Otherwise, great evening.
The Mayfair Hotel renovation is simply spectacular and Eve is connected and a lovely setting with truly awesome food. I've written a prior review about dinner and this one is about Sunday Brunch.
The management seems to want a crowd but is unwilling to consider options on how to draw a crowd. Sunday Brunch requires bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary options. It is the sacred law of successful brunch establishments. Limit it to 90 minutes, use a high quality sparkling and vodka, charge $15 - $20 per person on top of food and you will draw a healthy crowd on the weekend that might even then spill over into the gorgeous hotel lobbies to continue day drinking on Sunday Funday. Until this happens, Sunday Brunch at Eve was just an expensive burger that was tasty and a daunting feeling like it was designed for the after church types.
Amazing food in a gorgeous setting. Made the entire evening special and memorable.
You can create your own eggs benedict BUT THEY DON'T HAVE CANADIAN BACON! Pricey so value proposition not there.
Wanted to take the office staff of 5 out for doing a great job and was so pleasantly surprised at how fantastic the food was. The hotel had been redone since i was there last and it looks fantastic. Back to the food- I had the scallops which i highly recommend. Other dishes that were notable: beef cheeks, octopus appetizer. Try this place you won't be disappointed. Also the staff was great! Friendly and prompt! Oh i forgot- drinks were amazing too!
We were the only ones there, our server tried but was too attentive. Prime rib was over cooked with lots of fat. Very hard to find in hotel.
The food is always fresh and tasty. I just don't understand why the waitstaff lack any warmth. They seem like they wish they weren't there and a forced politeness. I've been there at least 10 times and have had maybe one decent waitperson, who didn't seem frosty and unhappy with life.
A quiet ambience in a newly remodeled Downtown Hotel. Service was memorable, Grace, our server was enthusiastic and warm the whole service and made our first experience one of many. The food was incredible and the drink well served. With the only downside being that there was too much ice in my old fashioned. A personal preference that didn’t take away from an otherwise great dining experience.
