Forge and Vine
We loved everything!
We tried one of their dinners for two. The short rib was the best I’ve ever had.
Great service, terrific waiter, delicious food.
Great food, great drinks lots of fun with friends !!
Very good experience - food, wine , service tip notch
My dinner (pork chop) was very good. My wife's meal was not so good. The gnocchi she ordered was lukewarm and quite hard. The mussels she exchanged the gnocchi for were good but the ssuce was pretty bland. So it was a mix of very good and disappointing.
Excellent food, excellent service. Sat at the Chef’s table, really enjoyable
My family of 8 had reservations and was a bit late for our reservation - the restaurant was very accommodating with a 15 minute delay.
Everyone was pleasant, but we had 4 “oopps” by the staff: could not find the wine we ordered, took 20 minutes for the bottle to be delivered; wrong dinner order delivered to one at my table; forgot a dessert order; brought the wrong drink. The waitress was all apologetic, and we don’t know how much of this was her (was she new?) vs. the others in the kitchen. Anyway, if we ever go back, we would return, but perhaps with different expectations
Made reservations before hand so no waiting. First time here and the setting was beautiful with a barn like feeling and interesting lighting. Beer and wine selection was good. Menu was terrific. We had the beet salad, braised short ribs and a beef and noodle dish, all excellent. Topped it off with spice cake and chocolate cheese cake. Again excellent. Couldn’t finish any of it so we enjoyed the entire meal again the next night. We’ll be back. A great special occasion destination.
This was my third time dining at Forge and Vine. The food is lovely, the potato dish that comes with the filet mignon is to excellent. Downside is that it prevents me from trying other dishes. We were seated in the main dining room and had tables quite close to us on either side. Both parties were very nice, but we could hear every conversation. I much prefer sitting at the bar or in the bar area. My husband and my brother in-law both enjoyed their meals very much. My brother in-law has an allergy to soy and the kitchen and waitress were very accommodating, knowing ahead of time which dishes he would be able to eat (and there were quite a few).
Arriving at 5:30 on a Tuesday was good timing for us because the restaurant hadn’t filled up so we were able to have a conversation without straining. Server (Jessie) was pleasant, attentive and efficient. Food was delicious.
This is my second time dining at Forge and Vine. I even invited a different group of friends along for the experience. They all loved it and were pleased with their entrees. The braised short ribs is always a popular dish and never disappoints. I tried the mushroom flatbread this time which was good also. We were promptly seated and waited on. Our meals came out in a timely manner. We will be planning our next visit soon.
Everything was great! The food, the service and the company .. can’t wait to go back!!
Dinner with brother and sister in law
Their first time here
They loved it
As do we
We keep coming back and bringing friends and family to enjoy with us
Sat at the bar and had amazing service!
Date night! Awesome! Laura was our server and she was spectacular! We'll be back
Excellent as expected
Another great dinner at Forge and Vine! Keep up the great work of preparing the best locally sourced foods in a great ambiance!
Incredible food. Good drinks. We ordered the new England charcuterie board and the waiter took the time to explain where all the meats came from and the best way to enjoy them. Great service! Already can't wait to go back.
Excellent food, excellent atmosphere and staff is excellent!!
The service was excellent and our waitress had an awesome personality and was very intuitive to our needs and very helpful. The food was excellent. Everyone seemed to love their meal. The serving style and table water etc... and serving of everything was done with beautiful elegance.
I grew up in Groton and remember the property that was there very well. I live in the next town and don't often get out when I'm with my family to a nice dinner. I am an event planner for my job so maybe I'm more critical than most? The venue is pretty, parking was fine and we didn't have to wait for our table since we had a reservation. The noise though, LOUD. I attended with my husband and 12 yr old son and I'm not sure why, but people were just shouting at each other from the tables all around us. I would have loved to have rated this venue 5-stars, but our waitress. We sat for a while before she came over. She asked us if we'd been there before, we hadn't and then she explained that the food is cooked to order. Was there any specials? Recommendations on what to order? Nope. The table next to us was ordering dessert and she went through the menu with them, sharing the specials. I don't know why, but this is the second year in a row we've been to a nice dinner after our annual TSO outing in which the waitress has essentially taken the specialness of the evening away. From dumping and running from our drink orders to never checking back in with us during dinner except to dump dessert menus from the next table over since she "heard we'd be needing them". She left the check & didn't come back for a solid 10 minutes, then took our card, came back and said "you're all set, but stay as long as you'd like" yet didn't offer us anything else before or after. It's always a surreal experience to save up for a special occasion, as noted on our original reservation, and then to be treated like we are in steerage instead of first class when we arrive. Is our money not as green as others? Does my husband's long hair or my son's attendance offend the help? We only left 18% for the tip. Maybe don't wait for 10 (often longer) minutes in between visits to our table. Because of my job, eating at fancy restaurants on the road is the norm for me, I guess I'm too critical.
Our family of four went to Forge and Vine to celebrate a birthday. As usual, the food, service and ambiance was excellent. Prices are very reasonable, we appreciate that the menu changes seasonally as this is our favorite “go to” restaurant.
Amazing service- from the front team to the servers- warm and professional. I had the steak frites and wasn’t thrilled with the flavors or preparation... but the crispy duck salad was divine. Everyone else very much enjoyed their meals and ate every bit. Can’t wait to come back.
Great food, wonderful ambience, though a bit noisy. Service was a tad slow - I think the server was new.
Food was really excellent! Worth trying at least once.
Excellent food. Comfortable atmosphere. We've been several times and are pleased everytime.
Great from the moment we checked in!
My husband and I were on a date night. The waitress was great. The food was excellent. We both had the filet and they were cooked perfectly. We tried the pumpkin bisque and clam chowder, both were excellent. And the drinks from the bar were spot on. Would highly recommend, but make sure you have a reservation on the weekend.
This is our favorite restaurant in the area. We've come here now maybe 5-6 times and each time we absolutely love every bite. This time we got the rotisserie chicken for two with a poutine starter and it was incredible. The chicken was moist, tender and delicious. The poutine almost had too much short rib, but we all know you can actually never have too much short rib in your poutine. The butterscotch pudding for desert was ridiculous. This place is always packed for a reason, but they still seat you pretty quick! And they have drink service while you wait, which is always welcome. All and all a very swank and hip locale for dinner. Prices are upscale yes, but in my opinion you are getting what you pay for.
We had a wonderful time with old friends. We were very grateful to be seated in a quiet area because one in our party has hearing difficulty. Our waiter clearly loved his job and promoted many dishes with enthusiasm. Everything was as promised. Love the menu, love the ambience.
Informative server. Great suggestions. Delicious meal. Good drinks.
Had to wait 30 mins past reservation time but the food was wonderful. Service a bit slow. Would recommend
The question is always would I go back and yes I would but it is pricey.
Booked an early dinner as we just came back from a trip and hadn’t shopped yet. Server and service were terrific! A nice way to wind down!
The food and the service at Forge and Vine were both very good. My only criticism was that the pacing of the dinner was a little too fast. While I have no complaints about the attentive service of the wait staff, it would have been nice to have had a little more time between courses. The overall ambiance and background noise level in the restaurant was noticeable but not overly intrusive. The size of the tables and the spacing between tables was a little tight. Overall, though, I will be back again for the food. It was truly excellent.
Great as usual. Our third visit for dinner and you never disappoint. Can’t wait to to again!!!
Friends met us there for dinner.
We had been before and loved it.
They really enjoyed it also.
This was my fourth time eating at Forge and Vine and each time it just keeps getting better. For this visit, I made reservations for a large party and we were accommodated immediately and our server was wonderful throughout the evening. All of the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I ordered the pork chop and it was, hands down, the best pork chop I have ever had at a restaurant. We will definitely be back again!
A great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere, it is a lively place which was full and everyone appeared to be having a good time as well as enjoying the excellent food. The service was outstanding from the greeting and throughout the meal, the servers are very knowledgeable, especially about the menu choices and their ingredients which was important as we an a nut allergy guest with us.
Overall a great place to go and eat.
We sat in a back room with no atmosphere what so ever.
