The food was delicious, fresh and authentic. The service was attentive but not overly so, allowing us to have a delightful leisurely meal. Forno remains my favorite choice for Italian.

We went here for our anniversary and everything was amazing. I had the Atlantic cod with the tomato risotto and my wife had the asparagus gnudi. For an appetizer we had the bruschetta sample and dessert the tiramisu. I can't say enough about how awesome the food was! Liz and Everett served us at the bar and they were fantastic as well.

Another great meal! We love coming here for any occasion. The burrata and meatballs are our favorite appetizers. All the entrees are incredible. And don’t miss out on Pope’s Chocolate salame!

We were disappointed this time, we were there for our wedding Anniversary which was stated in our reservation however no one with Forno even acknowledged it. We had ask for a certain table in the bar area however it was not really what we had ask for when we arrived. We have been there many times previously and have always had a great experiences so this was a disappointment. Our service started out good but then went downhill from there. Probably not the best idea to have the bartender also act as a server when it’s busy. One dish was good but the other not so great and was not really hot when it arrived at our table. We were brought a dessert menu but then the bartender never came back to take the order so we just ask for the check. Not sure we will go back as it’s too expensive for the service we experienced. We expected better as we have experienced in previous visits.

The food was mostly delicious. The tomato risotto, while it had a perfect texture, tasted just like Frisch’s vegetable soup. Exact flavor profile. Was funny actually and unexpected. The bruschetta sampler was amazing. The tuna was unexpectedly delicious. We even got the goat cheese and honey bruschetta for dessert. Nice wine list and generous pours. We will be back.

The food was excellent. Highly recommend the short rib. Service was friendly and fast as well. The restaurant was tight seating and loud acoustics in the main dining area. Overall, I would go back!

Two of our party of 3 were very pleased, one just OK. Veal piccata was tasty. Had a side of tomato risotto which had a small spicy kick. Risotto not perfect (not quite done?) but still very good flavor. Asparagus gnudi very good. Pasta bolognese good, not the best we’ve had. All in all enjoyed our food. Service was very good.

Loved this place. The food was very tasteful and comparable to the simple dishes served in Italy. We got half portions of the bolognese and pesto, along with the short rib. Outstanding. The bread and meatball were perfect antipastos. The large oven, not only is a centerpiece for the dining room but gives a great smell and feel to the place. I would highly recommend it.

We made a last-minute reservation on a weeknight and had an enjoyable later dinner. We couldn’t resist the BOLO, the dinner special pasta for the night. The bolognese sauce was delicious, paired with a simple salad and crusty bread. We ordered the half liter of house red which was nothing special, but it was fine. The space is small and can be quite loud, but we attributed much of it to the especially loud foursome right behind us. Can’t blame someone for having a good time, right?!

Luv Forno/Hyde Park - but 1st time @Montgomery location to meet friend early Fri evening. Decision made only 1 day in advance so only high-top seating in bar area open for a reservation. Seated immediately & server greeted quickly - pinot grigio promptly brought to table. My homemade gnocchi was fabulous - leek/parmigiano sauce great way to serve it. Truffled cream corn we shared was delicious w/o being overpowered by truffle flavor. Friend luv'd yellow pepper soup & caprese. Everything served correct temperature. Shared perfect creme brulee. Attentive/ very friendly service w/o being intrusive to our conversation. Only issue: bar stools w/o any chair pads uncomfortable for a dinner seating . . .will plan ahead next time for dining rm table. One last item: a young woman came to bar & proceeded to move chair from other area to put it right where servers would walk thru (next to us). That forced servers to try to squeeze thru by turning sideways & brush up against my friend. Mgr or server should've asked inconsiderate person to move chair back to other end of bar where there was room.

Nice place to eat. Burrata was outstanding! Eggplant parm side was also very good. Pasta was swimming in pesto not so good. Pizza was very good. Wine pours by the glass were pretty meager. Overall we enjoyed Forno.

Made a reservation the same day we wanted to dine, and the only spots left for dining were at the bar. Not our first choice, but service was excellent, and we got to oversee all the pizzas cooked in the woodfired oven. The place was packed and we learned to do a better job of planning ahead. Our server was excellent, the food was great, and the bread to "die for". We'll be back and be sure to make an earlier reservation.
