Music was wonderful, food was delicious(!!!), server was helpful and informative! My wife and I loved every item that we ate that night! The Herring Spaghetti was delicious! The Strip Steak was cooked perfectly, every option was amazing. Will definitely return.
My husband and I were regulars of Friday Saturday Sunday when we lived in the City and under the prior ownership. It was one of our favorite spots. The new owners did a fabulous job renovating the restaurant and the food was absolutely amazing!
Visited for a Valentine's Day dinner and we were thoroughly blown away. The service was outstanding and our waiter was super helpful with directing us to the best meals on the menu since were were unfamiliar with some of their more exotic options. We also received a complimentary small plate to try. The food was amazing and the cocktails were even better. Definitively recommend as a cool date/celebratory spot.
Everything was amazing: the service, the food, the ambiance. The eggs and caviar, the endive salad, the herring pasta with crab were our favorites, but all was meticulously designed and presented.
The cocktail program is very nice, would highly recommend stopping in for a drink at the bar. Thor was professional, friendly, and relaxed. He knew the menu well and was helpful in selecting courses and the right amount of food for our pre-Valentine's Day date.
Delicious and great service! We loved the mussel toast, roasted cauliflower, lobster, gnocchi, panna cotta, and cheesecake. We also had great cocktails - Control State and $413 million baby.
Based upon service and food alone, Friday, Saturday, Sunday is a 5 star experience. Every dish, from the charred cauliflower and grilled octopus to the sweet potato pasta to the roast chicken with butternut puree, was incredible -- the flavors leapt off the plate. Our waiter was amazing -- personable and knowledgeable without being intrusive. The atmosphere was also warm and welcoming but SO loud, especially for a Tuesday! People were literally shouting to their dining companions to be heard. The only other sour note (literally) were our cocktails. They were both supposed to have tequila but one tasted very odd and murky like iced tea and the other was 75% crushed ice and tasted like Crystal Light. The wine list, thankfully, made up for the cocktails and was varied and not too expensive for the quality. We will definitely be back -- for the food and service, which is among the best we've had in the city.
Horrible horrible service! Will never go back!
Every item we ordered was delicious. Tim guided us through the menu and provided exceptional service. the plateau was a great way to try all the seafood items. mussel toast was out of this world
Wonderful experience! Went for date night with my husband. The food was so delicious and the service was excellent! We’ll definitely be back!
I give this my highest recommendation for food, atmosphere, and value. My partner and I live in NYC and we were in Philadelphia one night. Since we were not familiar with the restaurants in Philly, we asked friends and they unanimously recommended this gem. The wait staff was helpful and warm, wanting to make sure all our dietary needs were met and that we didn’t order an overwhelming amount of food. The food is absolutely delicious, delicate, complex, and sophisticated. The homemade butter is amazing. We started with the brown butter gnocchi and had hanger steak with smoked mashed potatoes and a side of Brussels sprouts with walnuts and mushrooms. The dessert was a thrilling deconstructed brownie and blondie with vanilla ice cream and Carmel sea salt on the side. It was my favorite restaurant meal in two years, including our favorite spots in NYC. We will go back the next time We are in Philadelphia.
First time at the restaurant. Service was great. Food was OK. Dessert was excellent. Over all I would not say it was s bad experience. The tables are very close to each other and noise levels detracted from the dining experience
Amazing meal and even better service. Our server Andrew was great and very informative with suggestions!! Cant wait to go back
What a wonderful experience! The service and our meal was excellent. I look forward to returning!
The bar scene was lively. The wines by the glass were different, in a good way. For dinner, we were fortunate to be seated at a table by the window. It was a bit more quiet there, which was important to me, as I am hard of hearing. The food was delicious. Again, the wine selection was more adventurous than usual. We enjoyed a Santorini white with our seafood centric menu choices. And, a fine meal was enjoyed!
Excellent food and wonderful ambience. Loved the mussels appetizer. That was our favorite.
The steak was also tender and delicious. Hardest part was finding a parking space so leave plenty
of time for that!
Very cool vibe, excellent service, and thoughtful wine list to compliment delicious menu creations. This is a classy dining experience on all levels.
This was the first time I went to FSS since its reopening. I frequented the original FSS and liked it a lot. This iteration is a very good one - less funky and homey but comfortable and friendly. My wife and I chose three appetizers each and we loved all six of them. Definitely will go again.
This place gets better every visit!
Fri Sat Sun was a total disappointment given all the hype. At this price point, we expected something special but nothing rose above the ordinary.
The food was great. The cauliflower and chicken liver mouse was out of this world. I think the octopus at Dmitri's is slightly better, the beef tartar was chopped and not sliced and they didn't have straws for our cocktails but an overall great experience.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable dinner at Friday, Saturday Sunday! The food was interesting, without being too precious or strange. And it was all delicious! Our waiter Alec was terrific. He was patient, friendly and offered great suggestions. His manner enhanced our dining experience. We can't wait to return!
Love was in the air with my bff
Top 5 restaurant in Philly.
Annual besties dinner didn’t disappoint this year! We love the vibe and corner bar feel
We had not been at FSS Restaurant in quite a while - had found other better places to go eat, but decided to try after hearing good things about the new chefs/owners. What a good choice we made. They had lots of small plates, so we ended up with 4 different plates that the 2 of us shared - octopus, steak tartare, cured Arctic char, and brussels sprouts. They were not only creative and beautifully presented, but delicious! And the four plates were plenty of food for the 2 of us (although some people may want more - we don't eat very much). Service was equally good and attentive, and the noise level was not too bad, so we could carry on a conversation quite easily without having to yell. All is all, a wonderful experience; we will be back. The only downside to this restaurant is the location, and the ability to find parking within easy walking distance.
The food was outstanding. Best gnocchi ever; carrots were delicious. Andrew, our server, was knowledgeable, very friendly, and was fun. The cocktails were also outstanding. Definitely one of the best in town.
Octopus is a must! Service was fantastic, location convenient. Will certainly return.
Excellent food, service and ambiance. The dinner choices are wonderful, food is delicious, and choices can be split so everyone can enjoy the range of opportunities.
This restaurant pays attention to detail. Very romantic, a great spot to take someone you love!
Dinner was fabulous - we were celebrating our Anniversary - and the food was to die for; service was excellent - server was so knowledgeable of the menu and suggestions for dinner. Would HIGHLY recommend and will DEFINITELY go back....LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Thank you for a great experience
Best restaurant in the city, drinks, food, hospitality, can't say enough
Excellent restaurant. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable regarding the food preparations. Food was innovative, unique, extremely well prepared. We like to try new things so there is always a new restaurant to taste. FSS will be revisited, recommended and reflected upon. Just that good.
Great food and server!
The food was not only delicious but an art form. Loved it!
Every detail was perfect. Our server, Andrew, was professional, knowledgeable and clearly dedicated to making our experience a wonderful one. The food was delicious, and all four of us agreed, having partaken of much of the menu! Three days later I am still thinking about Friday, Saturday, Sunday and hope to return soon.
This restaurant is everything its cracked to be; fabulous meal from start to finish and top notch servers.
Dined there this past week to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. We ordered something from each section of the menu and it was the perfect amount of food. Everything was delicious, including the craft cocktails. I highly recommend.
The Good: Everything was pleasant, table was ready on time, food was well prepared along with presentation, service was professional and very nice quaint environment.
The Could be better: Food delivery time, they move food out quickly. You may want to specify if you are in a rush or looking to take your time and enjoy your meal and conversation. Servers are well trained in their choice of words which was impressive, but can feel like you are buying a car. Menu could use a little more description on the items.
Overall, very good place and will go again and again. and like some of the harder to get into restaurants in Center City, they have a lively bar you can sit at and enjoy the same meal.
We had a wonderful night and delicious meal at Friday Saturday Sunday. The waitstaff was excellent. Tim was our server and was attentive, well-informed and knew exactly what to recommend in terms of quantity for the two of us. We shared the mussel toast, roasted potato gnocchi, octopus for appetizers. We had the dry aged duck for two which was fabulous. Our reservation was at 5:45 and there are only a couple of ducks served per night so if you want the duck, go early. We had the brownie for dessert - the crowd pleaser as Tim said. My wife wanted chocolate though if we were to have two desserts, we would have tried the panna cotta. Wine list was also excellent and per glass price was comparable to a bottle so that was a nice plus if you want to try different wines. The second floor dining is not overcrowded and very comfortable. We are looking forward to returning.
