   Roast rib of beef was £28 which included one small slice of meat. Cauliflower cheese arrived later than the rest of the meal. Food was nice but not great value for money.

   Lovely dinner and fantastic service as always. We had a young waiter who was keen to make recommendations and was very attentive. Both the steak and calves liver were excellent.

   Really enjoyed our meal at George IV (first visit). There could have been a slightly wider choice of main courses, but the food we had was delicious and the ambience is lovely. Bit tricky to park!

    This was without a doubt one of the finest Sunday lunches we have ever eaten ( and we’ve eaten a lot of lunches in a lot of different places.) The experience contained the three things that made our Sunday meal perfect….delicious food, consistently excellent service and wonderful presentation. The food was spread on the plate in a triumphant way rather than being piled high in a tasteless tower. Thank you George IV. Can’t wait for my next visit……

    Food and drink were really delicious. Very good Sunday lunch. Lovely atmosphere with open fire and nicely busy. Majority of the serving staff are very young, they are polite and friendly however need a bit more finess and training to get the service to match the food and ambience.

    We had a nice meal but the pheasant was a little over cooked and a bit tough and dry, however everything else was very good. Have been here many times and will be back again as it is usually excellent.

    On a rainy, dark day it's always comforting to walk into a restaurant with a roaring fire. You just have to ensure you keep the fire burning! The service was good and food delivered timely. Great to see Whitebait back on the menu; the roasts were also welcome however, they could save by not giving so many roast potatoes! It's a cosy place to linger over lunch on a Sunday.

    Lovely pub with nice character and pleasant staff. We had Sunday roast and personally it was just average. Nothing spectacular about it but I’ll still give them the benefit of a doubt and visit again to try different things on the menu.

    On Sunday the three of us enjoyed a very satisfying lunch with some delicious food and wine. It was good to see squid back on the menu. The service was very attentive and we felt the atmosphere warm and welcoming. We look forward to our next visit, along with our guest who found the whole experience great.

    We were a foursome for Sunday lunch at 1pm. Our order was taken at 1:10pm. We ordered no starters, only drinks, and bread and olives to share. Our main courses were served 40 minutes later at 1:50pm, after I had chased for them. The roast lamb was mean in quantity and very fibrous. The other elements of the meal were OK. I had the impression that they simply don't have the kitchen and serving capacity to cope with a full house. It's a nice enough venue and I will try it again when it's less busy.
