What Insiders Are Saying
Gramercy Tavern is an incredible restaurant. But you already know that. The bar is the move you want to make here, and you want to make it often.
Superb service, everyone was attentive and kind and practiced excellent decorum.
The food was delicious and thoughtfully presented.
Overall really enjoyable experience and worth a splurge!
Everything was impeccable, the food was delicious, creative, and on-point and the service was incredible. The staff at Gramercy Tavern do their utmost best to make customers feel valued and special as they provide an amazing dining experience.
My all time favorite restaurant... anywhere! Service is attentive, very much aware of any allergies, and of course, food is outstanding!
Perfectly looked after from start to finish. Everybody was incredible and the food was sublime. Been coming here for 23 years. Always gets better. Rare
It is still the best in nyc
Still amazing after 22 plus years of going there.
Absolutely loved our waitress Kelsey. Best experience for my grandmas 99th birthday lunch! Delicious food, and great value. It was a little salty but we enjoyed everything especially the Arctic Char and strawberry scallop ceviche. Love the idea of supporting sustainable fisheries with their daily catch menu!
food is nice dessert is cute
Always can trust a Danny Meyer restaurant. Gramercy Tavern continues to be a fantastic place to dine in New York City. From the beautiful ambiance to the stellar service, I enjoyed my lunch immensely.
Utterly incredible. We had gotten married two days before, and when we reserved we let them know we were celebrating. They made us feel like royalty and threw in so many complimentary items, which, on top of the exquisite six course seasonal tasting menu, made this an unforgettable experience. Rob, the captain of our service team, was the personification of perfect service. By the end of the meal he felt like the friend you like to go out with because you know he’ll have the best recommendations of anyone you know. This restaurant has everything you’d expect from a Union Square Hospitality Group venture and more, and while the price tag is enormous, it’s worth every penny.
Amazing as always. Could have been a bit faster pace, other than that my guest became a fan as well. Good job GT family!
As usual no complaints. Great service and sommelier made excellent wine suggestions. A NYC fav.
I came to Gramercy Tavern for my wedding anniversary and it was the perfect spot to celebrate. The food and it’s presentation were works of art. We couldn’t believe how delicious and flavorful each course was and the seasonal tasting menu was the best I’ve had in terms of quality and taste. Highly recommend!!
I've lived in NYC for 27 years and go out to eat a lot but have never been to Gramercy Tavern in spite of having it on my list of top restaurants to try for years. I was so looking forward to eating there but have to say it was disappointing. The food was good, not great, and our waitress wasn't so attentive.
Lovely meal in a beautiful setting. I had the cucumber soup and sea bass. My friends had beet salad and artichoke char. Desserts were merlngue with strawberries and chocolate buttercream tart. Delicious!
Our expectations were high coming into this much anticipated dinner and it did not disappoint! A+ dinner all around. Food was phenomenal. Service took our experience from great to exceptional.
Overall, a very good dining experience. Food, ambiance and overall service were a high. My only negative comment is that I was very disappointed with the main server regarding a couple of her beverage suggestions. More specifically, I had ordered a Bourbon Manhattan (with Makers Mark bourbon). The server recommended another bourbon that she said was exceptional, if I wanted to try it. When I looked at the price for the bourbon she recommended, it was twice the price from Makers Mark (approx. $34)! I informed the server that I did not want to pay that exorbitant a price for a drink. She then recommended another bourbon that was also significantly more than my choice.
Then when ordering two glasses of wine to accompany our food, the server commented that the wine I chose might not be the best choice for my specific meal. I honestly don't think a server should ever comment on a guest's choice of wine, unless the guest specifically asks for recommendations.
I honestly don't know if my experience with this server was following policy of Gramercy Tavern, or simply her own motive for attempting to raise the overall bill or attempting to showcase her perceived knowledge.
Fantastic culinary experience for a birthday celebration. One of the best meals I’ve savored in a while, last one was probably Gordon Ramsay Steak. Each course of the meal was perfectly balanced and complementary to one another. Loved the tagliatelle bolognese, Arctic char and caramelized cheesecake dessert. My partner loved the pork loin as well. We will certainly come back again!
Get the tasting menu and enjoy the ride. Gramercy is the best and compared to many pricier places, it offers outstanding value.
Gramercy Tavern is our favorite restaurant and never misses a beat. We usually go for dinner, but decided to go for brunch on Sunday to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We received glasses of Prosecco on the house and were seated at our favorite table. Scallops, oysters, hamburger and pork schnitzel were spectacular. Although the food was fabulous, what added to the incredible day was the service and warmth of everyone. We have never had a bad experience.
Amazing service & attention to detail! The entire team was so helpful & accommodating with our picky 6year old! The food & wine was beyond delicious! We’ll be back!
Prepare to be "Wowed", we were in town for a long weekend and ate at several of the newer well reviewed places, and I have to tell everyone - this place is incredible! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned, innovative and interesting! The service is outstanding, could not have been better. This is a not to miss restaurant and I for one can't wait to come back and try it again.
Love Gramercy Tavern. We got there as they opened on Sunday morning so it was quiet. It is quite a bit more vibrant in the evening when people are lined up to get into the bar area where they don't take reservations. Also, they are a tipping free venue which I like. Service was spectacular from all staff and management.
The Gramercy Tavern is a great New York gem. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. Would highly recommend, especially on special occasions. Do keep in mind that the Dinning Room has a high prix fixe.
Loved: the ambiance, the wine list, the dessert, the biscuits, the service
My husband and I were both underwhelmed by our entrees (and somewhat underwhelmed by our first course as well). Don't get me wrong, it was good! But we were expecting phenomenal. We live in Chicago and like trying great restaurants everywhere we travel, so we are maybe being tough critics
Absolutely incredible. Best 1 Michelin ⭐️ restaurant I’ve been to. Seemed more comparable to a 2⭐️ restaurant I’ve been to. I HIGHLY recommend this place.
We had the six course tasting menu. It was outstanding! Every course was a delightful combination of flavor and texture. Our server was also outstanding -- Ayisha did an incredible job of describing each course, answering questions and coordinating the pace of the entire meal. The wine pairings truly enhanced each course. My guests from out of town were overwhelmed by the entire experience.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. It has a really nice atmosphere, vibe, service staff, and food. I feel more at ease too with the no tip policy knowing that everyone that works there is getting a good wage and there is no up sell mentality.
Comfortable and welcoming staff and space, with delicious courses from start to finish. Not pretentious in any way, a memorable meal and wonderful experience.
I normally don’t gush but this was truly a memorable and amazing experience. Thank you to all the servers and chefs.
Wonderful staff very accommodating good food great desserts
We went late night with 4 gal pals, had a great 6 course dinner and wine! Not a cheap date but definitely amazing
The front desk personnel and wait staff were fabulous. The food was delicious. We had the tasting menu and the wine pairings were incredible. The only issue was with the air conditioner and we were offered a discount on our bill in compensation!! Overall a great evening. Will definitely go back!
A classic, of course, but a lunchtime visit seemed just a little bit complacent. Menu very short. Noise level quite high.
The prices are rather aggressive and my guest’s chicken on her high-priced chicken sandwich was nearly raw. That’s not easily forgivable during a $107 lunch.
Character and exemplary service add to the flavor and presentation of the day.
Terrific in every way as usual. Tasting for two of us, a la carte lunch for 4 - seamless, brilliant service and memorable delicious food. Perfect pitch in all ways.
We had a long and extremely delicious lunch right before catching our flight to end our vacation. We each had the seasonal tasting menu and I had the wine pairing. The wine pairings were perfectly matched. Everything we ate was worth a lengthy discussion and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice in our final NYC dining experience.
Food was delicious. However we felt as though too much attention from staff and perhaps made the dining experience feel rushed.
