Great lunch, food service was slow- expect to take 1hr+ for lunch service. The restaurant was not busy- 2 members of our group left w their food and we’re not able to stay and enjoy their lunch.

Very slow service. I don’t think it was the server’s fault, seems like not enough staff. This is the second time we’ve tried to go before a hockey game and have had slow service. Last time we were seated at the bar and cold air was blasting on us each time the outside door opened. We had reservations both times. Thought we’d give it a second try because the food is good and different.

The level of service has declined since our last four visits. Wrong food order, wine not opened correctly, no understanding or ability to describe the dishes. We are taking a break from what was our favourite restaurant.

It was my worst experience ever! Unfortunately for the Resteraunt I do not eat meat, nor saucy nor fried foods, so it really leaves me with very little choice. My very forceful husband made me go there (i’m probably the coldest night this year), I asked him what am I gonna eat and his answer was veggies- so here we go lol When Gurjeet the manager asked me what I like, I said some clean (grilled) vegetables and if there’s tofu, great, and he asked me is coconut milk fine, I said sure a little. So this regurgitated yellowy soupy baby looking kind of (I think food) yucky yikes yuck disgusting. So despite me saying I do not want anything, he forced me to order some thing, so they concocted some broccoli and cauliflower I think that’s what it was, it was soft and mushy I have never tasted cauliflower that had marshmallow texture so gross I spat it out. So after turning that away as it’s not Edible, he did not come back but charged us $20 for some frozen boiled vegetables. I love to pay but I hate feeling ripped off. If guru had some quality ingredients this would never happen. I hate to write this review but I feel so wrong. I called the restaurant three days ago and you have to understand I do not ever review, unless it’s grotesquely traumatizing, which this experience has been. He did not respond. I’m in the service industry and when somebody asks for something I’m unable to provide I would highly recommend them to go to somebody that can give them what they are asking for. And in the situation that was not the case and that’s why I’m so angry. Oh did I mention it was my birthday.🤕

They do a great job of getting customers drinks and food on Oilers game night and not making people wait and get impatient. Lots of diners were on their way to the game and had obviously been there before.

we made a reservation at 6 pm on Oiler‘s game night. When we arrived, there was already another party waiting for the host in front of us. After about 5 minutes, there was still no host, and the party in front of us left. We waited for another 15 minutes, and there was no host to greet us. There were other parties which arrived after us, and left. I asked a server, and I was told the host will be right with us. After waiting for a while, I interrupted a staff from the kitchen, and again, she told us she would find a host. Meanwhile, we see there were only 2 servers running around, and agreed that even if we got seated, we weren’t sure how fast the service would be. We left at 6:30pm, and ate somewhere else. Very disappointing.

Excellent friendly service and great food. We ordered the wine pairing menu which was very tasty and great value. They also have an extensive wine menu. It tends to get very busy before hockey games and shows. We timed it after the rush and had a great evening. Chicken and fish dishes both Excellent. Great presentation.

Great having the Guru experience both downtown and in the west end. It’ll be great before a game or concert and will be great on a hot summer day on their deck (I’m thing Spinach Chat and a Cold Beer). Lots of new items to try as well as a few of our favourites.

Service could be better, the server was all over the place. Waited 20 minutes for the waitress to find a bartender to pour our drinks, she said the bartender was MIA. Food was excellent, and wished I could have eaten more.

Terrible service but nice ambience and tasty food. Ordered a glass of wine and after watching our waitress try to find the right bottle while we ate half of our lunch it finally appeared. Rice came when 2/3 done our lunch. I wouldn’t go back for a few months while they fix their service issues.

Guru 170th is amazing and somehow they managed to improve on that formula. It is beautifully decorated with the downtown ultra high end feel. The food is phenomenal! Perfect for a date night or special occasion- we loved it!

Been a fan of their west location for a long time, was so happy to see them open up in the Ice District. This location is even better than the original. Why? Location, beautiful space, couple of nice private dining spaces, extensive/thoughtful/well-priced wine list. Same great service and beautiful food. And a really nice bar for single diners or pre-meal cocktails. You can even watch the game there. And Gurjeet is such a gracious host. A win for downtown Edmonton for sure.
