Barbecue
At HotBox we use a combination of kiln dried Hickory and Oak in our 1 tonne Rotisserie Smoker. The meat is dry rubbed and cooked low and slow(ly) to create tender, succulent cuts that melt in the mouth. Be careful though, theres plenty of spice to get those taste buds fired up!

Please note our BAR reservations are for our downstairs bar 46&Mercy, and not the restaurant. We have a special snack menu available for our bar.

Went Saturday at 12, got seated right away and then greeted by Paige. Paige was so nice, bubbly and really looked after us. If you go and have Paige then you will have a brilliant time

Food was amazing as always!! We we sat near the door, which was super cold and windy, so we moved ourselves. We ordered pancakes, which didn't arrive as the traditional pancakes that were on the menu (due to it being pancake day) which was a delightful surprise but some people may want to know what they've ordered. The noise level due to the music was actually really high for a tuesday lunchtime, i know it's much worse to be quiet when a restaurant isn't massively busy, but maybe there's a medium in-between loud and silence. I've loved the food everytime I've ever been here but this trip seemed quite expensive for 2 as it came to £50 for 2 items on the brunch menu and 2 non alcoholic drinks. I will be back but probably only when there is bottomless brunch on or a deal! ...And the surprise oreo pancakes were so delicious!!

Overall, a brilliant brunch- the food is amazing, couldn’t fault the service and also, my disability was accommodated easily and respectfully. The only downside was that because of my health, I’m limited to certain drinks (don’t drink alcohol very much and have to avoid citrus) so the drink I wanted wasn’t available but that’s quite minor in the grand scheme of things.

Online reviews were highly overhyped. Tacos were swimming in oil, Mac and cheese, which I had read was the best in London, was runny and hugely disappointing. On top of that, service was either far too fast when we arrived, meaning what should have been a nicely paced meal was over in 30 minutes; cut to when we want to leave, and we had to wait for about 15+ minutes for someone to take our money.

First time me and my friends have visited and we were well happy with the service and quality of food. I'm still thinking how yummy the pork belly and soft shell crab was. I'll definitely come again, staff were very attentive and customer service skills were on point. See you soon ❤️

Great food, poor service waiters knew little about the menu and there were no side plates available which made it difficult to share food. The music was also so loud it made it difficult to have a conversation.

I had the bottomless brunch.
If you like bbq food the food is really good. The experience itself I wouldn’t recommend . We booked a table for 2 at 12pm, they tried to squeeze us at the stalls seat when there were plenty of seats at the shared tables. I asked about it and they were nice enough to move us to a shared table after I pointed all the empty seats . By the end of our 2 hours all those stall seats where full and there still plenty of tables around that could have fitted those people.

The drinks are ok, the sangria was not nice so we stuck to mimosas. Plenty of drinks and serving but the 2hr service is actually a 1.45hr service, they bring the bill on the dot and stop serving drinks 15min before your a slot ends. My husband was asked to leave the table few minutes before 2pm while I was in the toilette getting ready to leave .

The food was served 30 min after we ordered but we weren’t given any explanation for the delay or why others that arrived after were served before us.

Overall a poor experience. I wouldn’t returner recomendo to anyone. We had 1.15min to eat and 1.45 min to drink not taking into account the time we wasted asking to be moved to a table.

I really find out of order when a restaurant tries to squeeze people in the worst seats as possible when they have plenty of good ones.

The positive note was that our waiter was always serving us drinks without us having to ask for and he was very polite . I suppose the delay in the food was not down to him.

Service pretty poor and £60 a head for burgers and wings with some wine and cocktails was a bit steep. Only half of us got our drinks and we were told they were busy when we asked where the rest of the drinks were. Same with the food. Wouldn’t recommend.

Took my friend here for a birthday meal, and it was perfect. Good atmosphere, great food and portion sizes and best of all the food was seasoned perfectly. I have no complaints. My friend who is notorious for being picky was also happy, so bonus points. I highly Recommend the brisket fries and the crab slider!

I cannot rate the food at Hotbox enough! The meat is out of this world. We have been several times and it is mouth wateringly good. We had a great nite and they were very patient with us when a few of our party were late. My one criticism is the price of the drinks and that’s where they get you. £7.50 for a measure of Jameson!!! And another £1.50 for the splash of coke. Don’t know how they can’t justify that. Please Hotbox, charge a reasonable price for your measures. Also a suggested gratuity is added to the bill at 12.5% - so factor that in.

Great meal and atmosphere. However the mood was soured when I waiter brought us the bill before we had finished and then said we had 2 minutes to leave our table. When I said we’d leave a cash tip rather than putting it on the card the waiters attitude turned and we were prompted to leave by the front of house staff. There were free tables around us so we couldn’t understand why we were being pressured to leave having spent over £200! Such a shame and a great way for the staff to lose their tip altogether.

We weren’t having bottomless brunch, however the waiters / waiteresses were clearly on a go-slow so that customers could not take advantage of the offer. Also don’t serve tea or coffee at brunch.

The food was amazing - however, a few things had run out (like the ribs - the main reason we came!) which was a shame considering we were there at 12 o'clock . Also, I knew it was shared tables, but it is really quite cramped. However, I have to admit the food is really really good. It's just a shame it was offset by the above.

Such a disappointment. First of all to note the young lad that did serve us was excellent and the service rating is no reflection on him it's on the hostesses that crammed a group of 4 people onto a 'sharing' table of 6 when other groups of 2 were given tables for 6 to themselves. We were told it's a social experience where you meet other people - we are a group of grown up adults who don't see each other very often and certainly didn't need to make to new friends. The website does not promote this as part of their offer - we wouldn't have booked. Even on pushing it we were told no and that everyone has to share tables this clearly wasn't the case as other couples were given their own tables. Welcome was appalling we booked a table for 11.30 arrived 10 minutes early and were told to come back rather than be allowed to wait at the table. The 2 hr bottomless drink is a joke as werent even offered a drink until we were 15 minutes in and told last order is 15 minutes before our timeslot ends - so less than 1.5hrs technically. There were so many staff stood around doing nothing and chatting while customers were waiting to order. Quality of food was hit and miss burgers were very good to be fair while the mac n cheese was the worse all 4 of us had ever tasted. Finally and more insulting we paid the bill and left a £20 tip (for the lad who had worked hard to try and provide us good service) and he was sent back to ask why we didn't give the full recommended amount - joke. This place is trying way to hard to be cool and needs to think harder about customer experience.

Requested to add 2 more people to the table which was approved. Service was horrerable, the lady servicing us was very moody and expected us to pay service charge. No bye or thank you from the lady even though we as customer said thank you. Overpriced and most of the food taste the same as they add the bbq sauce to everything, but very well cooked.
