Hudson House - Lovers Lane
Based on the rich culinary history of the Hudson Valley, Hudson House aims to pair that style of comfort food with the neighborhood vibe of the West Village in New York City.
We had a wonderful Happy Hour experience which led to a spirited dinner. The oysters were spot on, and fun to compare flavors with our fellow diners. The atmosphere is the perfect mix of lively conversation and quite table conversation. Definitely, recommend. Reservations are a good idea.
Service was incredibly impressive. Great personality, quick service, interesting recommendations that were proven to be excellent choices.
We have been here several times and the food, service and space was wonderful
We ordered the Royal Seafood tower and it was fabulous. The cocktails came out fast and cold and the server was very intuitive of our dining’s needs.
Will be returning happily.
Donavan is awesome!!! Great vibe! Good drinks. Love the neighborhood bar :)
Great place. Noise level loud, but just because it is fun!
Noyb none of your business . I appear forced to provide this in order to make a reservation at another restaurant
Best for those who like fish or seafood Great appetizers
I made a reservation last minute the evening of Father's Day. We were early, seated us immediately. The Beverly Salad was the best I've ever had, French Chicken Delicious, my three year old loved the chicken nugget appetizer. Only disappointment they were out of the shrimp cocktail so had to order the oysters, bummer (no really).
We had a great time celebrating the best dad in the world. The oysters were legit. Little disappointed in the garnishes. Could of been presented in a better manner. But
our daughter loved the chicken sandwich. The red fish was awesome. And the Broccolini was our favorite. The Oreo cheesecake was some of the best we have had.
Overall great meal and service. We will definitely go back.
as always, a vibrant, warm time spent with family- great food and great ambiance!
We always enjoy Hudson House. A++ service and great food.
Great service. Great food! Something for everyone. Our party’s ages ranged from 3 to 81.
As always, Hudson House does not disappoint. Chelsea was most professional & deserves a mention.
Good food as usual. Service not as good as usual. Booths a bit too small to seat 5 or 6.
Awesome food and presentation.
Great East Coast Oyster selection, plus they have good non-seafood options for those that prefer different selection. Nice wine list and service is always good. Love the happy Hour as well.
Arrived at 7. Guest arrived 10 minutes later. Took 20 minutes to get a margarita. Took over an hour after ordering main course. Food was fantastic but serious service issues. Manager apologized and reduced our bill, which he deserves credit for. But a nightmare that lasted nearly 3 hours.
Our favorite spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience this night. The chips served with the whip guacamole were stale. I ordered the red fish and when they served it the fish was a very small piece, maybe 3oz. When I questioned it, I did not get a helpful answer. After we had finished our meal, they brought another plate to me but it was a different fish. Also, I ordered a glass of wine and it was served 20 minutes later. Perhaps they were just super busy that night but the food and service was not up to par.
Cute place with a great special on Mondays! (half off bottles of wine!)
Friends suggest we meet for dinner. Wonderful choice. I had a steak and wife had halibut. We both enjoyed the meal. Excellent margaritas 😍. I definitely will return.
GREAT FOOD FUN ATMOSPHERE! I always enjoy this neighborhood spot
Very cool restaurant, above average food, but our waiter was awful.
Simply thrilled with our night out here last weekend! Perfect evening, filled with great food / martinis, lovely service, awesome ambiance & incredible service!
THANK YOU HUDSON HOUSE!!
You’re on our favorites list for Dallas now !
We went to Hudson House for my birthday dinner, and the food and the service were awesome. My only slightly negative comment is that it was SO LOUD when we first got there at 8:30pm. The waitress had to lean in to my husband and me to hear our drink orders. Admittedly, they were packed, but some noise reduction insulation (maybe up in the exposed ceiling area?) would make a world of difference.
Once the restaurant cleared out a bit, the noise level was much more manageable. Overall, the food was awesome and we enjoyed our meal and the service.
The food and drink were excellent. The sound level was just a bit too high for quiet conversation,, but overall manageable. I will definitely return.
Great ambiance. Good description of menu. Halibut with “real butter” (there are about 5 sauce prep’s to pick from) was a little dry. They brought dynamite & miso afterwards for dipping and it was much better. We Also got the burger and it was delicious. Tell them medium rare if you want any pink a all. Juicy & delicious. Need better wine selections. Only having two in category isn’t enough. The favorite on the list this visit was shrimp cocktail. Crisp, plump & two sauce dips. Skinny fries never disappoint.
Love Hudson House! The food is incredible and the decor is
Food and drinks were good but service was slow. It took 15 minutes from being seated to receive our first round of drinks. To be fair, we were visiting over the Memorial Day weekend, but this establishment seemed short staffed relative to the number of seated guests as well as those at the very busy bar.
Always the best! The burger is amazing. We loved everything.
Really enjoyed the drinks, food, atmosphere. Will be back!
I love this restaurant. I have been twice in a week.
I have already recommended Hudson House! Good food and easy atmosphere!
Had a rude waitress, but experience was great besides that.
It truly reminded me of being back in West New York.
Outstanding in every way!!!!! I have been many times, the service and food are always excellent...
I took a client to lunch yesterday at Hudson House and I have to say that the food was beyond reproach. The Oysters and the Au Gratin Potatoes were the best that I've ever had.
The Crab Legs were extremely overpriced for what you get on the plate. And, they were supposed to be pre-cut since they don't give you a crab-leg cracker (or a tiny fork for that matter) - but they weren't and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be cut.
My colleague who was with me said that her Salmon Salad was amazing! It was huge and she still ate every single bite of it; yes - it was that good!
The only disappointing part was how long we were there. Got there at Noon and didn't leave until 1:50pm. That may be fine for all of the "ladies who lunch" out there, but is completely unacceptable for those of us on a work-hour lunch who have to get back to the office. I saw that there were people who arrived after us and left before us, so I'm not exactly sure what the problem was. There was only 3 of us, and although the restaurant was crowded, it wasn't "that" crowded. It absolutely should not have taken an hour and 50 minutes.
I highly recommend it for the food, but if you are in a hurry (or even expect a reasonable in & out lunch place during the workday) - you may want to skip this place as a lunch destination and go for dinner when there's likely less of a time constraint with someone's normal schedule.
And say Yes to the Oysters and Au Gratin Potatoes, but no to the overpriced Crab Legs (which don't even come with melted butter).
Scallops! They were the best I've had outside of a place in NYC.
Oysters! One of our favorite places locally. They are prepped, presented, and taste just right.
All of our meals were really tasty from fish to salads, lobster roll, and more. Aps were a bit weaker than the food.
The drinks are mixed just right. Lots of choices. We will be back again and again.
