   We decided to try Hull and Oak as a new brunch/lunch. However left after 45 minutes. The staff never came by for service, even though we were the only table besides one other in the restaurant. Ended up leaving and going to another restaurant. Would not try again.

   The bartender in the lobby where we were seated was incredible! He had so many tables to serve but he was personable, funny, just an absolute breath of fresh air!

   We had an experience of a random person coming to our table and eating the chocolate cake off our plate. Not once but twice were we approached by this person without shoes on. No one was at the hostess table to stop this from happen. It was scary and the worse experience from any restaurant we’ve ever had. The staff did gift us the chocolate cake. Later they showed up to deliver a bottle of wine as an “I’m sorry.” We were grateful for this; however, the experience is something I will never forget. I just wanted to feel protected during our dinner, and I did not feel safe. It was very sad.

   The food was fenomenal some of the best, if not, tasting food I've had in years. The service is inconsistent. The host was very nice and professional and then it went down hill. Our table was to small and up against a partition which made using the cutlery burdensome. We both don't drink alcoholic beverages and all we were offered was water. We went for Valentine's dinner an were given their Valentine's menu and one of the entrees was not available. The decor is simple and quite tasteful but the music did not go with the place. I would say Hull & Oak is going thru an identity crisis. Is it Fine Dinning or Southern Comfort or Lounge? Hard to tell. The food made up for it, very delicious.

   The food was pretty tasty but overpriced. The service was lacking. We were not offered drinks or a drink menu - only water. I ordered a salad, and when it arrived, I sent it back because it was not the salad I ordered. They initially indicated that I was in the wrong, then ultimately agreed they had prepared the wrong salad. The second salad was still not right. They substituted pecans for garbanzo beans, which, in my opinion, is a dreadful substitution. I couldn't tell you whether they have dessert. They brought us the check before we were even done with dinner.

   I was celebrating my birthday with my family and the experience was overall lackluster. The service was decent but the food took a unreasonable amount of time to come out. My meal came about 20 minutes after the other meals. The boudin balls were the best thing we ordered, but the other dishes were terrible. The Caesar salad was not dressed and the grilled cheese was not toasted and cheese was not melted. In my opinion, the meal was overpriced for the quality and dining experience. The restaurant was clean and attractive, but it was very drafty and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be returning.

   The food was delicious. Service was maybe average. There were 2 others diners when I arrived but the waitress acted like she was terribly busy and took so much time to get back with me on a bar question, checking up, paying, etc. The waitress also made me feel I was taking her away from something more important than her job. The fake facade was obvious. One of the 2 other diners had ordered before I arrived but got his food way after I got mine. The waitress kept walking by and telling him it will be out shortly, that was it. Again, 3 people total and no carryouts that I saw. I recommend the food but would think again about returning due to service. Would recommend the food though.

    Had a reservation at 130 didn’t get seated until 155. Server then told me that I have to order within 5 minutes or we wouldn’t be served.

    2nd time here. Good brunch. We got a better mimosa deal this time. Music good. Where did all the darkness come from? Went to lunge relaxed more darkness but enjoyed the race.

    Went for New Years Day hangover brunch, they had an advertised special price on their website. The energy as great, it was a really cute place and it seems like the DJ is a regular thing for their Sunday brunch. Food was pretty good, service however was extremely slow. The manager was doing her best to help out the servers but the servers were just kinda lost… and it wasn’t actually all that busy. They had zero idea about the special price listed on the website and it took lots of back and forth to get it honored. Also just FYI they are entirely cash less. I’d try it one more time but the service definitely needs work.

    The food was fantastic, but the service wasn’t great. They were nice enough but took a long time to take our order and then our server went missing. There was a DJ that was way too loud for the size of the space.

    No! My waiter never returned to take my order, the menu was limited, there was no bartender on staff - meaning only wine & beer. To top it off, the drink had a gnat in it. The valet was nice.

    For starters we stood up front for about 10/15 min and no one came, so I called and someone came up front. Then we got seated and orders were taken. Things began to smooth out from there. It’s not anything to write home about but if you want a quiet meal, you can’t go wrong choosing this spot.

    Didn’t have either of the 2 wines requested nor the dessert option we requested. Not busy at all. Dress code business casual, but most diners were wearing their work clothes as in they work at the hotel and were not wearing business attire. The steaks were greasy and undercooked. Service was subpar, but friendly. Was expecting so much more from a Marriott Signature hotel.

    With only two tables occupied our food took almost an hour to arrive. The food itself was very good, but the service and ambience were horrible. The noise level from the other table was overwhelming and interfered with our ability to talk at our table. I will not go back.

    1st time here. Kinda tough to find. Used GPS, parked fine on curb, free Sunday pkg, but had to find the restaurant inside a hotel, upstairs. We did not see any signage to help guide us. Anyway, all good check in b/c when we were seated we were the only diners. Our waiter was confused on bottomless mimosas so he went to get help and we had a completely different waitress the rest of our visit which is fine. The food was delicious indeed. We ordered bottomless mimosas but they would not serve it in kraft. We had at least 3 drinks but then they informed us they close at 2pm!?! Ugh so bottomless deal EXPIRED ha! Bummer... But we enjoyed the DJ tunes playing good ol country and Southern tunes. The south will rise again!

    Food was decent, eggs were cold and it took an hour to get 2 meals and there were only two tables in the restaurant (ours was one of them). Waitress could’ve been more attentive but she was kind and took care of us well enough. Music was great but a little too loud and maybe not the right genre for brunch and families that started trickling in with kids (90’s/early 2000’s r&b sex songs). Would not go again nor recommend unfortunately.

    We went for brunch on a Saturday morning. Dining room was only about 1/4 full, if that. We were seated promptly, served water & ordered coffee. Coffee came quickly & we ordered. That’s when things took a turn. We waited over a half an hour for an omelette & 2 beef tacos. The wait staff was pleasant & was aware that the kitchen was slow, but no real explanation. The food was okay, but not excellent for the $20 / entree price.

    We were the only people in the restaurant. Didn’t have two of the wines that we ordered. Hatch hummus didn’t taste like there was any hatch in it. Pita bread was nice. Chopped salad was half boiled egg. Salmon was good. Dressing with the salmon was exceptional and highlight of the meal. Valet was friendly and efficient!

    This place needs a LOT of work. First off, it is inside the Laura Hotel. There are no signs outside that state that Hull and Oak is inside on the second floor. Also, there are no signs on the first floor that mention where the restaurant is. Also, service needs work here. One of the employees (an older African American man) could be heard loudly complaining about one of the tables he was waiting on. Also, the manager (a Black woman) came over to our table and said "We'll be re-arranging the restaurant for an event at 2:00pm. Since ya'll were late, I just wanted to make sure that is okay with you." Yes, we were a bit late, our reservation was at 1:15pm and we arrived at 1:25pm (on account of not being able to find where this restaurant was). She wasn't very professional. The staff here has no idea how to run a restaurant or how to be professional. The only positives were the DJ (the tunes were good until he wrapped at 1:30) and the food. However, the person that I dined with mentioned her potatoes were cold. But due to all the other issues I will not come back nor refer this place

    Hull & Oak was fantastic. The service as superb, the food was delicious, and the chef and manager both came by our table. I've been telling people about my experience ever since I visited with my Influencer friend who knew this place would be grand. It did not disappoint.

    Just visiting Houston for one night and staying at the Laura Hotel. Had dinner here at 630pm on a Friday night… the hotel bar was busy but the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. A little pricey for Southern comfort food but everything was absolutely delicious. Was not disappointed in the least. My husband and I had deviled eggs, fried Brussel sprouts, succotash corn with bacon, salmon and meatballs served over grits. They started with nice hot muffins that were also amazing. Would eat here again tomorrow if I was staying in town!

    We had a great experience at brunch on mother's day. The food was delicious and the ambience was very nice with some light background music played by a DJ. While we had some service issues, I think it was limited to a new server in training. Would definitely recommend trying the restaurant.
