   Excellent food packed with flavor. Devastating service. Completely unfair to our waitress to make her try to wait on that many tables, extreme delays and many errors.

   We were at a party of five celebrating a birthday, and were given a table in the back next to the kitchen even though the restaurant was basically empty. We ordered a starter, which was delicious and then three salads, a fish sandwich and a bowl of soup and it was about 30 minutes before the food arrived. Two of the salads were made of tired romaine and other ingredients not proportioned well. Overall not a terrible experience but not what we had come to expect at Insalata.

   I have heard so many glowing reviews of Insalata's and they were true. We enjoyed a lovely birthday celebration, with excellent service, food, wine and quiet enough for us to talk and laugh! I'll be back for special occasions or when I crave those eggplant fries and other unique dishes!

    Insalata's is my go-to for dinner, lunch with friends, special occasions, and business lunches. This was a business lunch. The servers are consistently efficient, friendly, knowledgeable but they do not hover. Everyone always loves their meals, too, as they are beautifully presented and so very yummy. I had the fried fish sandwich, which I had last week as well. It is soooo delicious! The fish is light and flaky, and the aioli has just enough "kick" to make it special. My tablemates thoroughly enjoyed their meals, too. One had the vegetarian platter and the other had the salmon Fattoush salad. They devoured their food, too. It was a very rainy Monday, but the scene was upbeat and lively for lunch.

    We had a lovely evening last night at Insalata's. The food was delicious and all enjoyed their entrees including the Middle Eastern Vegetarian Platter, the Bavette Steak and the Flounder. The service was very good but the wine list was out of date and we were not able to get the first two we chose. We will definitely return

    We were going to eat outdoors, but the weather was so stormy that the hostess kindling accommodated our request to dine indoors. Two of us had the very good soup and chicken Fatoush salad combo, and my husband enjoyed his lamb burger! We shared the plate of three biscotti with our coffees for dessert. When I went to the restroom I passed the large number of folks at the to-go/deli counter. Everything looked fabulous!

    Always excellent ambience, wait staff and food. Great place to have a conversation without fighting unnecessary noise created to give illusion of excitement. When I haven’t seen someone for a while and need time to connect and catch up Insalata’s is perfect and it’s also great for special occasions.

    Very hard to find fault with Marin County's premier restaurant. Two tiny defects: 1. Ambience slightly dented by too much sound -- everybody was behaving just fine, but the place was almost full and louder than I wanted. 2. One of the entrees, the lamb burger, was delicious but positively too big for some fairly vigorous carnivores, who may find it too good to stop eating and at the same time overwhelmed by wanting to. Perhaps offer a 3/4-burger as an alternative, even if at the same price. These minor cavils will not be enough to keep me from enthusiastically urging friends to enjoy Insalata, and to keep on doing so myself.

    One of Marin County's all-time favorite restaurants. We have eaten there multiple times over the years I have never had a bad meal and service is always great and the food is delicious with great choices and a moderately priced wine list and available bar. There are also great takeout selections in their deli section including the best soup you will ever have.

    The food here never disappoints. My vegetarian platter had the perfect mix of components and was more than I could finish. I'm not even vegetarian, but everything in the plate is delicious, lemon lentils, curried spinach, delicata squash and tomato pistachio relish, turkish yogurt. I could eat this everyday. Yum! My husband had the 1/2 roast chicken with tahini yogurt, butternut squash, kale, preserved lemon. His favorite.

    The three of us each had a different entree and all were excellent. The unique spices on the chicken were most flavorful. The soup was delicious as was the salmon and flounder. The service was friendly and efficient even though the restaurant was crowded. Wine and cocktail selections are varied and good. Consistently one of the best restaurants in Marin by far.

    We love Insalatas but the service was horrible. The serve did not even make eye contact, and we waited for about 45 minutes to be served food. Even when they came, they dumped the food off. No graciousness. That is NOT what Insalatas is like, in fact, the opposite. Also, we used to get their Fattosh salads for take out, but then kept getting lettuce that was dirty and old. I'm worried that they are having difficult getting staff, and this is such a beautiful restaurant. I am only writing this because I think this is just a blip, and they will return to the AMAZING service and care they have had in the past! I hope so!

    We went for Valentines Dinner, which was not a normal night. They offered a fixed price meal - all 4 entrees sounded good, ample use of seasonal ingredients. My husband had the short ribs and I had the duck. Probably due to the crush of diners on this night, my dish was delicious, but the farro and broccoli was slightly undercooked. That's ok, I'll be back to Insalata again and again. The waiter was top notch professional - lovely atmosphere, lovely greeting upon entry - my favorite..

    Nice vibe. Very knowledgeable server. They have our favorite cocktail which isn't always easy to find (Pisco Sour) and made it VERY well. Ambiance good. Food good to very good. Mezze Platter is different than we are used to but was a nice discovery. Chicken was outstanding. Perfectly cooked. Server was professional and very informed about wine and cocktails. Portions are pretty large. We shared a starter and one dish and it was plenty. We would go back for sure.

    The food is consistently excellent. The wait staff and host are always welcoming and professional. The added plus is the ability to purchase food, at the counter in the back, that is of the same high quality. BTW Yummy cookies!!! This is a great place to go for every type of occasion from lunch to romantic dinners.
