Although we had dined an international smoke previously, it was at Las Vegas location. The service was even better this time at this location in San Francisco and the food. Both times has been quite tasty and beautifully plated. I highly recommend for those who enjoy a fine dining barbecue experience. This is not your uncle Bob’s barbecue so don’t expect half the menu to be meats and the other half to be only vegetables. It is an extremely well put together menu and I cannot recommend the pork belly bao buns enough! This is a must try for anyone who goes to international smoke!!!

Having eaten here before, we were very much looking forward to having Thanksgiving meal here. It was a very disappointing experience… 45” wait to be seated, long lines to get to the food…that would have been ok had the food been worth the wait… it was not! I love my beef med-rare, but the prime rib was raw, the turkey was pink (not smoked pink) and bloody where the guy was carving it. Salmon and pork ribs ok and sides ok but all room temp or lukewarm. But I wanted turkey and beef and it was not edible in my opinion. Could have had more than 3 dessert options since they were bite size. Overall, just a sad money grab on their part. *App not allowing me to add pictures.

Dined for Thanksgiving this year. So very disappointed. First, the restaurant was sold out for the Holiday and there was only 1 single file line for the buffet and everyone had to wait in a long line (30 minutes) for self serving themselves from the buffet. On the buffet, all of the hot food was extremely luke warm or cold (absolutely ridiculous). The salads were not on ice which is extremely dangerous for bacteria. And the worst, the turkey was not cooked through (it was raw!!!) there was blood coming from the bones and joints on the carving station. The advertised Wagu prime rib was not rare or med well it was barely seared/browned on the outside and totally raw inside. There was blood everywhere during carving. I will never eat at Int’l Smoke Again.

Thanksgiving brunch buffet epic fail. Single-file line through the buffet for newcomers as well as those getting seconds led to wait times of 30-45 minutes just to get to the food. Turkey was undercooked and unsafe to eat with bloody juices and not browned at all. Wagyu prime rib was over salted and essentially raw. Ribs were steamed and slathered with a sauce reminiscent of McDonalds ketchup and mustard. Sides were all forgettable. Desserts were the only edible item. Mandatory 20% gratuity unannounced and added to all party sizes. Manager said that the brunch was overbooked by 200 people, which in itself is the cause of the problematic service and no excuse. No apologies were offered. If this is representative of the restaurant, then I will not return and I would recommend that others avoid altogether with so many other options in SF.

We loved the food! Although we were a bit disappointed a lot of their items were sold out. We wanted to get the Mexico tasting menu and unfortunately by 8:30 pm they were completely sold out :( we ended up ordering a la cart and it was still good but not what we initially wanted

Had 1/2 rack of ribs with American sauce, was VERY tasty, actually meat on the bones. Also, Black Truffle Caesar Salad with Chicken; the dressing was very good and the chicken was very moist with a "kick." Shared garlic noodles (Used fat wavy -possibly fusilli noodles) very good and garlicy, and last was the S'mores without the marshmallow - dark chocolate was very good. The only thing missing was good San Francisco (Acme or Boudin) bread. Lots of sauces (ribs, Caesar Salad, Garlic Noodles) but nothing to soak up all that good sauce. (There is cornbread on the menu, but contains shellfish and there was an allergy concern.)

I came here for my birthday, the food was okay, nothing to run back to. I was asked if this was my first visit. It was for my husband, second for me. We did the Jamaican tasting menu, but nothing stood out. Although served small, it was not good enough to finish the plate. We have had three servers come to us, but I think they were waiting for us to empty our plates. At one time, it was taken away, and I was not finished. It was with the rib and pickle. I loved the pickle on the plate. On my reservation, I mentioned it was my birthday. It was not acknowledged, which was disappointing. I did not want to place a review because I was not satisfied with the visit, but I thought the establishment would know, so maybe they could improve customer service.

Service was off - we ordered the tasting menu with beverage pairing. Beverages came well after the course pairing and we also had to ask our servers multiple times to request the beverages. Our server forgot about us mid meal and it took a long time to take our order for more drinks. The kitchen was fast and food was good but not great.

The Michael Mina Group and Aeysha Curry's Team have given us a fabulous restaurant for a night out in Downtown SF! The service is outstanding and very attentive. We were made to feel special from the beginning. The Server made recommendations off the menu which turned out to be spot on! Wonderful wine list as well. Great place for Special Occasions or business dinners on an expense account. I would highly recommend this to our VIP guests.

International Smoke is a dining experience that everyone should have on their must experience list. My wife and I plan on going back every time we’re in SF. (2-3x per yr) The food is incredible, creative yet familiar, filling and satisfying without the bloat of bad ingredients or preparation. Everything is fresh and so flavorful. The staff is attentive without hovering, very welcoming. There are some dishes that are subtly over the top but done in such a balanced way that it’s a refreshingly new variation on a familiar theme and you don’t have the feeling you’re part of an experiment. Also, you will leave satisfied and full. Great portions. I give this place an O for outstanding. For Mac and cheese and cornbread lovers, you’ve come home!!
