    The place was packed and the noise level was nearly deafening, so we asked to be moved to a table in the back. the staff were terrific and set us up as soon as a two-top opened. Everything else was perfect. wonderful food, nicely paced with delivery, delicious Sangria, attentive but not pushy service. A favorite place.

    Always delicious. Indoor dining is loud. If you want to have a conversation, better to be outside. However, outside service was slow, not as attentive. But the food never disappoints.

    Esperaba un poco más, un menú mas variado/elaborado y definitivamente una atención más profesional. En general esta muy rico, los platillos bien presentados y la sazón esta bien, si no esperas mucho te sorprende pero si esperas una experiencia culinaria de un celebrity chef.... pues se queda corto.

    Bad open table experience. Short staffed And they didn’t honor the reservation. I arrived early, was told to wait 5 minutes, and watched them seat other parties for 20 minutes only to be finally offered the last table in the direct sun. Caution when booking on open table- they may not “find” your reservation.

    Jaleo is one of our favorite restaurants in DC. We went for our wedding anniversary. We sat outside on 7th street. Seating was comfortable and a bit noisy of course because we were outside. Food was great as always although I noticed that some portions seemed smaller than the last time we dined there. Service was excellent.

    Only enjoyed half the food. Staff was nice. Tables seemed a bit cramped.We did Joes way chef tasting menu. Gin flight was good.

    Went for an early brunch -- there were four of us. We sat in a table at the window in comfortable chairs and were instantly greeted by our waiter. She brought us water, took a drink order and explained the menu. Our food was quick to arrive and every dish delicious. Our favorites were probably the deviously simple pan de Cristal con tomate-- with it's wood fired crisp bread, sea salt and fresh tomatoes and the traditional gambas (shrimp in garlic). For dessert we ordered the torrijas con plantain which was a cross between a flan and French toast with the most delicious cartelized bananas on top. All the portions were enough to share among 4 people and we throughly enjoyed the entire experience. We will be back.

    Mediocre. Booked based on Spanish food &amp; disappointed in that and overall experience. Crowded with tables tightly crushed together. Tapa sizes were small (as tapas should be) but very overpriced for content. Wine was fine but again overpriced. We will not be going back.

    Unfortunately the quality of the food has gone down. It used to have the fresh made feel to it but now it seems processed and almost fast-food like. It is still a popular place and they serve a lot of people each night, and I will continue to support Jose Andre in his restaurants and philanthropy, but won’t rush back.

    The food and service was outstanding. The four of us agreed the dishes were better than ever! Our waiter went above and beyond. The restaurant was packed and moving about with heavy trays is no easy task - we could see it was demanding for our waitress and yet she was all smiles, anticipated our needs and made our experience fun and pleasurable. It’s a little noisy but we were able to hold a conversation without shouting. We loved the spirited and fun atmosphere. I highly recommend Jaleo’s and am disappointed it was replaced with Spanish Diner in Bethesda.

    Food was great, service was decent. Not the best tapas place I’ve been to, but would recommend it to a friend. The atmosphere is a little odd but they have a nice patio.
