Jikoni's menu is guided by Chef Patron and award-wining food writer Ravinder Bhogal, who’s delicate hand with flavours and global mixed-heritage cooking can be seen in the dishes. Around half of the menu is vegetarian and much of Jikoni’s produce, wines and even teas are sourced from artisan and sustainable family producers.
The restaurant is a culinary gem for foodies and frequented by off-duty chefs, restaurant types, and locals. Jikoni is nestled into the heart of London’s Marylebone neighbourhood, just a 5 minute walk from both Selfridges and Baker Street.

One of the best restaurants I have been to for a very long time. Could not fault the service, food or atmosphere.
Genuinely could go here every day for food. Definitely want to try the lunch menu.
First time visit after hearing about it on the Jay Rayner podcast. Was a little disappointed that they'd just run out of the pressed lamb and ordered the prawn khichdee as an alternative, a little reluctantly. What can I say, I'm a convert! Absolutely amazing dish. Light and complex in equal measure.
Overall we had a wonderful experience. A friendly fuss free environment, lovely staff who brought us free snacks to make up for the 'no lamb sad face'. Every dish was a winner!
We will definitely be back. One for 'the list'
Fabulous menu and a lovely wine list. The array of dishes we had were aromatic, delicious and looked beautiful too!
A very special evening with outstanding food. You won’t believe the combination of flavours and the novel dishes that are being served.
Highly recommended for foodies and anyone who likes their palate to be thrilled!
Excellent all round from terrific friendly service to the mix of ingredients and especially appreciated to the touch at the end when the bill came that the pudding was gratis due to it being the birthday of one of us. Long may it flourish.
Delicious food - unique cuisine; VERY slow service throughout the meal; acknowledgement through gritted teeth of corked wine; very noisy and poor acoustics; expensive - not good value for money; attractive quirky decor. I would only consider going back at an off peak time.
On the positive side - waiters were friendly and accommodating (we asked to switch to a table with the cushions and windows seats and the guys were happy to fulfil the request during a busy midday/early afternoon service!), food was delicious/innovative/full of flavour and lived up to the fusion theme. The atmosphere was vibrant and quirky.
Areas of improvement - we had to wait 20mins to be seated despite booking a table, which was a shame; music was perhaps a tad too loud for daytime dining in a cosy restaurant; the portions are a little small for the price.
Overall - an enjoyable experience, but could’ve been a bit better with some refinement! ;)
We had the brunch menu over Easter weekend. After reading the great reviews it turned out to be an extremely disappointing experience. The food was not even mediocre it was bad and to add insult to injury it was also overpriced. All of the eggs were overcooked, the corn was old, and the portions were very small (we each had a main and shared a starter and still left hungry). The ambiance was lovely as the restaurant is nicely decorated and has a comfortable feel. A real shame the food didn't live up to the hype.
lovely setting- warm and welcoming- good selection on the menu-
Cauliflower popcorn, Prawn Kimchee and Banana cake were just delicious. Lovely lovely people and atmosphere for a relaxing, laid back, fragrant dinner with friends.
Went for dinner with some colleagues - although I had booked two days ahead, we were seated in the back, behind the till, next to the dishes. The food was lovely and the service very friendly albeit rather slow. Overall a nice experience but would mention that the seating wasn’t ideal.
Very tasty food and a good choice for vegetarians. However, when I received the bill, I was shocked to see that I had been charged 24.00 for two small glasses of white white, which to my mind, was a very mediocre one. Although the waiters were a little serious, I found the general atmosphere quite relaxed and unfussy.
Lovely decor and exciting and unique menu. The Staff were wonderful! We went for brunch, and felt that the food was expensive for the portions and for Brunch, £15 for one egg and a broth is a bit unnecessary, even if it was yummy.
Food was incredibly bland and uninteresting. Overpriced!!!
I preferred brunch to dinner at jikoni. Great small plates. Slightly overpriced
We wanted a work dinner that wasn't too formal, and the cosy and relaxed atmosphere hit a perfect note. The servers were attentive and took time to explain each dish, and noted which items were gluten-free. The cocktails were creative and refreshing (though on the small side), and the dishes were a surprising combination of flavors from many parts of the world. The noise level was a bit of a challenge, as the music was turned up quite high and as more people came to eat it got harder to hear.
Outstanding flavours really interesting menu and they accommodated us well when we had someone who could not eat dairy without any prior warning. Cant wait to go back and try the dinner menu and brunch.
amazing food and cocktails outstanding service. loved the ambience.
A bit noisy . Food is good but was not amazed and not excited to come back
Really great meal. Loved all the dishes and the service was amazing. Really authentic vibe
Great service, excellent food! Geest forva couple to wine & dine!
Dear SarahV, Thank you so much for your kind feedback and we hope to welcome you again to Jikoni on your next visit to London! Warm Regards, Neel
This was the third time I had lunch in Jikoni- it gets better each time! It is a bright and friendly restaurant when you come in. Staff could not be nicer and helpful. The atmosphere is warm. And the food!!!! The starter, egg on toast, was wonderful, the flavour of the fishcakes to die for and the dessert, banacake, simply the dot on the i. It was a really fantastic experience-to be repeated asap!!!!
Estupenda cena. Muy buen aconsejaros pudimos probar varios platos diferentes . Muy recomendable
Really disappointing. Some interesting dishes but extremely overpriced, especially the wine list with mark ups up to 4x.
My second visit was as surprisingly as enjoyable as my first. The staff are friendly, warm and efficient. I am almost loathed to share how delicious the meal we had because I am worried I won’t be able to get a table next time. The food is really wonderful, well presented without being pretentious, innovative and not just for the sake of an additional ingredient.
Everything was absolutely delightful. I’ve been to Jikoni before, and it was just as wonderful this time.
Very nice restaurant in a lovely area! Very attentive and friendly staff that are happy to explain and recommend dishes off the menu. We had a lovely Sunday Lunch there, the noise level is low so great to have a catch up with a friend. Original dishes complete the positive experience.
Everything was just perfect about Jikoni - Food, Atmosphere and Service, you name it and it was great. My favourites were the Fish cake with curry hollandaise and Scottish eggs with BANANA chutney....yeah I said it right the banana chutney, an absolute must try from the menu. Another of my favourite was the Banana cake at the end in sticky toffee style, divine! The staff was really friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this place for Brunching out with friends, or even for a casual lunch/dinner date. :)
Great atmosphere and friendly service. Food was creative and tasty, although portions were a little smaller than I expected. Would go back though
Dined here several times. Food as always amazing. So much flavour. Only complaint would be size of tables. The two person tables are too small, particularly if you plan on sharing food.
Poor food average service high price
Rubbish bland food
Food and service was okay but some of the portion sizes were so small as to be taking the mickey out of their customers
Amazing food and lovely setting.
After reading a piece Ravinder wrote about the silly row over Marks & Spencer’s biriyani wrap. The experience at Jikhoni didn’t reflect the cost of the meal at all. Firstly, we were served the incorrect menu (veg) after checking mid-meal and being reassured we were eating the right non-veg meal. The tofu was sadly rather lack lustre. From a service point of view, although the main server was polite but generally disinterested. The wine pairings were just placed onto the table by three different servers during the meal, with no introduction or explanation into how they would compliment the dishes. When I asked what the first one was I was told ‘it’s a Moroccan white’ and little else. The setting also didn’t bring about the sense of ease and comfort I would expect in a place like this. The lighting by the window is very bright and the tables so close together you can hear conversations on both side of you. The overall cost of around £180 inc service didn’t feel reflective of the evening.
Went to celebrate my son getting engaged to his fiancee and were seated at the Chef Table downstairs as we were 10 of us which was just like being at home with the advantage of a Chef looking after us and a great attentive service.
Dear HPFAMILY, Thank you for the kind words of appreciation of all that we do here at Jikoni. Your gracious support and valuable feedback means a lot to us and we have communicated this to our team. We are glad you enjoyed your evening with us and look forward to welcoming you again soon! Yours in Service Raj
Weird Food. Not much choice. Service was 0/10. Just standing and looking at the table. Was told three time within the first hour that we have to vacate the table in two hours. Lots of other better Indian restaurants with excellent service and good food. Don’t waste your time and get disappointed. Try somewhere else instead!
We were hoping to get a better experience overall but it was slightly disappointed. The starter and mains were extremely tiny portions. The best thing about the dinner was the dessert(Banana Cake) which was fantastic and we loved it. The seating was a bit funky as well, we were the first ones to arrive at 5:30 but we were seated way in the back in such a terrible table which we didn't appreciate.
Delicious, unusual food great service, reasonably priced
Dear JaneP, Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are thrilled to know you enjoyed your dining experience at Jikoni. Looking forward to welcoming you soon! Warm Regards, Neel
Heard great things, but really wasn't impressed with the experience
