   Kalapawai Market Cafe is always great. The food and service is 5 stars. We tried new appetizers and I had the fresh fish & lemon risotto for the first time. Delicious.

    I love K Cafe but was disappointed with the Fatoosh salad. Just a couple avocado pieces, few tomatoes, canned garbanzos and overloaded with toasted pita chunks and romaine. Guests had a fish special and gave it 4.5-5 stars. Service was exceptional.

    Kai our server is the best!!!! He is so welcoming and friendly and his smile could cure a bad day. We had such a great time and didn’t feel rushed (which most restaurants do now days). The food is consistently amazing.

    Food is really good. Based on 2 experiences. Waiters are knowledgeable. But food is kind of thrown haphazardly on table when it arrives.

    We go here for the crab and artichoke dip and the hummus and pita bread! Two of our favorite appetizers!

    This us our favorite go-to spot for dinner and good times with friends. The service was awesome and the food was super tasty. Although it was a little late in the evening, the staff accommodated us and did not rush us at all. 5 stars across the board!

    Delicious food, great wait staff, a paced dining experience, a bit. Long between courses but an enjoyable dinner. Traffic in Kailua is terrible, noisy to sit outside, but eating in a wonderful town can't be beat.

    We sat on the outside patio at the back of the restaurant which can be noisy at times since it is right next to a Main Street. Food is solid - we come here every time we are in town.

    The new kitchen crew are hitting it. Finally a great dessert menu to Finish your meal. We keep coming back for the interesting pizza and great main courses. Service is very friendly and thoughtful. Wine list is good. Bring a sweater if you are eating inside it can be chilly.

    Another great dinner at Kalapawai Cafe. We were seated promptly and our waitress gave us the rundown on the specials. We ordered the goat cheese bruschetta with roasted grapes - delicious! For dinner, we chose the salmon and scallops with fingerling potatoes, purple carrots and avocado purée which was AMAZING. The salmon was a generous size (although a little disappointed there were only 2 scallops). We also got a large salad, and potato gnocchi, both excellent. We love dining here — it has a friendly vibe and is not stuffy.

    Really good dinner at the Kalapawai Cafe. The herb goat cheese and grape bruschetta was fine, but the double-cut pork chop entree was terrific. The other entrees our group had were the magi mahi special (very good) and the lemon and herb chicken (excellent). Nice laid-back atmosphere as well.

    Have been to Kalapawai Cafe many times and was a bit disappointed this visit with the food. Fish and risotto was not up to their usual best. Something was amiss but not as flavorful as usual.

    Service is usually lovely… it was just okay this time. Ordered the risotto (which I have orders many time with the fresh fish and it’s delicious) I ordered it to accompany my steak and it look hard and like it was literally sitting in a chaffing dish… it’s rice pilaf at this point, not risotto. When I stopped the waitstaff to let them know it was not good, they simply took it away. Never apologized that it wasn’t right or offer another portion. Weird “service”. I do get that post COVID it is tough to make a profit in restaurants and they have to deal with difficult clients, however, if you are in the service industry the difference between your restaurant and someone else’s will your level of service, period. Train your waitstaff on what your dishes should look like and they will know when it’s wrong. Even is the kitchen is trying to serve old food. So, if your food is not great and your service is not great then… You can do better Kalapawai. Service is everything. Thank you!
