Our first time at Katana. A short walk from the Andaz West Hollywood. We enjoyed our celebratory dinner for our 21st anniversary. The food was delicious! Our waitress Evelyn explained the concept of three separate kitchens - food would be served as each kitchen prepare the dishes. The Uni sashimi was fresh, the miso was tasty, the beef, seabass, and black cod skewers were perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious. Scott, the manager on duty, stopped by to wish us a happy anniversary. Katana treated us to champagne and the "Volcano" a delicious chocolate souffle-type dessert served with an amazing presentation! The service from everyone was perfectly timed. All staff that interacted with us was friendly. We plan to bring friends and family for future dines. Thanks Katana for a lovely anniversary dinner!
Food was delicious, drinks were great, mood was very sexy.
love katana, great service, excellent food, my first date took my girlfriend who is now my wife. best spot in LA.
Loved the ambiance, food was amazing, service was even better. 5/5 from me.
Not worth it! Overpriced skewers. No big deal and you can get it elsewhere I’m sure for much better quality and quantity.
Food was too salty , ambiance was lack luster , choice of music horrible
Evelyn was an excellent server. Justin is great at the bar.
Food is delicious and beautiful ambiance! Well worth it.
Great vibes! If you’re looking for a spot with great musics, food and drinks make your way to Katana. Be sure to RSVP!!
Great food, service and music
Mentioned we were celebrating a birthday on the reservation, was expecting some birthday love for my date but unfortunately we didn't get any birthday love 😥. Food was exceptional as always.
awesome as always
Thank you, it was awesome especially the anniversary champagne and cake!
Great ambiance & decor. Lively crowd. Very nice outdoor patio overlooking Sunset Blvd. Excellent sushi & robata, although slightly overpriced.
It’s a beautiful restaurant with an amazing food but lacking elegance, the Ambience was provocative.
Seated at open (6pm) before a show at The Comedy Store next door. Staff was attentive and very helpful from pre-arrival phone help to taking pictures, table service was on point. Ambiance of the place from the inside was nice, kinda dark with a slight din; the outside seating was open with a nice view and far enough off the street to not be breathing exhaust.
Sushi portions were appropriate size and very good quality, the grilled octopus appetizer was really tasty and my date got a king crab entree which I considered stealing.
Little more than I'm used to spending on this type of food (comparing to Portland OR) but the quality and the 'experience' were well worth it and we'll be back... Girlfriend wants to have birthday dinner there :)
Scott the bartender is awesome!
While the food was absolutely delicious the service lacked. Our waitress was fine, but the woman in charge of the floor was lacking in the customer service area. There was a miscommunication in how happy hour worked and I was sat in dining when I was there for happy hour. Right after I ordered I went to get a drink and was told I couldn’t do that. I then asked to be switched inside, mind you it was not busy at all and there were several open seats and I was told nothing could be done. This was after she went and spoke with someone and hid her face by lifting her jacket above her head so I couldn’t see what she was saying to the other gal. She was dismissive and unhelpful over an easily solved situation. Shortly after a celebrity walked in and I watched her bend over backwards to make sure he was comfortable and had what he needed. It was unfortunate that her demeanor changed depending on how “important” the person was to her.
Food was decent+ but the service, ambience, value, and overall quality of the experience as decidedly subpar.
To be honest, yes, the place is a great experience, but the problem for us was US in general. 2 were drinking and being noisy, and the rest were trying their best to be polite. It’s best for me and a few to go on our own next time. Overall, I’ll give this 8/10.
I’ve been coming here for over 15 years and it is still going strong which is very hard to do in LA. The ambience is great and the service is amazing. They just added a vegan menu which is super exciting since Ive been fully plant based the last 2 months.
Great food and great service, but it even out-priced New York
I have been to Katana over the years many times. But I had not been in the recent three years. I remember the service being a bit faster. We waited about 30 mins although we had a reservation. Our waitress was very nice but would sometime disappear and forget to bring things like our water, or silverware for the dessert. The food was absolutely delicious and came out hot but took a longer time than I remember to come out. And this was on a relatively normal night on a Thursday. I have been on weekend days in the past when it was much more crowded yet I had received better service. So unfortunately I have to rate my experience in service low but the food and environment were superb.
Great service. Have been coming to katana since it opened. Still great. We had a great server who put together the whole menu for myself and 3 first timers. They loved it! Well done.
Dinner with a view! The restaurant itself is very trendy, good ambiance, the outdoor patio is beautiful. Every single food item tried on the menu was delicious.
DELICIOUS FOOD! My friends and I came here for my birthday and the service was exceptional and our waitress Cassie was so sweet, catering and I’m so picky with food - so when I asked her if they could make me shrimp tempura rolls - something not on the menu- she was so sweet and made it happen for me! The drinks were delicious... the FOOD - my god - you get what you pay for if not more because it was so yummy & fresh. 100% coming back.
One of the best meals I’ve ever had! We ordered many different dishes and loved them all. Fantastic customer service, as well. Our waitress was attentive and quick.
Great food and ambiance
I came for my birthday and our waiter Eric was so nice and helpful and patient with us it was amazing made our first experience with katana all the better!! Definitely will be back and asking for eric as well!! The drinks were amazing as well, definitely getting Katana cocktail it’s a must!
I was unhapppy about the menu changed and many sushi chef left there
Y AMANDA , una Reina 👑 cómo nos atendió.
Siempre quiero que ella nos atienda 🤗‼️
Great place! Love the food and ambiance!
A little over priced , food is very good , Drinks are excellent!
I go to Katana fairly regularly- the food and service are great, but the music outside last Saturday was too loud. I’m not sure the Dj was reading the crowd, but even 20 somethings were having trouble hearing and talking. I love this place, but not sure I’d return on a Saturday. I should reiterate, the food is fantastic. Anything you get is pretty amazing.
Went in for an early (6:30) Sat night dinner. As soon as we sat down, we were told that they needed the table in 2 hours.
They brought the food out all together and way too fast.
Food was just ok and definitely not worth the price.
They were obviously only interested in turning over the table.
Used to go there often and hadn’t been in awhile.
Won’t be returning back anytime soon.
Katana never disappoints! Outstanding food, great service and atmosphere!
Very loud bar atmosphere, service was good waiters very nice and accommodating.. Food is just ok sushi not great. We went because of great reviews however not an enjoyable experience.
