The Kingsway is a fine dining Asian restaurant by Chef Ashwin Vilkhu, a 2025 James Beard Award nominee for Best Chef: South, and the next chapter from the family behind the acclaimed Saffron NOLA.
Inspired by the deeply personal flavors of childhood dinners and the cultural crossroads of Asia, The Kingsway offers a contemporary interpretation of tradition—refined, intentional, and rooted in heritage.

The four course tasting menu is an immersion in the culture and flavors of the Vilkhu family. A signature bar menu features dishes such as tuna tartare, calamari, and our signature Nitro Espresso Martini.

Set in a Japandi-Scandinavian inspired space defined by clean lines, natural textures, and understated elegance, the dining room mirrors the philosophy of the kitchen: thoughtful, minimal, and quietly bold. Precision and warmth guide each guest experience, from the first pour to the last bite.

    One of the most beautiful and memorable dining experiences we’ve had in New Orleans. Every dish was exquisite, the presentation was stunning, and the service was flawless.     The hostess was a little frosty to us but our servers more than made up for it. What an amazing experience. Make sure you have one of their delicious cocktails to start, then pair it up!

    Our first time at Kingsway will not be our last. Simple, yet elegant interior supports food that is also elegant, rich and varied. Very nice combination of Louisiana influences with asian. Prix fixe menu is filling, but not over-filling. Wines by the glass show excellent range.

    This was our second time dining at Kingsway. If possible, it was even more outstanding than our first meal. The coconut curry shrimp was to die for! The dumplings, pork belly, and duck were fantastic, too. The cocktail menu is wonderful and creative. We chose to do the wine pairing with our meal and it was absolutely worth it and the wines were paired perfectly. James is an excellent sommelier and very fun and down to earth. He knows his wines but is not at all pretentious or intimidating. And the wait staff is warm, friendly, and thoroughly knowledgeable about the menu dishes. We were lucky to have Alec as our waiter again this time and he is fabulous and so fun. He is not afraid to recommend menu items and his recommendations are on point. The service even beyond Alec was excellent. Always available and keeping your water glass full without being intrusive or cloying. The absolute best thing I can say about our experience is that as we walked up the street to our car we were already planning our next meal at Kingsway.

    We absolutely loved our meal at Kingsway. From the martinis to wine, the diverse course selections, the coconut cloud dessert was insanely delicious. Service was amazing, the whole team was very friendly & knowledgeable. I will say the portions are shockingly large for a coursed menu, not a complaint. We will definitely be going back.

    The only item I didn’t like was the dessert Chocolate Cake… I ordered the crawfish dumpling, the lamb, the curry fish dish, and the chocolate cake.
