First time here. Food was excellent overall, including beautiful and elegant desserts! Service was good but it was apparent that our server was quite overextended. Not his fault, I assume it’s due to an employee shortage…like everywhere else these days. My only real complaint was the restrooms, which needed far more attention to cleanliness. Not ok for a restaurant of this caliber.

I was so excited to try this place, I was intrigued by seeing how beautiful the space was on Instagram. I made a reservation for my 2 year wedding anniversary for my husband and I. Our reservation was at 7:45, we arrived at around 7:48, had to wait almost 15 minutes to get seated, and then when we got to our table, it took at least 10 minutes for our server to come to us. When she did, we were comparing 2 wines, and she asked us for our 2nd choice if they 1st was not available. The 1st one was not, so she asked us if we wanted to go with the second one. We said yes, although it was $30 more expensive. It took almost 30 minutes for us to be brought our wine, only for it to be corked, and the wait staff looked annoyed that we weren't pleased by the wine. They then went to go bring us another one we picked out and then at around 8:45 we finally had our first sip of wine. We had ordered oysters and these came out before our wine did. I am rating overall 3 stars because the food was delicious; we had oysters, french onion soup, ratatouille, beef bourguignon, duck confit, creme brulee, and the le citron all on the pre fixe menu. The entrees felt small for the pre fixe though. The wine we ended up getting was delicious. My husband ordered a double espresso, and I ordered a single. Prior to dessert, our server asked us if we wanted to see a dessert menu because she forgot we did the pre fixe where dessert was already picked out. When it came time to pay, our server had put the expensive bottle that corked on our bill after she looked at it confirming that it was right. The espressos were $12 total, she charged the same for both even though one was a double. All in all, the food was delicious, but our overall experience was less than ideal especially for our 2 year wedding anniversary which was not acknowledged by the staff even though Open Table asks for occasions. I would have expected a bit more from this place.

First Service was outstanding. But the FOOD tasted awful. The spinach and garlic, sauté and believe it or not the french fries tasted like they were in a salt shower. My Salmon was good but, again salty. I was lucky to request they do not cook the salmon in the lemon butter as shown on the Menu. Since the beginning of this restaurant and first time under new ownership, it has been plagued by problems and bad Chefs. It’s such a beautiful restaurant, but they still do not have their act together. But as I said, in the beginning Hats off to the staff they are trying.

Awesome experience. Food was delicious. Tried escargot first time. Recommend it. The french onion soup was hearty & you can’t go wrong with the burger, very filling. Desserts were delish! Will definitely go back.

Beautiful space. Waitress Cici was delightfully friendly. A few missteps though… no garnish on the bloody mary, forgot to bring my coffee, left off the potatoes and toast from my meal, no condiments for the toast which was very dry… Otherwise the food and drink was excellent, dessert crullers were yummy and they wrote Happy Anniversary in chocolate on the plate (must have seen from Open Table…we hadn’t told them). Lovely location though very close to the Kimpton hotel.

Absolutely amazing place for brunch. We had the bacon quiche and bacon crepe! The entire dish was excellent. Even the French press coffee was delicious and not too strong. I will 100% be going back again!

Food was exquisite. Seated right away. Did have a reservation which is important since you never know how busy they will be. Relaxing evening, not rushed at all. Dessert is a must!

I've been to this place a handful of times now and I can easily say this is one of my favorite spots in Charlotte! The food is cooked to perfection and the servers are incredible. This past time our server Julian was super attentive and delightful making the experience perfect.

We visited LBH fir the first time to celebrate my hubby’s 30th birthday. It was overall a great experience! Our waiter Julian was very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is beautiful and food was delicious!

We enjoyed our anniversary dinner very much. We chose the prix fixe menu which was a delicious value. The gruyere cheese balls to start were really an amuse bouche as they say in France! The sea bass, tomato bisque, fois gras, and the duck confit were all pleasing. The creme brûlée and lemon dessert were both exceptional. Some of the best creme brûlée we have had. I highly recommend everything. And the service was excellent also.

Really enjoyed our anniversary dinner. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. My wife loved the French onion soup and her roasted chicken (mainly the risotto). My ribeye was excellent! We had brussel sprouts and the truffle fries which were good, but the least memorable part of the meal. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.

Maitre de rushed “Reservations? Follow me” the tiny mystery filled biscuits a poor substitute for some good crusty baguette. one price fix menu that we 4 awkwardly passed around, when requested more of this menu server “replied just take your time.” Someone walking by gave one more menu to share. arugula salad good and amply sized. The escargot en croute was good, the escargot w/o croute was tiny. deviled eggs with caviar was 4 halves, enabled me to offer my friend with the tiny escargot to augment her tiny portion. eggs were ok. Caviar speaks for itself. planked Salmon nice nothing to rave over, It came with a smattering of spinach. Two orders of the boeuf bourguignon were so small our guests were done eating before we were half way through. Portion size for an entree should have been mentioned. The chicken dry however the lovely drippings sauce made up for it. The chicken plate was oversized, including an entire half chicken, enough potatoes for 3 and I must have gotten my husbands portion of spinach! Usually the first to finish I lagged behind, even after everyone plates removed. The 2 creame brûlées fine, size adequate and good. The pumpkin bomb very artistic and good but small.the coconut sorbet was the best sorbet I have ever had, portion was huge given 3 large scoops. I was able to again offer my friend a scoop to make her a reasonably sized desert. Service adequate and save her cavalier refusal to bring more fix menus, she was reasonably attentive. Their avant-garde idea of the check presentation needs rethinking. The book seemed dirty and goofy for a fine dining restaurant. There were spots for a tip as well as a kitchen tip, which leads to tip the server less, pretentious. The restaurant is attractive, not too noisy and pleasant. Would I go back?? Nah. Overpriced. Our company made it a wonderful time out.

Reserved table outside for a wedding anniversary. Told that there weee no tables outside so we got sat next to the hostess stand crowded around people waiting for tables. Reservation for 6:45. 15 minute wait to get to the hostess and then didn’t get sat until 7:45. All in all, wish we had a better experience but may be next time.

It was a lovely restaurant and both the duck salad and croque monsieur was delicious. I was somewhat disappointed that there were not more entree lunch selections. It was mostly sandwiches and some salads. The service was excellent and I would recommend this restaurant.

My friend and I went for dinner before a Broadway show. We ordered the Pre Fixe menu. I had ratatouille for appetizer , trout almandine for entree and Le citron for dessert. She had French onion soup for appetizer, salmon for entree and chocolate mousse for dessert. Appetizer and Dessert were our favorite items. Entrees were good but nothing extra.

The design and atmosphere is truly impressive, a one of a kind in Charlotte. Along with classic French offerings, their seafood choices are also outstanding. Some interpretation of their French focused wine list was needed but we landed on a winner. A great experience. And don't miss desert!

We really loved the experience of La Belle Helene but it seemed like someone switched out the sugar for salt for a LOT of our food. The ratatouille, puff pastry with butter, the sauce with my crispy duck and one of our deserts were salted heavily. I didn't mind the food being salted heavily so much but when I had my fruity and chocolatey desert, I was not expecting so much course salt. It was still delightful overall.

Love coming here. This place is classy but never stuffy or out to make you feel uncomfortable. Julian, our server, was great and accommodated us very well as we had our two young children with us. My wife and I came for our anniversary for brunch and were comped cruellers (which were fantastic by the way) as a celebratory gift. It’s the little touches and thought that make an experience meaningful here, and La Belle Helene never disappoints.
