La Torta was delicious but a bit on the Spicy side just a heads up lol, food in general is awesome though.
Service was horrible but the food & drinks made up for it.
The torta was really good! The enchiladas were ok, nothing special. Kind of disappointed in their cocktails. Also, they were out of ceviche.
Great spot to dine in and enjoy good company
Food was mediocre. Service was very slow. Drinks weren't good at all. Waited a long time to be acknowledged. Food took forever and our order was wrong.
This is a fun place to go on a weekend evening. The food and drinks are delicious and the ambiance is lively. You could throw a dart at the menu and enjoy what you get! The service was a little slow and a few times I had to flag down our server. They have been slammed each time I come in, so slower service makes sense. I love bringing my friends here and can’t wait to come back! Definitely worth the wait. DO NOT sleep on the tacos de pescado!
I left a 3 star review on each category because I unfortunately was unable to dine at La Luna. I surprised my boyfriend with a “Pilsen taco crawl” and had La Luna as our final destination as I’ve heard only amazing things about the restaurant (you save the best for last right?). I was disappointed when I received a voicemail only a few hours before our 5pm reservation saying that the restaurant had plumbing issues and wouldn’t be able to stay open for our reservation. I totally understand that things come up that are out of our control, but was so disappointed that we weren’t able to experience La Luna as many of my friends have told me they have the best taco in the city. This would have been the perfect last stop to our special day! Hopefully we’ll get to check you guys out soon so I can leave a review on our experience!
Food was great. Service was great. Authentically Mexican.
Fun atmosphere, solid & strong margs and delicious tacos.
Love this place. Went on Tuesday and enjoyed the tacos, elote and a great mezcal drink.
What a awesome place this was, we will definitely be back for some great food and drinks
3rd time here. the food has been good, but the drinks are outstanding. Taco alert fail... crumbling tortillas! very disappointing!
I have had some great experiences in Pilsen so I just knew La Luna would continue the trend, but unfortunately, we were not impressed at all.
We received great service from Lysette, but the food was bland and just not impressive. The guacamole was good as were the pescado tacos, however, the clasica tostada with chicken was very bland and lacked any seasoning, and finally the flautas were too fried and ended up being dry.
I am very confused on the 4/5 star reviews, but they're cumulative is only 3 1/2 stars, so I guess I am not the only one not impressed.
Food was good, but I asked for something not spicy, and the server recommended the broccoli tacos without the spicy onions. It was still way too spicy! Everyone else liked their food, but didn't think it was spectacular. Drinks were super expensive!
Our server was soooo nice! The food was great! Never been on a Taco Tuesday. Definitely going back for the elote, el queso fundido and margaritas!
Good food, great service, too noisy. We'll go back.
I made this reservation weeks ago only to arrive at the restaurant which was closed for a private event. No one ever reached out prior to let me know this or confirm my reservation.
I made reservation for Sunday night through open table. No mention of very limited Sunday menu was made. It was apparently disclosed on their website - but we learned of it when we arrived.
The service and food was great, will definitely come back to try other dishes in the menu!
Impressed with the great tastes, warm vibe, and how the server took care of us quickly so we could make it to a show across the street.
The appetizers were good, underwhelmed by the tacos and overall just not impressed with everything. They don't have a ton of options for tacos and 2 of them were out the evening we visited.
Service was pretty slow as well. When initially taking our drink orders she asked about 2 people if they wanted drinks out of 8 and then turned to leave without asking everyone, we had to flag her back. Then during our entire dinner I had one drink because the server never came around asking if I wanted another. No one at our table had a second round of drink during about a 1.5 hour meal.
All in all, I probably wouldn't visit again. There are so many places to try in Chicago with better food and service.
Cute decor though!
We visited La Luna before a show at Thalia Hall. The food and drinks were great. Lovely place!
This was a nice place to grab a bite and drinks before the show at Thalia Hall.
We made a lunch reservation for 5 people using the app and when we arrived the restaurant was closed. We wasted time and money on a 15 min. Uber ride from River North.
We made a reservation for a party of 8 at 5 right when the restaurant was supposed to open. At 5:00 a waiter came outside and said they were not opening until 6 or 6:30 even though I told him I had a 5 pm reservation. He went inside and never came out again and didn’t open. Don’t know why he gave me the dining points since we didn’t dine there. Would never return, bad business, no customer service,
Colorful, flavorful food, professional and fun servers, would definitely go back! Great for vegetarians(maybe not vegans) - the veggie taco was fantastic especially. We were all really happy with our meals and drinks!
La Luna: delicious, fun, great service, beautiful space, vibrant 'hood!
Not a big menu but what we had was good. Nice offering of drinks as well. Perfect before a show at Thaila Hall
It’s was our father’s birthday dinner. We let them know and we expected a dessert maybe a candle not looking for free but just the typical. He got his “birthday dessert” mid dinner. We thought it was a little off but he carried on. Later we see them serve a nice dessert with a candle and clapping? Fun times. I had to explain to our parents those guests brought their own candle. It’s the details that count and we were kinda disappointed.
The whole experience was great. The only negative was the paella. It was okay but overcooked. The tacos were amazing, as were the staff and drinks. We'll definitely go back.
Service was great. I wish I remembered our servers name but she was amazing. Food is basic nothing to write home about it is very much a one and done type of restaurant.
Went to brunch last Sunday. Could not be more pleased. Sat at the bar and got awesome service. Samantha, the hefe, made a special point of saying hello and making me feel welcome. Susanne was all over the place taking great care of her guests.
The waitress was very nice as always. We really liked the tacos and drinks. Thanks for a good night.
The food was a lot better this time, drinks were great as always, but there is still room for improvement in regards to service. They are a little forgetful.
Randomly stopped by on Tuesday. Boy am I glad I did. What a cool venue. It was happy hour and I took advantage of Taco Tuesday. Best pork tacos on the planet. Miguel provided expert service. Sam, Samantha, the owner is the picture of grace, charm, and hospitality.
La Luna has gotten progressively worse since they opened. They started off with an AMAZING menu and continue to slash things that were delicious and add odd choices. They got rid of all their best tacos except one and keep changing their appetizers. Their brunch was amazing but the quality and flavors went way down most recently. GO BACK TO WHAT YOU DID WHEN YOU OPENED!!!! We raved about them and went constantly whenU they first opened and now not sure if we will go back.

Great Vibe, simple menu, good food, margaritas with a heavy dose of tequila... yum!
My lactose intolerance kept me from giving more stars.
