   Le Bistrot is a superb restaurant. We go regularly and the food is always Excellant ,good value and the staff are very friendly and always helpful If you haven’t been to this restaurant I would definitely recommend it. It is ideally located on the corner of George 4th bridge and the Royal Mile.

   We had the Dinner menu and both the pork chops that I had and the lambshank that my husband had were beautifully cooked and well presented. The portions were generous but we managed an excellent cake and coffee

   First visit to Le Bistrot and it won't be the last. We had an excellent 3-course lunch. Charcuterie and calamari to start, both had sea bream fillet with cauliflower puree and new potatoes for mains, with cheese and tarte au citron to finish. We drank the cheapest white wine - a Pinot Grigio, which was very good. Staff were friendly and good fun. Definitely worth a visit.

   Great place for a meal. The only issue - and no fault of the restaurant - was the noise from a party of 6 at a table in the side room. A real party going on! But they finished while we were still dining and by the end of our meal we had put this to the back of our minds. This experience would not stop us booking again - but might check that we could have a table in the main restaurant ! (That said, on arrival we were offered a table in either area and we choose the side room! Our fault!)

   An excellent lunch with no rush or pressure. Despite a limited menu our choices were well prepared and nicely presented. Throughly recommend the 3 course menu.

    Excellent food, this is due to limited menu, which allows kitchen to master all the dishes to perfection. Very good service. Nice staff. Overall really, really good. Must keep these prices to continue enticing customers

    All round great experience. Good food with friendly & helpful staff- they even went the extra mile to have the chef cook a side for us which wasn’t on the menu! That’s exceptional service I’d say. Will certainly return.

    The set price lunch menu offered a good range of options for each course and was excellent value for money. The portions were just right, attractively presented, served piping hot and tasted delicious. The service was very good with the waiter exchanging pleasantries and offering advice re our choice of wine. It was a very enjoyable experience and we will certainly be back as well as recommending it to friends.

    This is an elegant room in a very elegant and imposing building in central Edinburgh. The restaurant is not obvious from the outside, and presumably only frequented by those who are "in the know" about its existence. The decor is entertaining, and the ambience pleasant, although the open door to the lobby makes the room draughty at times. The menu is interesting and the food quality good. It would be helpful to be able to order just one course (and coffee), but the menu offers only 2-course and 3-course options. This was particularly disappointing when only 2 of the four or so pudding choices were available. The staff are sternly French: there is no doubting who has the upper hand in this meeting place of customers and staff - at least in the opinion of the staff! It's all part of the experience, however, and I am pleased that I've discovered such an engaging and convenient place to eat in peace and quiet, in the midst of the bustle of Edinburgh.

    Two of the party had the lamb shank dish which they thought was delicious. I had the chicken dish and again was pleased with the quality. One had fillet steak and was disappointed as she found grisly bits in the steak.

    Very nice meal but disappointed that a starter was not available (quiche) and also a main not available (coq-a-vin). Two people in our booking would have had quiche as a starter and one person would have had coq-a-vin as a main.

    Really nice ambience, lovely interior. Lunch menu had enough choice for our party of 3 to choose something we liked and the food was really tasty. We used Itison vouchers to get more for our money. Wasn’t so busy at 12:30 on a Friday but by 1pm was practically full. Pleasant staff.

    Lovely place , good service however the food was really a let down almonds seem to be the garnish for every dish whether it be Pork or prawns ? I ordered mussels and fries , both cold fries also underdone soft soggy . How you can get fries wrong I dont know ? My husbands pork was bland and he said the purple potatoes purée was inedible . Not cheap and really poor food wouldn’t return

    After visiting the old town with my parents Le bistro is a must go place to eat after a long walk! We went there for dinner , the portions were very filling. The server was efficient & knowledgeable of the menu, great recommendations Definitely will be back!

    Nice french restaurant, we can feel the Paris vibes, service nice but the good wasn't very good, disoipointed about charcuterie board and thé coq au vin was dry, the dessert might be Frozen, no taste. Price valur was correct

    Booked a table for four and had lunch from the 2 or 3 course set menu. Choices were varied and no-one in the party struggled to choose. Water was served as soon as we arrived and drinks orders take whilst we perused the menu. The staff were very good - friendly and attentive without being over-fussy. The starters were a reasonable size and the main course was very tasty. At no point were we rushed to leave our table and the bill was brought promptly when requested. I would certainly return again.

    Lovely Lunch on Rugby Weekend with my Dad before the match. Super service, relaxed, and great value food. I had the Calamari and the Moules , my Dad the Sea Bream. A nice White wine and coffee. What more could you ask. Will definitely recommend and come back.

    Lovely food & wine, excellent service and it's surprising how quiet and relaxing is given that the venue is in the city centre. The food is comforting and staff is highly knowledgeable to suggest the best acompaning wines to your meal. Would visit again and I'd recommend it to others
