   Wow just wow, we even met the man himself who took time out of supervising in the kitchen to come into the dining room. Food, atmosphere, experience. Bucket list DONE. Had a quick behind the door tour of the kitchen to see the folks at work. What a team.

   A truly wonderful experience. The meal was a special treat for my husband. We had the tasting menu so that we could try across the range of dishes. All the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was friendly without being stuffy or over familiar. A very lovely evening which has created very happy memories. Thank you to all the team!

    Went for dinner, everything was perfect. Food tasted amazing, there were too many wine/cocktail options and we had a lovely time drinking the one that we picked. There was a lot of detail to food, drinks and everything else that you can think of. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice place for dinner if you are celebrating something special. Side note (they give you an iPad so that you can take your time to pick your choice of drink, and they don't rush you at all) Highly recommended!!!!!!!!! My wife had an amazing time.

    Very warm welcome on entering right through to the knowledgeable waiting staff, we felt very comfortable in an elegant cosy setting. Would recommend the 7 course exceptional tasting menu outstanding. Wines were reasonably priced for a Michelin star restaurant. Added bonus Michel Roux spent time talking to dinners.

    An unforgettable experience. Come for the food, which is bordering on a religious experience, but stay for the extraordinarily attentive, knowledgeable and friendly service that really does make you feel like you are a priority and valued for being there. The Ox cheek and variety of sweet and savoury soufflés were a high point. 5 normal stars, should have 3 Michelin stars.

    This is a hard review to write as Michel Roux Jr. Is my hero chef, and I have used many of his recipes. My wife and I had waited years to dine at Le Gavroche, and were delighted when we got a booking to coincide with my wife's birthday. We arrived and were welcomed with friendly smiley people. My wife had a Martini (good) and I asked for Champagne. Unfortunately when served it was flat, but was remedied immediately (and we weren't charged for it) so I normally would not mention it. We had some fabulous 'amuse bouches' and looked forward to the meal. On being taken to the restaurant (which is lovely) we were placed in a good table and met by a very friendly wine waiter. Not so our waitress though. She seemed very dour and a complete contrast to the happy waiters and waitresses around the other table. I tried a few words to get her to smile but it was a bit of a lost cause. The starters arrived (plonked in front of us) - we both had the cheese soufflé and it was superb! The main courses were Ox Cheek for me (again superb) and Turbot for my wife. This was pretty awful. The fish was OK, but there was a HUGE serving of hollandaise sauce and a small serving of broccoli. And the meal, whilst not cold, was very cool. Being Brits we were a bit stoic, and only mentioned it when we were asked how was the meal. By now our surly server had taken a back seat and we were served by a lovely lady (one of two twins serving). We got an apology but that was it. The desserts and the petits fours that followed were superb. I had asked for a 'birthday plate' and our original waitress brought it and just slapped it on the table. Yet at the next table another plate was delivered and a birthday song and hand clapping followed! Was it us? So - I will recommend this lovely place and trust that we were just unlucky. We would go again because it is a lovely place. The poor fish was strange. The service (for us) was not good. But everyone else seemed to have a great time!

    We enjoyed a very nice welcome, a lovely relaxed dining experience, and the staff were warm, friendly as well as very helpful. The Soufflé Suissesse was outstanding! We also enjoyed an excellent côte de boeuf as well as coffee and petits fours, which were delicious! We will return!

    Amuse buche was on the house. Mushroom aracini has a creamy and flavorful filling, but the outer layer wasn't cunchy. Seabass roll had a tender yet springy diced seabass filling, delicious! The last was the mackerel tart, which it was underwhelming compared to the first two A complimentary sourdough bread with salted butter were underwhelmed. The sourdough wasn't aromatic and fluffy enough. The salted butter was too cold to spread, which cause an uneven spreading on the bread The first appetizer was smoked eel with asparagus (chef recommendation of the day). Smoked eel was lightly smokĥed, buttery and full of flavor and extremely moist, taste like a fatty red snapper. Vegetables were cooked perfectly but the green emulsion lacked flavors. The smoked eel was good in itself, but personally I don't feel the dish as a whole works together. 2nd appetizer was their signature cheese souffle. Meringue was light and fluffy, with gyusere topped. Looks rich but it wasn't heavy. A must try! Main course is the lamb cutlet with sweetnread and salsify. Perfectly cooked lamb cutlet (just thr right amount of fats, tender and not too gamey), served with creamy and flavorful salsify puree, and flavorful lamb jus. Perfect executed dish For dessert, souffle was light and fluffy, white chocolate ice cream was creamy. However, I do not enjoyed mixing the ice cream and souffle together as the texture isn't well contrast, and the crunchy passion fruit seed destroy the fluffiness texture of the souffle. Service was attentive but wasn't friendly enough the waiter and waitresses should smile more! Overall, if you dine there without thinking it was a 2 Michelin star restaurant, the food was 95% cooked to perfection, but I personally felt that it doesn't have a the magic touch of a 2 Michelin star standard.

    Very good but not outstanding, which was my expectation. Ambiance: Too quiet - we felt if we didn’t whisper, we might get in trouble. Appreciated screens between tables! Service: VERY attentive but to the point where we felt like we were constantly being watched in an uncomfortable manner. I’d compare this with Le Cinq where the service was equally attentive but more jovial and warm so you felt like they were to help, not inspect you. Food: Amuse Bouches: Mushroom arancini and kohlrabi tart were excellent, anchovy bread just okay Bread: Surprisingly average. I was also disappointed by the butter which was cold and unseasoned. Starters: We had cheese soufflé and scallops. Both were excellent. My main objective in coming to Le Gavroche was to eat two perfect soufflés (the starter and the dessert) and this was 100% accomplished. I would absolutely return for these two items. Mains: We both had the salmon, this was cooked correctly (and I’m annoyingly picky about fish), but didn’t have a lot of flavor on its own. The purée was really nice, but there wasn’t enough of it. Kohlrabi salad was refreshing, but difficult to eat with the long ribbons. Overall I felt the ratios of this dish were off - too much caviar, not enough purée, etc. Potatoes again didn’t have much flavor on their own so required purée. Desserts: We had the apple dish and the Passion fruit soufflé. Apple was very good. Again - 10/10 on the soufflé. Drinks: We don’t drink alcohol. One of the waiters suggested a mocktail which I agreed to try, though I’ve never been impressed by one. Well done, this is literally the first mocktail I’ve ever thought was worth drinking. I ordered a second. General: Kitchen and waitstaff were excellent in dealing with us being pescatarian and my friend not wanting raw alcohol on food. I would come back when the menu changes, though I’d hope to see soufflés still on it. Thank you!

    Both wanted to have the taster menu but I don’t eat cheese and two courses had cheese. We had the al crate in the end and that was amazing very delicious and we felt that we had plenty to eat. If I had like cheese the cheese selection looked fabulous

    I don't normally participate in leaving reviews. This was the 2nd occasion that I have been to Le Gavroche. I was impressed the first time. On this occasion I can conclude that it is without any doubt the best restaurant that I have dined in. The duration of the meal was an experience in itself. The Food was outstanding and the staff are of an understated class all of their own.

    Incredible experience! We defiantly recommend for people to try! The food was amazing and touched every corner of the palette we tried the tasting menu so got a good taste of everything our favourite was the ox cheek. The wine expert and all the staff take such a good care of you and listen to all details! They go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. Michel Roux was there working in the kitchen and came and met and greeted all of his guest that was really cool! He signed the tasting menu for my bf as it was his bday! 10/10 from us x

    We were a 4-some of OAPs out to enjoy ourselves. And by golly we did! I was keen to chose some wines before we arrived - no wine list on the website. But a telephone call swiftly got me through to the Head Sommelier Rémi Cousin who was immensely helpful. On arrival we had a lovely warm welcome & were shown straight to our table. The number of staff was impressive, but the real joy was the infectious friendliness and enjoyment coming from them all. This must be a wonderful place to work. We enjoyed the soufflé Suissesse and some light cod width caviar, we then moved on to delectable pink lamb chops with sweetbreads and some Hereford beef. No cheese, we had no room, but some small helpings of delicious vanilla ice cream and cups of espresso gave a perfect finish for us all. What a pity lunches are still unavailable…..I live in hope.

    It was our anniversary and so a special occasion and we didn't get the experience we expected. We chose the menus exceptional (ie the tasting menus) and it was far from exceptional, our feeling was it was run of the mill with courses being mass produced and rushed out one after the other with no thought that we were their to enjoy the ambience and the experience. Sorry not a good experince
