Lolita Back Bay
Lolita is a bustling neighborhood cantina serving playfully authentic interpretations of traditional Mexican cuisine. The dramatic space is dark and rustic, loud with laughter and intimately lit by Murano glass chandeliers, custom stained glass and flickering candles. Bold colors, luxurious leather, graffiti art and a ceiling adorned with skulls are set against an elegant venetian backdrop. House-made flour tortillas wrap flavorful tacos and hand-crafted margaritas grace an elegant, Mexican-crafted bar. The vibrant and youthful ambiance is sexy, seductive and tailored for a night of rebellion and all out revelry.
Hard to have a conversation over the mhsic
The food is fantastic. Sort of like Tapas, small plates so you buy a bunch and share which makes for a great experience. Add Tequila and how can you lose?
LOVE LOLITAS. Never a bad meal or marg. They make the absolute best margaritas in all of Boston, especially the spicy cucumber!
Amazing ! Food, chips, shave ice, service-i love this restaurant 💜
What an experience!! Highly recommend this place, full of energy and the staff is amazing. Food is excellent and the cotton candy was a wonderful surprise.
The food was unbelievable. The cocktails are good. One should try the corn, the ceviche, the Mahi Mahi Taco and the tres-leche cake. The Quesedilla's are on the heavier side and not something you should get when you are looking for small plates. This restaurant is bang for the buck and definitely a "Must Visit" restaurant. Keep Up the Good Work Lolita!!
Our server was wonderful. The food was delicious. Great experience. Thank you.
Food was top notch as always, and service was very quick! Drinks were excellent as well.
Had a very good time. Food was excellent. They accommodated my request for comfortable seating for my disability, which made my dinner much more comfortable.
Really poor service
Delicious food, great margaritas. A bit dark but nice atmosphere. Good service and awesome location
Great date space.
Our experience was fantastic! Great food and service for my birthday dinner. I started with the Diablo Margarita - delicious and spicy. We shared 5 plates tapas style: street corn, cauliflower fritters, patatas bravas, carnitas tacos, and the chicken habanero tacos. We were super impressed with the street corn and chicken tacos - a lot of flavor! We also appreciated the free palette refresher, chips & salsas, and cotton candy! It was a great birthday :) highly recommend Lolita Back Bay!
Went to Lolita for my sister’s bachelorette dinner, which I provide that information when making reservations on open table. We arrive and were seated quickly. Took a little bit for a waitress to come over and introduce herself and see if we wanted drinks or had any questions. Finally someone came over she did explain it is tapas/small plate style and how meals are prepared. We put in drink and apps. My sister did not like her drink and asked for something else instead and when we got the bill we were charged for the drink with 2 sips missing. Some food came out really fast some we waited for a long time. Service wasn’t consistent I didn’t feel like our waitress paid much attention to us to see if we needed anything else or more drinks etc. Also there was no mention that we were there for a special occasion which was disappointing. When leaving there were two I assume hostesses and neither said thank you or have a good night anything.
I do think I would return cuz the food and drinks were really good but I would have extremely low expectations on the service. Also it was a hot 80 degrees August night and it didn’t feel like there was air conditioning or any type of air flow for that matter we were pretty uncomfortable with the temp all dinner
Best food evahhhhh
Love Lolita. The one things I have noticed is the prices going up and the portions staying the same.
Service is unmatched, very good food. Just a little loud during peak times but overall it was a great time. Love the cotton candy at the end!
Great food, friendly and fun waitstaff, sultry atmosphere, etc., all make for a great date spot.
Love it here!
Settles very well
Waiter was 5 star excellent
I’m not crazy about dark lighting especially in this day & age
I order fried zucchini and it was cheese on top, in everything it was cheese on top even if in the manu wasn’t
mentioned! I don’t like cheese! I didn’t eat!
We had a wonderful experience at Lolita’s Back Bay- very cool spot for a deliciously tasty meal! Can’t wait to go back!
We were celebrating our anniversary. I was perfect. Our food and drinks were wonderful.
Back Bay staple. Food is on point and drinks are perfect.
I had indicated on my reservation that this was for our anniversary, but we were sandwiched tightly between two other tables. No acknowledgement to the special occasion and it was so loud and crowded my husband and I could barely talk to each other.
Lolita was great - food was very good. Drinks were great, however be prepared as ours were 99% ice and very small amount of actual drink (ice was literally stacked above the lip of the glass). Had a Bourbon smash that was excellent...just wish there had been a few more sips of it. May have ordered another, but did not feel it was worth another $12. Food was VERY good - every selection we tried was unique, well prepared and presented... Atmosphere was nice as well, although the bar was pretty dark (had to pull out phone to light up the menu). Service was good, but not great - as they got busy, our server got slammed with 2-3 tables, and we sat with empty plates for quite awhile wanting to order more (it's like tapas - we ordered many small plates).
Overall - I would recommend and would go again as the food was that good!
Delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend the spicy cucumber margarita. The guacamole is amazing and the steak and chicken tacos are very flavorful.
We finished our meal in 30 minutes ..6 orders plus drinks. It was crazy how the food was rushed
The place was hot inside
Absolutely the best food!! Order a few dishes to share. Order 1-2 items for 1 person. Service was pretty good.
Start to finish, dinner at Lolita was amazing! Our server Matt is what really made the difference. He was friendly and attentive and helpful with suggestions on food and drink. The guacamole fresco was perfection along with the fresh tortilla chips. Matt suggested the cauliflower fritters and he was right, they were delicious. We also ordered the habanero chicken quesadillas (yum) and Matt came through with another great suggestion of a new menu item-spicy broccoli tacos which were so tasty. We ended up taking home half is the quesadillas. Matt is really a superstar and hope to get one of his tables again the next time we go to Lolita!!!
Really good food, I’d highly recommend dining here. It is a rather dark ambiance—which is the mood they’re going for. The interior design is super cool and tacos/quesadillas are good! It’s perfect for date night, special occasion, or every day dining
Food and service was very good but lighting was on the dark side. Difficult to read menu and to dark for good ambiance
I love the food and the general vibe of the place it's just the staff that leaves something to be desired. Right off the mark, the host was apathetic and stuck up (which I've grown to expect from this restaurant). The waitress was mostly fine but again seemed to have a generally flat affect. Overall, I would recommend the food to anyone but, they really need to step up their customer service.
Over priced, sangria tastes like a melted popsicle (not in a good way), food was mediocre and the AC unit was dripping behind out table and there was a thick coat of dust on the chair rail.
Get the lobster guacamole, you won’t be disappointed!
Second time was the charm. My last visit was met with poor service and cold food. Big change this time with amazing food and proper service.
Awesome, great food, drinks, and service!
Amazing place and great food.
