Wellington Lounge at InterContinental London Park Lane
Many restaurants seem to overcook fish, even those specialising in it. Here the roast cod was perfect, well presented without fussy display.; no tiny dabs of unidentifiable sauce. Excellent crème brulee. Amiable service. Not cheap but worth it.
Good food although not a huge choice on the summer offer we booked so ended up going ALC. It’s a bit noisy and there’s not much privacy at the tables. Great service and overall a good experience. Wasn’t blown away but nice enough!
Both waiters that assisted us were very new and not always sure with regards to the items on the menu. However, the food was really nice & the Summer menu was good value for money.
The cocktails were great!
Lovely food in very nice surroundings served by excellent staff - a very enjoyable experience!
The main problem with London House is the Menu, it is out of date and is rarely changed. There is an afluent neighbourhood at your reach and you should take care of it. The staff are always polite and good at their jobs. We are regular customers and would really enjoy an update.
We very much enjoyed a farewell lunch with our colleagues - the service was excellent, the food was instagramable and the space reserved for the 7 of us was perfect.
Great! Summer dinner was perfect
In a virtually empty restaurant the food (breakfast) arrived luke warm , having evidently been sitting on the pass for some time. Presentation - no green garnish on the plate or anything to lift it above a breakfast in a ‘caff’ despite a premium price. The room is nice and the staff were friendly but not very organised or on the ball.
What a disappointment this restaurant was! We went there because it’s a Gordon Ramsey restaurant and expected to have some good, if not amazing food. We ordered some sourdough bread and butter but what came were plain white bread rolls! There was no explanation from our server as to what happened to the sourdough. One of my two companions ordered the ribeye. It was well cooked but was thin and quite small. It came with nothing else except some watercress. It was pricey at £39. She ordered a side of triple cooked chips which was crispy but had no salt on them! I ordered the roasted cod (£24), which did come with no more than 3 cut up new potatoes and tiny bits of artichoke. Fish was well cooked but no better than what can be done at home. My other companion is lactose intolerant and also ordered the cod. The dish was made suitable for her by simply excluding any sauce! The watercress garnish also mysteriously disappeared! I ordered a side of tomato and shallots salad which came as tomato with spring onions. Again no explanation for the change. The salad is simply cut up tomatoes with chopped spring onions and is devoid of any seasoning or dressing. We ordered tea at the end of the meal. We waited a long time and could see the tea sitting on the bar for the last 20 minutes. I chased a passing waiter who wasn’t our server for the tea. To his credit, he saw the tea being left on the bar and asked for fresh ones for us. We could hear the other staff saying it was hot enough! When he got her to make fresh ones, she told us she has made it with boiling water and it can’t be any hotter! Is it too much to expect fresh tea that has not been stewing for 20 minutes? The price is at a premium but sadly the food is at best ordinary. The only plus point is that they are dog friendly. I certainly won’t be going back again!
The service was chaotic - the waitress advised it was 50% of a separate wine list when we sat down and then they charged full price, the bar person came out from behind the bar and said we weren't told that even though she wasn't present at the time and then when the waitress admitted she got it wrong we had no apology, the same waitress poured a different wine into an existing wine, she thought it was the same bottle and denied it was different until we made her show us the two bottles and she had to admit she got it wrong, at one point we had the manageress, waitress and bar person all accusing us of being incorrect only to realise that infact we were right. Really unusual to experience this in a Ramsey restaurant. Food was generally good, my lamb chops were lovely but the sticky toffee puddings were cold and my friend wasnt too impressed that the smoked salmon didn't have a single green leaf or bread, she asked if she could have a garnish and they asked the chef and he said no! It would have cost a few pence to put a small garnish on a £10 starter but again that was poor customer service. The Manageress seemed embarrassed with the service and took the cost of the wine off the bill which is not what we were seeking, we just wanted to enjoy good food and service.
Apart from the Boxtree, I have loved eating in his New York restaurant when it was open, and Hospital Rd is probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten in. I think he may need to sort the Battersea restaurant before it's too late.
Food was very disappointing. 2 burgers medium came very rare and had to be sent back. My rib eye was cooked correctly, but unlike any rib eye I've ever seen. Drinks were GREAT, as were the apps (soup, scotch egg). They atoned for the burger by comping dessert.
On arrival, we were told that they had been busy so they had run out of Chicken Kiev and Roast Chicken. We ordered Pork Belly and Ribeye Steak for the main course, but were then told that the Ribeye and the Roast Beef were no longer available. This was made worse as the waitress did not seem to understand what we were saying, We had Crispy Duck salad, which although was spicy, with lots of chilli, was certainly not crispy, and the Ham Hock terrine, which was pleasant. The mains were fairly ordinary.
A waiter then came and told us that the kitchen was closing, and desserts were probably not available. After my friend complained that we had not been warned that there was a timing issue, we actually had dessert, Chocolate Brownie and Sticky Toffee Pudding, which were very good, and were deducted from the bill after our complaint.
Having been to the restaurant before, and had much better food and service, it was very disappointing.
The moral of the story- don’t go on a Sunday evening!
great venue for a catch up on a Saturday afternoon. food and drink great
Food was surprisingly poor, had a Caesar salad for starter and was no better than a disappointing salad from pret. A bowl of bland leaves with too much dressing. For main I had pesto pasta, also pretty bland. ☹️
My birthday dinner, I had the pork tbone but was chewy not enough veggies on offer had a nice evening anyway I should have ordered potatoes not chips that’s my fault, but il be back .
Absolutely brilliant evening, the food was amazing and the service was brilliant. Highly recommend.
London House never fails to please. Absolutely stunning dinner with friends from the US who brought their children along. The restaurant catered perfectly for the children with both a special menu and a gift bag to keep them entertained
Have the Wellington. Fantastic.
Very enjoyable Sunday lunch, with kids.
The restaurant has run out of food but it wasnt because they were busy on that day by but because the orders to suppliers were not placed on time.
Have been a few times and was disappointed on this occasion. Two of the mains specials were luke warm - sent back and then 15 mins later waiting were not much hotter. These were taken off the bill and staff were apologetic. Still would go back but need to up their game.
Food was excellent m, but very poor service and at times rude too. A shame as it could be s great place. Not all mains were served together and our gluten free friend left begging for something to eat. Really rude Italian waiter did not make good of the situation
Not the sort of cheeseboard you would expect at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.
Nothing was particularly bad but nothing particularly good either
The main thing was the quietness, the restaurant looked empty and had put everyone in the same corner to dine so I felt like it had little energy.
The decor was not bad but needed a bit of an update ! Very outdated- looks like it could do with a makeover
The staff where nice
The food menu it self is very basic nothing to complain about but for a Ramsey place I thought it would be a little more creative.
The food we had I cannot complain it did what it said
On the tin.
The presentation was again not modern outdated and boring, looks like the chef lacks some creativity .
Overall I’d say not bad !
But really needs a makeover and a new menu
Probably will not visit again
Booked the set menu as offer which was then not available. Neither was the 50% off the bill offer, whcih normally applies on an Monday. So missed out on both. Not pleased. Food average at best.
Lovely evening with bestie. Our waiter, Igor was so professional and friendly. London House if you read these reviews please promote this guy as he truly he is management material with great people skills! Despite juggling a few tables he was attentive. Food was average - nothing special but wouldnt deter me from eating there again. I might be surprised lol!!
Had a very nice birthday dinner here with my girlfriend on the Satruday just gone. Started off with a scrumptious cocktail in the lounge area whilst they readied our table (a cosy corner booth) and then we got to indulge in the special carpaccio starter, T-bone steak with rocket salad, jersey royal potatos and a garlic herb butter sauce for her and lamb cutlets with roasted veg and pan jus (I think!) gravy for me followed up by sticky toffee pudding and lemongrass cheesecake for dessert. All superbly cooked, very flavoursome and textured beautifully though I did find the lemongrass a little bit too bitter for my tastes as a dessert.
And our server brought out a birthday brownie for my girlfriend complete with candle and singing! I can't remember if I made a special request with the booking but it was a very nice touch nontheless. Hats off to Davide for that amongst his other excellent service throughout the evening.
Do make sure you bring some cash with you as the servers work hard to make for a delightful visit and they won't get any of the service charge. I forgot to bring cash with me and I still feel guilty about not being able to reward Davide for his commendable work during our visit other than paying compliments.
Our local and we just love it here, Max is an amazing manager and our sausage Dog loves it almost as much as us... perfect for all occasions...!
The Sunday roast wasn’t the same as always. It was very bland and we left still hungry. What happened to the Yorkshire pudding? They use to be amazing.
Sadly, we didn’t have a very good experience here. My friend has been before and had a nice meal. Our waiter, at the beginning, wasn’t really listening to us and we felt he was just going through the motions - he asked us if we wanted bread, we said no, he still brought it (and put it on the bill), I politely mentioned that the cod I had was bland and he just didn’t really react. It was a Saturday night and it was quite quiet - I am not really surprised. My friend’s pasta was good - tasty (although not a lot of it), but my £27 cod was soooo bland and not filling - I had to buy a side order of fries. A shame. At the end the bread and our cocktails (which were 2-4-1) were all charged, so we challenged this and they were taken off the bill by the very apologetic head waiter. At this point, I didn’t mention the disappointing fish - maybe I should have done because I don’t think our initial waiter would have told him. Oh well - won’t be rushing back.
Great place for a nice dinner out with our adult children. The food was delicious, despite being just a little bit spendy. Service was a mixed bag as the main server was attentive to our questions and needs, but the cocktail server splashed a generous bit (maybe 20%?) of the $22 martini on the table, flatware, napkin and my daughter's sleeve without offering to even mop it up (let alone make another) Each course was beautifully presented. The dishes were tasty and unconventional. It's built out in a vintage building and well-integrated in a sweet neighborhood. Space was comfortably casual, putting all at ease, but not quite as posh as the prices would assume. I am sure it is a gem amongst the locals. There looks to be a lovely outdoor area to enjoying the warmer weather... we will definitely be back!
Excellent food could not fault anything, service was on the spot. wine collection can be improved.
The right variety of fine meat cuts with both basic and more elaborated appetisers and wines, served with all the charme and cordiality inspired by an Italian managing team, in a warm and soft atmosphere resembling your own place in your best dreams! Good for events with family and friends, but also for more intimate occasions thanks to the several nice private areas, whether internal or with a view over the pretty Battersea square.
It was fantastic, everything, the food, the service, the prices, it can’t be better!
a really great sunday lunch experience. we had a fabulous waiter and the food was excellent. highly recommended
Great food and good service. Felt a bit dated in there and missing the charm a traditional English pub has. We got the lovers January deal which was spectacular and the food was superb.
3rd visit to London House but unfortunately didn't live to expectations. Overpriced and food disappointing. Atmosphere and service remain very nice though
Hadn't been to London House for a while as previous experiences had not been great but this was very different. We had a super warm welcome, including the 2 dogs with us. The food was great. Perfect for a late Saturday lunch. No one rushed us, it was all very relaxed and informal. Will definitely put London House back on our list of good local restaurants.
Delightful, fine dining, unfussy - very helpful and engaged staff
