Marble & Grain
The simple philosophy of Marble & Grain is to look at the classic elements of European Steakhouses and deliver them in a modern form. Created by the award-winning Australian architecture firm, Paul Kelly Designs, Marble & Grain covers two distinct spaces. The first is the bar area, featuring high tables and stools, as well as a row of low tables that take full advantage of the extensive bi-fold windows without blocking the view of those gathered around the beautiful marble bar. Exposed concrete walls create a contrast to soft leather seating while presenting a matte surface that plays off the polished brass highlights within.

Food was beautiful but restaurant was very noisy & service was rushed. Only a few vegetarian options & no bombe Alaska despite being sent an email during the week that the menu had been updated with both
Meat was grilled to perfection. Pitty the service wasn't on par with the food!
Amazing experience, beautiful food, great options and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. Well worth it!
Food good, service poor and staff more worried about ending shift than attending to tables. Not good.
We had a very nice meal at marble and grain on monday night, when many other places are closed. Food was excellent, our waitress attentive and courteous, and prices for food and wine very reasonable. Enjoyed tables not too close and the feeling of spaciousness. Will go there again.
Great service. Listened to the waitstaff and had the Tomahawk steak. Always lovely.
We would dine again, but next time will dress more warmly (even though it is winter and we were warmly dressed). It was so cold in the restaurant that we wore our overcoats at the table, and used our scarves for knee rugs.
My steak was tender, but I asked for medium rare and it really was well done and unfortunately only just warm, my potatoes were almost cold as well.
The staff were friendly and attentive, and the overall ambience was very nice, it's just a shame that is was sooo damn cold in there!
Share the love platters are good portion. But big eaters should go for individual meals
Sensational service and steaks to die for. Very much looking forward to going back
The Steak tasting plate plus Moreton Bay bugs was the absolute highlight of our 4 day stay. Superbly cooked. Outstanding service. Awesome ambience. We will be back and we will be telling all our friends and family. We have our go to restaurant for visitors as well.
Food was amazing but unfortunately the service was quite a let down. Took far too long for someone to acknowledge we were waiting to be seated and then we were forgotten about to order and I had to get up to call the attention of someone.
The restaurant is quite lovely & the service was excellent. Some menu items are quite expensive. The steaks are amazingly cooked though some items were a let down including the Morton bay bug ‘extra’ & the dessert pudding.
the tenderloin was delicious, tender and cooked just right.
It was relaxing, lovely ambience, service was good and the food was great, we had tartare entree and crumbed calamari, followed by a range of steaks all well cooked.
Enjoyed the evening greatly.
We had sourdough starter (I guess I have a different definition of sourdough) which was good and the scallops in a nice citrus hollandiase and shared the meat platter cooked perfectly. The wine list was solid Aussie but hey, we are in Oz.
The service was engaging and pleasant but very quick. This is not a slow paced restaurant. Hats off to the chefs.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding
Awesome awesome food . Highly recommended . I will return
The main servings were ample and delicious however we did manage to squeeze in a side of roasted kipfler potatoes and Brussel sprouts yum yum.
Quick and efficient service and excellent steaks enjoyed in comfortable surroundings.
I definitely would return to try more dishes. The smoked bbq baby pork ribs
smokey bbq glaze was amazing!!!
Amazing food with Amazing staff!
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back when I’m in Canberra next!
Good location, very accessible, Great service, exceptional food, The rib eye steak & Blue cheese sauce is amazing. Matched with a nice bottle of red was a terrific night out.
Fabulous the food was divine.
Great way to celebrate my 50th
The food was incredible and very reasonably priced for such quality. The halloumi fries are to die for! Would recommend for a lovely meal with excellent service and ambience.
My dish was meant to be gluten free, but i walked out with a severe bloated belly and now my RA is killing me. Not so sure its gluten free, so watch out for that. Other wise ok.
The service was clinically good but without warmth or personality. The sirloin ordered medium rare was overdone. We ordered a side of fries but was not told the steak came with baby potatoes. We would have ordered a different side had we known and hardly touched the fries. Overall a good but barely memorable meal.
Food was amazing, and wait staff was great!! Really lovely place!
We ordered a steak tasting platter with a side of corn and it was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was great, attentive to detail, checked on us and our drinks all night.
Happy to find a steak restaurant that has knowledgeable staff and meat cooked beautifully .
First time and unsure about what to expect- Food was fabulous; service was friendly and prompt!!!
I will be going back to try as much of the menu as I can - A delicious experience!!!
Always good tasty food. A very good choice on the menu. Service is very good. Staff know their job and are always happy to help you.
My go-to to impress my partner, family, friends and business partners for the past few years, has not ceased to amaze every time.
The overall meal was wonderful.
My partners steak was all fat and grizzle, could not eat it. It must have been the last end cut, very disappointing, especially the cost of the steak. They did give us dessert on them to compensate.
The wait staff were wonderful, and for the chef to say that the wait staff should have told us that cut should not have been recommended for rare.., really, then do not put it on the menu. My partner has had this cut at other restaurants without an problems
Very good restauran
High quality meat
We had a very good time
We were really looking forward to this restaurant - love a good steak house.
What you expect / want firstly from a steakhouse is the ability to just cook a good steak to order.
The "medium" steak ordered was WELL done - a quarter of it was so well (over) done it was inedible. The "rare" steak ordered was half rare and half medium - disappointing.
On the menu the steaks don't say what comes with them - so we ordered one side of salad, and one side of kipfler potatoes - $20 - when the steaks came the plate included roasted potatoes and a rocket salad - yes, our mistake for not asking the waiter, but he could have told us what came with the steak. The sides then did not get half eaten.
The bottle of wine we ordered was $54 - and it sells in Dan Murphy's for $13.30 a bottle. 400% mark up ? $54 was the second cheapest red wine on the menu.
At $195 for 2, and with the 2 steaks not even close to being cooked to order - not good value at all.
Best steak in Canberra for sure! Place is good and value for money is great.
Took my mum there for Mother’s Day dinner and we really enjoyed the food and service.
Great choice of foods on the menu.
Amazing flavors and our waiter was very friendly and helpful.
Fantastic venue with great food and drinks. Our server was excellent. Can't say enough good things.
Great food, great wine! Love the Clonakilla Shiraz!
Red wine jus is to die for.
