Bartender rude at best. Baguette impossible to break, cut or eat. Toasted sliced bread was burnt also impossible to eat. The chouquette dessert rang a different price on bill than featured on the menu. Overall, underwhelming experience. Disappointed.
Our server and all the staff were fantastic. Food was delicious and drinks were excellent as well. We came in earlier in the dinner service so ambiance was nice and quiet. Definitely save room for the Baked Alaska!
The staff there are exceptional in every way and made our special occasion one we will remember for a very long time. It was so special I plan on calling the Manager to tell them in person. I haven’t had an experience like this in any other place really, and will tell everyone I know to make this the place for their special occasion or just go to experience it!
Overall a Wonderful brunch. The omelet, the location, the music, my seat by the window all contributed to a wonderful Sunday brunch.
First of all the wait team are excellent! Very accommodating to our needs and just great overall hospitality Duck wings, foie, loop de mer, salads were all excellent. Desserts of the banana tartin and the chocolate macaroon were to die for.
I took my gf out for a different dinner. Food is super . Wine list outstanding. Go Margeaux if you need a sophisticated place for a special date or business meal
We were a party of 6 but overall the food and experience was horrible. First of all finding that restaurant was a pain. There are absolutely no signs whatsoever on finding it. You enter then you have to take the elevator (you don't know that though- No signs!) Then you are not sure what to press in the elevator. You guess around.
When you get up there no one is there to greet you. It takes a minute until YOU look for a waitress and ask them for your reservation.
Then you go to your seat (the place looks fancy). Once we got there it took a while until our server came. His name was either Jake or Jack. He did do very poorly as he did not spend time explaining on the dinner menu. He also never came back to ask if we need anything or if the food was good. I had to call for him to ASK MYSELF for the dessert menu!!
I ordered the Steak Frittes which was absolutely horrible. And I paid $34 on it. The steak was COLD. Literally COLD! I also ordered the burger to share with someone. That was okay.
I won't go back there, such a disappointment!
Service between courses was very slow. We were there for over 2 hours. Everything else was great! The waiter seemed a bit frazzled and rushed even though very slow.
I went there for Mother's Day brunch and was looking forward to brunch items but they had a pre-fixed menu and was not offering the regular menu. Beet salad was good but needs more arugula. Lemon tart was just okay, didn't like the biscuit. Salmon was very good. I will go back again to try their regular menu. We were seated in front of the live band, so it was fun but just a little too loud.
Service was very slow, we got a special 3-course brunch and took forever for second course to come out. Long after we were done and no one came to clear our plates or bring third course, we actually had to wave down a hostess, although our server and what appeared to be a manager rushed past our table several times. So we ended up getting third course to go, because we were with kids and had been there for so long. Was a really bad ending to a so-so meal. Made it worse that no one including server even acknowledged or apologized for delays. First course was good, and live band was nice.
I took my mom here for a Mother’s Day brunch and were blown away. Food was exceptional and it made her feel very special. Definitely will be back here!
At the end of the day it was a restaurant in a hotel, albeit a very nice hotel. The server looked like he had better places to be and the food was fine. In the city of Chicago with all its amazing eateries, this was nothing to write home about.
Had an excellent dinner this Friday. The service was outstanding. The waiter was very helpful and they did a great job pacing the dinner. The food was great, we will be back in a few weeks.
The food was outstanding. Ron and our other servers were very attentive and pleasant. Would absolutely recommend and go again
We had an outstanding meal ! 2 of us had the salmon Wellington and it was wonderful! The third person had several appetizers as his main course and loved them all. Great desserts as well. The service is really great and friendly and attentive with courses timed well and never felt rushed even though it was a busy Saturday night. It is a perfect addition to the neighborhood. It is a brasserie but definitely the creative food has some haute cuisine creativity. We loved our meal and highly recommend the restaurant!
We had a delightful evening at Margeaux Brasserie....the service was outstanding...the food delicious and the the ambience charming.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The staff was very accommodating. Totally worth the money.
First time visit. Saturday brunch. We were a party of six celebrating my daughter’s birthday. James was our server and he was incredible. His recommendations were spot on and he was always available without hovering. My daughter opted for the nonstop rosé and James was kind enough to pour all of us a glass for a toast. So appreciative of the gesture. Brioche French toast was the winner, but the French omelet and lobster benedict were close seconds. Can’t wait to return!
Excellent food and service. We love this restaurant.
Very elegant. The value was very good for the decor and atmosphere. Enjoyed myself.
Although the food was delicious, the service was difficult with long waits between visits from our waiter. In addition we requested that one of our entrées that had significant leftover food be put in a doggy bag but it never returned and after waiting for someone/anyone to come back we gave up and left without the food. The restaurant is extremely noisy and it was difficult to have a conversation at our table of four.
Really cute spot for brunch with a great menu, unfortunately service wasn’t particular efficient.
Loved it! Food was great, service was great, and ambiance was perfect. Will definitely be back
Authentic and creative interpretation. A delight. New chef is superb
Absolutely amazing service!! Food was phenomenal!! They made our anniversary an experience we will never forget
Slow service, steak bad, not quite right all around
Went here on a Sunday morning at 9am. We had reservations but I don't think you would need them as it wasn't busy yet. We were a group of three. We split the fruit plate as a starter and it was good! It had honeydew melon, watermelon, pineapple, and berries! To drink we all had the coffee and enjoyed it. I split two entrees with my brother. One of them being the Croissant Maine Lobster Benedict. It was delicious! It came with a decent amount of lobster, and we were happy with it. We also shared the French omelet which was light and tasty. My fiancé had the Braised Short Rib and Eggs. He enjoyed it! It was a large cut of short rib as well, definitely got his money's worth. Service was fantastic! Our waiter brought out complimentary Potato Rosti since we had been asking about them. Overall a wonderful experience!!
The Food and service was perfect. The Lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection.
Staff was attentive and there at just the right time throughout the meal.
Great ambience, food and drink on a nasty April night.
Service was outstanding. Wine list was extensive. However, I was disappointed in the menu choices. I was looking for more traditional french fare. We ordered the cheese plate and the choices were domestic with one Italian cheese. Margeaux was ok, but I don't think I would go back.
Great service, very nice setting but only fair eats. Bread came out hard as a rock, seriously overdone and that set the tone. Duck wings app, French onion soup and the cheeseburger were the fan favorites of the group. Of the party of five, four were disappointed with their entrees (most had steak) and sides. Maybe it was just an off day and I know that they have a new Chef so maybe it’s just growing pains. I will probably give it another try.
Not recommended for anything
We had Easter brunch at Margeaux and had a lovely time.
The restaurant has a very nice bar area with the restaurant behind it. Expected more for a Michelin star though. Lack of tablecloths left a feeling of lesser quality restaurant. Enjoyed some dishes such as the lobster gnocchi and the Loup de Mer, though the strong spinach/parsley/herb sauce served with it was absolutely too strong for such a mild fish, and the fish portion was quite small. Salmon Wellington was more crust than salmon, though salmon itself was delicious. Grilled broccolini very good. Service was terrific. They have a nice happy hour in the bar and it was quite busy when we went in earlier that day for a drink. Would return to the bar but probably not to the restaurant.
Michael Mina’s only Midwest establishment is worth the visit. We loved the food and they went out of their way to acknowledge my husband’s birthday. I only wish there were more Mina restaurants in Chicagoland.
The food was AMAZING!!! Nice place to brunch and to feel special!! I loved everything about this restaurant
Stayed at the hotel , so tried the restaurant there. It was AMAZING. Chef has a restaurant in my town as well at four seasons DC, far better than the dc one.
Food was amazing, service was great.
Gorgeous ambiance and the best breakfast experience I’ve had in Chicago ❤️. We had the brioche French toast and the omelette and shared a cappuccino and it was perfect.
Tasty modern versions of classic French fare. Will return. Desserts need work, though.
For my boyfriend's birthday they put us in a quiet intimate corner by the window, and it was perfect! The food and service was amazing, and at the end they brought out a giant chocolate macaroon with a candle and drizzled fudge. Margeaux helped make his birthday so special!
