One of our favorite Chicago haunts. Brunch, dinner, happy hour, anytime-the ambience is perfect, the food always delicious and thoughtfully executed, excellent service. If I'm doing the picking I always choose Margeaux.
Next reservation already made! See you soon!

This used to be a great place! I really hoped it would take off... They had changed the menu since we last gone and the night goes down hill from there. Service was HORRIBLE! We sat under an air conditioner and literally finished dessert at the bar because I could not take it anymore! The steak Frites was a huge chunk of meat not steak frites. Food took forever. Never got plates with anything. to share, I will not be going back. Makes me sad as I love this hotel in my city and sad this is going down hill.

Very good. Loved everything about it. The food was great as was the atmosphere and service. Found the place thanks to a travel zoo voucher. Happy for that as I will defonately go again soon. It really is worth it. It is a lovely French restaurant with some very nice dishes to try. Some are a bit different from your regular French bistros. You have to try the lobster gnocci and the duck wings. You can make a meal out if them really. So good!!!!

Waldorf makes you feel fancy enough without having to BE fancy. The food was great and the ambiance is very laid back and nice. Perfect for my two girlfriends and I to have long conversation and enjoy each others company. One thing I loved was they didn't rush you out or make you feel hurried. We will definitely be going back!

Everything was amazing, we had the crab cake as a starter and were offered complimentary lemon aioli fries. Then my wife had bouillabaisse and I had king crab endive caesar which was phenomenal. For the main course we had steak frites and rack of lamb, the rack of lamb was superb but the steak was a little more done than I asked for (medium to medium-well on the furthest and smallest bits of the piece of meat instead of the requested medium-rare). Dessert was a classic creme brulee, delicious as always. Truly a fantastic meal.

Absolutely outstanding! The fois gras, the lobster pot pie, the oysters and the dover sole were wonderful. In addition the amuse bouche and the complimentary french onion soup were delightful surprises. Our server Alex couldn't have been better. . . always there when we needed him, and had great suggestions about wine too. Jose the GM also stopped by the table to make sure everything was going well. All in all, I have to say this was one of the nicest evenings we've had. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was terrific. I would highly recommend Margeaux Brasserie if you're looking for a special night out. Also, the cocktails are so unique and tasty!

Wonderful spot for a nice brunch. The restaurant is very nice. I had the Croissant Salmon Benedict. It was prepared perfectly and looked wonderful on the plate. Service was very good. I'd definitely return.

This restaurant is high quality! The staff is very knowledgeable, the drinks were spot on, and the food was superb. You can tell the chef cares about his work. I ordered a steak medium-rare and received one that was only marginally more on the medium side. Without my saying anything, the chef anticipated the steak wasn't cooked to my order and immediately sent out one that was cooked perfectly within minutes. I didn't mention anything outloud to any of the staff, he just knew it wasn't up to his standard. Both steaks were amazing! Highly recommended, will be coming back again.

We have been to this restaurant several times, and it is such a great addition to our neighborhood. It is our favorite restaurant at this time. The service is excellent, the food and new menu are fabulous. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

We love MM places but this new addition doesn’t make the grade.

Welcome was cold, server took forever to greet us, had to ask for a wine list, onion soup had no taste and few onions, the medium rare steak was well done. No coffee or desert offered. In a town that shines with great food Margeaux has a long ways to go.

A spectacular comeback for this very special place. We had a negative experience here about a year ago. The room is so handsome we decided to give it another go. The new chef is excellent. The menu is challenging and delicious. The wait staff was knowledgeable and extremely attentive. And of course it’s a beautiful place to spend a few hours. I highly recommend it.

Service was slow even though there were only 3 tables with customers.

There were more staff than patrons and some how we still ended up waiting long periods between courses

Food was mediocre for the price, and our waiter forgot one of the items we ordered, and he even repeated it back to us. We didn’t bother asking for it as we figured we would be done with the meal before we saw him again.

We skipped desert due to not wanting to wait on the service

Michael Mina needs to do much better with this place, there is nothing special about it —Mon Amis Gabis is better and when Paris Club was alive it was much better. Service is untrained and food prep uninspired. Oysters were very good— so there is something important to build on

We had reservations for brunch at Margeaux at 12:30 on a Sunday. We had just completd the "Hustle up the Hancock" race for charity (climbing 94 flights of stairs), so we were still in our team workout attire. We arrived early around 11:45, and the hostess said she would try to seat us early. There were several open tables, but we were not seated. We sat at the bar and waited 30 minutes before we were able to get a drink. There was one bartender servicing the bar seating and the restaurant and he was slammed. When we were finally seated, it took another 20 minutes before we could get a second drink, then another 20 minutes before we could order. There appeared to be only one waiter for the entire dining room - there were tons of food runners & bussers, but their roles were limited, so we couldn't get full service from them.
The food was good, but none of the brunch entrees came with side dishes (potatoes, etc), which we didn't realize. It then took forever to get our check and pay. We were at the restaurant 3 hours total and it was not a "leisurely, relaxing" 3 hours. Additionally, the clientele and the staff were fairly stiff.

I have been to Margaux several times. Each time there was a glitch. The hotel is lovely and ambiance is fine, but...the service and the management at the restaurant seem unproportionately unsophisticated.
Last time I was there they didn’t have Earl Gray tea. They had it listed on the menu though. It is so bizarre that in the city of best tea purveyors they would allow themselves to run out of something that simple. I think that is the reflection of poor management that only got reconfirmed during my next visit. The waiter did not visit our table not even ONCE during our entire meal, and he was not even in sight, so I went through the whole dining experience without a piece of toast that I needed. I ended up ordering a piece of toast after the meal from the busboy. He brought me a burnt one. Just terribly subpar for what it is supposed to be and for the location of the hotel.

Every thing we ordered from the cocktails to the dessert were superb! The service was impeccable as well! The lobster pot pie was decadent and flavorful. The lobster itself was also perfectly cooked. So sweet and tender; a must try! The baked Alaska was also a classic with great modern flavors like cocoa nibs. Wonderful spot for date night!

appetizer seafood for my husband was very good. Salmon wellington had almost no flavor and tasted a bit fishy. My husbands duck was very good!
Baked alaska was not good either: The icecream was brick hard, vanilla tasted bland like they had forgotten the vanilla, chocolate was lacking in flavor. The meringue was about 1/4 inch all around. Whatever they heated and poured over it-did not care for the flavor. When lit and poured must have been too much. We were supposed to blow it out which we couldnt until it was almost all burned off, hence the sides of the meringue were charred black, Even then the inside was still as hard as a brick.

Been here twice now. First time had the Cote de Boeuf and it was easily the best steak I’ve ever had. Second time our steak was over cooked, but our server recognized the issue, apologized, and then gave us certificates for a free entree. Service is always outstanding and the food is great.

Not sure where to begin.

I think every person alive should have the privilege of dining here once in their lifetime.

To say both the food and experience were outstanding would be an understatement.

I literally asked the chef to come out to complement him myself and thank him.

Just go. Worth every penny.

Dining at Margeaux Brasserie is close to spending a few hours in Paris. The food is delicious, with a variey of bistro fare. Service is warm and friendly. Wine selections are reasonable and varied. We will be returning!

Went for a birthday brunch and there was something for everyone. The place is clean and bright. I plan to come back with my girlfriends for lunch or brunch again.

Nicolas and Alex were amazing! They were so attentive. The food not as good as it used to be. Too much oil or the balance of flavor and texture was not there amongst most meals.

This was our third time here, and each time we leave satisfied beyond our expectations! We had a wonderful dinner, excellent service, and a fascinating conversation with our Sommelier about the wine he selected (which was outstanding). We stayed at the hotel and returned for brunch the next day and found this to be equally delicious. The pastries here are to die for! Thank you Margeaux Brasserie for two delicious meals. We will be sure to return.

We really wanted to like this place and add it to our dinner rotation. Drinks were great, staff was friendly. Food is average, and there is no reason to eat an average meal in Chicago. And then service fell off as well (had to ask three times for water to be refilled and place our order several different times). I can't think of a single reason to come back when every other place in Chicago at this price level is better.

Our experience was not impressive at all. The food was cold, the waitstaff were just fine and the food itself was also so-so. We were expecting to be wowed, but we were underwhelmed. We may give it another try at some point, but we are definitely not returning anytime soon.

I went for a intimate, romantic valentine’s dinner with my partner. I made the reservation in advance and was staying at the hotel. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait about 10 minutes for our reserved table, which we were more than happy to do expecting to have a wonderful experience. However, it was the exact opposite. They squished us in the middle of 2 tables that were no more than arms length away. We couldn’t hear each other or the wait staff. The food was practically left untouched and it was entirely overpriced for the quality. Honestly it had more of a bar and grill vibe. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

We stayed at the Waldorf over Valentine’s Day weekend and it was nice to have a good restaurant inside the hotel. We are breakfast here on two occcasions and the food was excellent. We had great service both times - the staff is very attentive and helpful. The Bloody Mary abs mimosas were very nice as well - definitely a good spot to stop in and check out.
