Mastro's Ocean Club - Boston
Wonderful food never disappoints. Fabulous for special occasions or an every day indulgence.
The steak had no flavor. The tuna tartare was sub-par. Overly expense. Not a good value for what you got. The drinks were good as well as the bread basket and heirloom tomatoes. Other than that, I would not go there again for a full meal. May just have drinks, tomatoes and bread basket.
Really, really great experience. Extremely busy, so noise level was high. But I really enjoyed it.
Food, Service, Ambiance were all amazing. If you're not afraid to spend some $, you won't regret the experience.
I made a reservation to celebrate a Birthday. I’m absolutely disgusted with your host staff. Typically we prefer booth seating, however, after last time we noticed it was way too noisy in the booth seating. Tonight I asked specifically to be seated at a table by the window. When we arrived I tried to confirm window seating. Unfortunately I was told it would be a 45 minute wait. The host seated us next to a large table of noisy men in a close to 1/2 empty restaurant. I asked the host again to be seated at 3 other tables further away from the noisy crowd. I was told those tables were already reserved. It was a complete and total lie. I sat at our table the rest of the night unable to hear anything from the person sitting next to me. Not a single person was sat at any table let alone the tables I requested. Absolutely disgusted with this place. This used to be our favorite restaurant, but I do not want to return after that disgusting night. Beyond disappointing and upset with your host staff over this. There is absolutely no excuse for this. Awful.
Great place , awesome food and service . Our waiter and the guy at the men bathroom was incredible.
They were super attentive to us and really made my wife's 50th birthday special!
I wish I could afford to go more often!
Food was great and real good portion sizes.
Hostess set the tone by being welcoming and very accommodating. Other servers were just as accommodating. Ambiance and decor set the table for delicious food. Very noisy in bar area, but more reasonable further back. Beautiful window view. Be aware: prices are high, but in keeping with the Seaport area.
Everything was amazing
Always the bests
It felt MAFIOSO.... despite a lovely dinner and great wine.
Out to dinner with friends and 3 out of 6 got ill from dinner - you don't want the details.
Had a reservation at 8 was not seated until 8:30. They seated us at a dirty table with drinks and plates from previous people on it. Ordered asparagus as a side and they brought us spinach. All around terrible experience for such an expensive meal. Never been more disappointed in a Boston area steak house.
Food was fantastic. Service was impeccable. I’d return and recommend to others.
My only notes for the future would be about noise level (it was quite loud), and the crowds. We had an 8pm reservation but weren’t seated until 830. And “waiting at the bar” meant standing two deep, and constantly getting bumped by (polite/apologetic) servers. Thankfully the view was impressive, and the 30 minutes went by quickly while we took in the sights of Boston’s elite at play.
Great place. Staff was attentive.
We have been to Mastro’s a number of times for special dinners. This one was my wife’s birthday. We requested a high top in the bar area next to the windows. One we have reserved in the past. Got a call the day of the reservation to reconfirm. Said we would get the table and asked the spelling of my wife’s name. Arrived at the restaurant we shown the table. It had a nice birthday card on it. But my wife noticed that the server called her by my name (mine could be male or female). She politely corrected her. Ordered drinks , two very nice appetizers, Oysters Rockefeller & Seared Big Eye Tuna. For our main meal my wife had the bone in filet and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Both were excellent. We were surprised by a complimentary birthday dessert. However what really surprised us was the plate had my name on it, not my wife’s. Every place can make a mistake. However, I spelled out my wife’s name when they called and my wife corrected the server. Kind of unacceptable for such a high end restaurant. That’s been reflected in my rating.
Giant portions. Great location on the water. Beautiful restaurant.
Dinner with Mastro's was EXCELLENT. Service, presentation, food, and you just can't beat the ambiance!! Will definitely be back. This was a business dinner, and our guests were DELIGHTED.
Seafood tower was unbelievably awesome !
Lobster bisque was unbelievably awesome !
Service staff was more than accommodating and friendly and concerned.
The fish was bad and we sent it back - that’s very rare for us.
Outstanding food and service. Ambiance was more lively, energetic, and fun than other high-end steakhouses.
We had reservations Saturday night at 7;30pm we were 10 minutes late but got seated right away. The restaurant was packed and the noise level very high on top of the entertaining music, very hard to talk in a table for 4 but the atmosphere was very energetic.
Two of us had oysters, a tuna tartar and the octupus carpacio, they were all very good. For entree two had Filet Mignon, a Seabass, and a Tuna and again they were all delicious with the side dishes.
It was our anniversary so we complimented that with profiterols for dessert, the drinks and wine were also good and on time.
Our server YennieP was very attentive, courteous and friendly and made our experience memorable. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to other people, but when you go don't look at the prices it's expensive but great.
The food was amazing and the service was top notch! We will definitely be back!
Fabulous food & location (we sat outside with a spectacular view of the harbor).
Our waiter Anthony was exceptional. Definitely recommend!
The only downside to this venue is the traffic hassle getting in & out of the seaport district.
We really enjoyed our food. Some of the portions are small for the price which should be expected. I’d go again but would probably not splurge on the lobster mashed or adding bacon to the Brussels sprouts due to the price.
The foul smell in the dining room overpowered the meal which was mediocre at best. About any other steakhouse in town is better
We had our anniversary dinner here and it was amazing. Marc was one of, if not the best, server we ever had...and the food was good, too. 😀
Always amazing food! Great service! Way better than comparable steakhouses in the area!
My family and I had a wonderful experience at Mastro’s. The service was top tier and the food is truly excellent. Best steakhouse in Boston.
We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. Our waiter, Mark, couldn’t have been anymore helpful and congenial. We will definitely return.
Extremely loud but great service . Great for celebrating with groups
Excellent service and food. Espresso martini was perfect.
Great experience, we’ll be back!
We celebrated our daughter’s high school graduation at Mastro’s and the service was AMAZING, the food was incredible and the views gorgeous. Highly recommend!
My girlfriend and I visited Mastro’s last night for our sixth anniversary. Atmosphere and decor are beautiful. Service was absolutely perfect. From the time we entered until the moment we left every front of house staff member was attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. The crab truffle gnocchi was incredible. My girlfriends Aspen Ridge NY strip was unevenly cooked, perfectly cooked on one side and overcooked on another. I ordered my Aspen Ridge Ribeye medium rare, it came out medium. I don’t normally send food back but because its a prime cut of beef, an expensive one at that, i had to. The refired steak came out rare. It wasnt the med rare i ordered but I can do rare steak. So instead of sending it back and having to wait while our other steak was already delivered to the table about 10 min before that, I ate the rare steak. Kudos to the amazing wait staff and hostesses.
We had a great meal with a great server which was most important. I believe her name was Chloe. The only thing I didn’t like was we didn’t have a good table and I had called and requested a round table with a good view and although they couldn’t guarantee it we wound up with a rectangular table with 2 people facing the water, one person facing a wall and the other side of 3 facing the service door to the kitchen and then one on the end sticking out into walkway. Not good. It was a very special occasion. Very loud inside but we had a lot of fun. Great martinis!
My wife and I had a great time! Our waiter (Jason) was amazing !
Great food and great staff! Super attentive, probably one of the most upscale spots in Boston
Great setting. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was mixed and some dishes were served cold. Expensive for the overall quality service mix.
The service and our waiter was excellent.
The food was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful. However, The noise level and the pace of all the waiters carrying heavy trays over your head was extremely distracting and it was difficult to have a conversation.
I felt we were there just to eat and not for a fine dining experience. For the cost of dinner I expected the whole experience.
