Mastro's Ocean Club - Boston
Everything was great the food atmosphere service we had a really good time I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
I am usually a fan of Mastro's and have dined with them at restaurants around the country. This was a birthday celebration for my son so we were very excited about our celebration. I should have sensed a problem when they seated us in a cramped spot right by the kitchen door. Mind you we had made a reservation well in advance, it was at 6:15 so not the busiest time, and indicated it was a celebration so I was taken aback by the location of our table. We then sat at the table for seven to 10 minutes before our server came over. From there it became more frustrating as the server did not comprehend what our preferences were for salads and appetizers. All this time I was constantly being bumped as wait staff entered and exited the kitchen.
Finally, the noise level in the restaurant was very high, making it hard to carry on a conversation.
This is a very expensive steak house so there are expectations when dining with family, friends or associates. On this visit Mastro's failed to meet those expectations which was magnified due to the occasion.
We went to Mastros’s for a birthday celebration. First time there for us and it was outstanding! The ambiance was classy but not stuffy. The live piano and singer was a nice touch and I wish more restaurants did that.
Mo was our server and was fantastic. We never waited for anything and he was always checking in to make sure everything was to our liking.
Truly great service from beginning to end!
Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Always fabulous, service outstanding and food prepared perfectly
Just ok, high expectations not met. My lobster was great, everyone else did not love their meals. Salmon was dry, sole was just plain, deserts just ok. Nothing special, price not reflective.
We were there for restaurant week. I liked clam chowder soup very much. Salmon was perfect but without any sides. The cheesecake was awesome.
Great place for a special occasion. Great service. Food was piping hot. Delicious. Be sure to ask for table in the main dining room where ther is a beautiful view. We were in the back room and there was no view. Definitely expensive.
It was a great experience, but the noise is high , the team works perfectly. The food was delicious and well prepared. Highly recommend!!!
I’m a vegetarian. I called to confirm my reservation and asked the hostess if there would be vegetarian menu options, she said yes but limited and ask your server when you arrive. I asked our server and he checked with the chef and told me that there are vegetables on the menu that I can choose from. I was well aware of the vegetable option but was looking for something more. Typically when I go to an upscale restaurant the chef is more than happy to accommodate my dietary needs or there is at least one vegetarian option. I was disappointed that my only options where side dishes.
Impeccable service from the entire staff!! I can’t say enough about our waiter Marc he was extremely attentive and treated our 11 year son like a young man. Per Marc’s suggestion our dinner was presented family style vs. individual entrees, which to us made our dining experience even more special. We’ve been to our share of 4/5* establishments but by far none can compare to the service @ Mastro’s. We’ll definitely be back in the very near future. Oh and if you’re a dessert person you MUST try the warm butter cake!
Fresh stuff and beautiful view, will definitely come back place!
Love the view!
a little too long Waite, food and atmosphere are great
One of the nicest most upscale restaurants I've been to in a long time! Everything was excellent. Highly recommended.
We were celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Tutu surprised us with a beautiful birthday tray of deliciousness. Our waiter was excellent, as was Chloe, who always welcomes us as friends.
When we first arrived, the hostess tried to sit us at a high top bar table even though we had a reservation. My friends did not want to make a fuss and decided to sit down, just go with the flow.
However, I was upset with the hostess and requested to sit in the dining room. That's the reason why I made a dinner reservation weeks in advance, not to mention that we had an elder aunt with us that might be hard for her get to the high top table. After a wait, we finally got seated in the dining room.
The bread basket was amazing, chowders were delish, steaks were cooked to perfection, lobster mash potatoes was dreamy, except for the cream spinach. It was awful, watery, tasteless and kind of like runny wallpaper paste. We did enjoy our meals except the cream spinach; the wait staff were attentive.
It is our first time been there. Everything is good. The waiter, John is very good guy. He explained all the dishes to us. He is kind and nice. The noise from the clients are bit noisy.
This restaurant is a place for a special treat. They know how to treat their customers and make you feel special - whether you are there on a busy Saturday night or on a Monday night during Dine Out Week. Drinks at the bar were delicious - and the food was wonderful. It is a place I will look forward to coming back to.
My first time there and will not be my last.
Enjoyed myself and my side cars!
Everything was amazing!
Food was very good, but also way overpriced. $29 for a cocktail is excessive. Very loud restaurant, and poor table selection.
We were in town visiting our son and we were looking for a special place to dine. Mastro’s has exceptional food and service. It was a wonderful experience.
DELICIOUS as usual!! Service was outstanding! We had Jason and he is amazing 😊
After waiting for 45 minutes without even a drink order being taken, we left. With the plethora of restaurants in Boston and at the Seaport, I will not be returning.
A++, Connor and Mark were beyond accommodating and gave excellent service, kept me and my girlfriend very happy on our anniversary. Will definitely be back!
This was my second time eating here. The first time my friend and I sat outside on the patio with a perfect view of the water and sunset. This time we sat inside. There was live music but the noise level was high so it was hard to hear anything. The food was excellent, I enjoyed their bread basket, especially the sourdough bread. Their roasted herb chicken may been one of the top ones I’ve had, after the chicken at Sorellina and Deuxave. For dessert we had the cheesecake and butter cake. I enjoyed the cheesecake more than their butter cake. I felt the butter cake was too rich and one note.
Poor table selection. Rushed dinner. Plates scorching hot which resulted in over cooking the meal. Very loud. Kept getting bumped into by wait staff.
Wonderful view of Boston Harbor. Excellent service. Wonderful food. Great place for special evening.
The chef changed my experience from the last visit. Vast differences as this time the food was amazing! Would definitely go back
Nice place. Had a good experience.
Everything was delicious. Our waiter was phenomenal and had wonderful recommendations. We will definitely be back!
Went on a "restaurant night" to see if it was as perfect as our first (regular) visit. Everything was EXCELLENT: service, ambiance, and food (even though we chose to order from the limited "restaurant night" menu). We will be back again soon!
Nice dining room
We have enjoyed dining at other Mastro's restaurants and have long wanted to try out the Boston location. We visited during "restaurant week," but left with some mixed feelings. The entrees and desserts were excellent, as were the side dishes (at additional cost). Sadly, the appetizers did not measure up. The Mambo salad was pretty ordinary, and the clam chowder was a tiny portion composed mostly of mushy potatoes. They should be able to do better. At any rate, the harbor view was stunning, and the dinner service was good, but the restaurant was very loud, dark and crowded. The dining room did not feel particularly special, and it was difficult to sustain a conversation at normal volume. Be aware that this is not the spot for a quiet or romantic dinner. At this high price point, there are more charming and comfortable venues available in Boston. I'm not sure that I would return.
Had fantastic time on Sun night, nice view, great experience
The service is good but the young waiter seems a little bit rush to clean our table for next course. The sea view is nice and the decoration is in good taste, but the noise makes us uncomfortable( it is reasonable during the dine out Boston) the quantity of the food is okay but the taste is somehow very common. By the way, I love the bread.
Our server, Marc, was OUTSTANDING! A group of women friends who love DineOutBoston! Will be back
Living in seaport this is a go to spot. Food and service always great.
