Maya Del Sol
Please note, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone in the party has arrived.
The service was great! We got there at about 7:45 for an 8:00 reservation, and little did I know I actually requested bar seating. The bar was extremely busy when we got there, so I actually asked if regular booth seating was available. Turns out they were happy to accommodate and we were still seated by 7:58! The ambiance was great with the low light and low level Latin music in the background, and the food...let’s just say this is now my favorite restaurant!
Great food and atmosphere! Service was attentive and would definitely come back
Celebrated our anniversary. Servers and manager were very attentive and on top of every detail. Great timing of the food service. Not too fast nor too slow. They’ve got it down to an art. Amazing food and they also have an extensive wine list which we took advantage of to splurge for our 17th!
Romantic setting, my wife loved, I loved it. I definitely recommend and looking forward to return!
I've been to Maya Del Sol many times before, and I'll go again- but I wasn't really feeling the Valentine's Day Menu. In general, the fish tacos, the nachos, the churros, and lots of the regular menu stuff is fantastic- but I think I ordered poorly, and it showed. Of the four courses, I kind of liked my appetizer; the fried avocado was a pass, but the crab on top of it was VERY GOOD. The scallops were good too.
The torilla soup wasn't great, but I don't know if that's because I don't really like soup that much, or it wasn't great soup. The crepes desert was okay, but the star of it wasn't the crepes but the nuts on top of it.
For the price, I guess I expected more. It was fine. But just fine.
All in all, I wouldn't do valentine's day there again, but I'm more than interested in going there on a regular basis for the regular meal.
I have recommended maya del sol to many of my friends. I have friends that drive in from all over the state to eat there. Love everything about Maya del Sol and can’t wait for good weather to sit on outside patio
The food was divine it was much better then I expected. I will return very soon.
Frutas Picante Margaritas are the best! The food overall is delicious and of good quality! Service in general is also outstanding!
I had a good experience.
Food was excellent, as usual. Enjoyable atmosphere.
Waited over a half hour after our reservation time
Waited 30 mins for a table after arriving on time for a reservation. Wasn’t until we got to the 20 min point that an apology was made with the same promise of ‘a few more minutes’ that we had gotten 3 times before.
Cocktails and the sopes appetizer were wonderful. The cochinita and enchiladas were way too salty.
Waitstaff service was very good and very attentive. The food arrived very quickly.
We celebrated by husband's birthday at Maya on Saturday night and it couldn't have been more perfect. The halibut special and filet mignon were perfectly prepared and presented, and everything was delicious. A new manager (at least we haven't seen him before) went over and above to make our experience special. That's the kind of thing that makes you want to return.
Food could have been hotter. It was cold in there and our dinners cooked down quickly. I might have told our waiter but we had waited quite a while for our orders to be taken and for the food to arrive. He did have other tables including a large party of at least twelve. We’ll try it again on a weekday.
I can't believe we have never visited before! Service was great, food was amazing and the tequila menu didn't disappoint.
Food was amazingly delicious, do recommend.. love the cocktail drinks
Very nice place, food, and service. A little over priced, particularly the vegetarian meals. But nice flavors and good drinks.
Mexican is one of my favourite cuisines and we have quite a few options in Chicago/ surrounding area - from upsacle, chains to mom and pop. I attended Maya with a couple of friends this past weekend and we were underwhelmed! Just mediocre, I am afraid.
We went to Maya for a 65th birthday celebration. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our sever was very attentive without being intrusive. The food and drinks were excellent, as always.
Maya del Sol is always terrific. One of our favorites based on great food, great service, fun atmosphere. Don't miss it if you're coming to Oak Park.
A wonderful evening great food excellent service and the bonus of running into friends!
Maya del Sol is a favorite for every day and special occasions. Great food and a fun atmosphere. Always enjoy our dining experience at Maya’s, they don’t disappoint.
Great as always
I’ve been to maya many times since they opened in 2007. It is consistently good, great service, and the staff is always cheerful.
A delightful experience . I would definitely go back .
Service was good but the fish tacos were a bit greasy
The food and drinks are fantastic. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Definitely recommended.
At first, the entrees for my friend and me were prepared incorrectly with the sauces on the food rather than on the side as requested. They were quick to correct the order, however, it really shouldn’t have happened.
Maya del Sol is one of the best restaurants in the Western suburbs. The food and drinks are consistently outstanding, but the service is also extraordinary - from the manager to the hostess to the wait staff. We will be back again soon.
Never go to Maya Del Sol enough. But it is well worth the drive. We were there Saturday for my wife's birthday.
Tried some new dishes a lentil soup and pork tenderloin in a coffee bean marinade, with pureed sweet potatoes and spinach. Outstanding!
We have to compliment our server Claudia so nice, warm and excellent at helping with menu.. Just lover her all 3 of us!
I had the blackened fish tacos. That’s all they put on the plate. They could add a little extra slaw or sauce.
The wait staff was very attentive but a bit forgetful. Had to ask for a straw twice, ice twice.
Everything is ala carte which makes the meal a bit on the expensive side.
Also $10 for a small pour of wine.
Server was inattentive and did not immediately hand me my credit card which I ended up forgetting because my group was headed out the door. I had to come back the next day. No one bothered to call me. Too busy for a Tuesday evening?
This place is adorable and the food is excellent! I plan to go back and try everything on the menu! Super nice people too!
We made a reservation for a group and were seated immediately. Delicious as always!
we had a great brunch at maya del sole. the chilaquiles were delicious as was the benedict of the day. Service is friendly and attentive. Love the place
We visited with another couple in the late Fall 2018 and absolutely loved the food and experience. We booked again for early January 2019 and made the drive in snowy conditions from Western Suburbs for this table of 6. We were not disappointed at all and once again impressed with food and service. We were shown the amazing patio and we'll likely return before it opens but can't wait to experience the spacious outdoor seating under the sun.
We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food is very tasty, complex and super fresh. The service is excellent too. Their outdoor patio is just gorgeous. I love an outdoor fire, heating lamps and they even will bring you a blanket if it's chilly.
Food was great as always. Service was less than stellar, which is not normal for Maya. Waiter seemed less than thrilled to be waiting on us and we had to track him down numerous times just to get the bill. We would’ve bought another bottle of wine but he never came back to check on us. Very disappointing.
Maya missed the mark on Friday night. Chips were cold and stale on 2 rounds. Drinks were tame (I had to order a double for second round to get any flavor in my Paloma), plantain appetizer was barely warm and tasteless, shrimp and rice was bland and soupy. I’m usually a fan but this dinner was a big disappointment. Hoping it was just an off night.
Yessssssssss. The sangria was IT and so was the bun on the cheeseburger. That was real.. I’ll be back 🍔
