Been here many times. Going down hill. Perhaps becoming more of a hotel restaurant-it is attached to the Marriott. The Cote de boeuf was not that tasty, not seared well and very chewy. 5 minutes to eat one bite is not okay. The Caesar salad is now served in tiny bowl with full size pieces of lettuce that had to be cut. More ended up on the table than stayed in the bowl. The guacamole was meh. My favorite was the thick cut fries- they were very good. Service was just ok. Drinks were very slow. 15 minutes after order or more. Nice wine list. Nice offerings by the glass. Five years ago I really liked this place. Now, would have rather gone to a chain. Won’t go back.
Amazing food, Excellent Staff & 5+ atmosphere. good selection on the menu.
This meal was a big disappointment. The restaurant is located in a hotel which often makes me weary but I’ve wanted to try a Gordon Ramsey restaurant and it worked out for tonight. The ambiance was very nice But the service was just terrible. I found the food extremely mediocre except for the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. My daughter enjoyed her half lobster and french fries but the rest of the food was somewhat tasteless. Half of it came to the table lukewarm. That is not a standard I expect from a meal that cost nearly 200 pounds for three people. Or from a restaurant that has the Gordon Ramsey name attached
Great evening enjoy vacation eating wonderful food. Incredible dinner topped off with fabulous desserts.
It is a nice restaurant, we had a very nice and professional waiter.
I think it is a bit pricy to what you get
Not a great start. Service very slow and denied having the set menu we booked (subsequently finding it!). But it improved as the meal went on, the timing picked up and the food itself was good. Not the most atmospheric restaurant and a little hard to justify the price (although I guess I should remember it was in W1 ). So overall passable but not special. Better independent restaurants are available in the same area.
Asked whether the set menu offer was available along with happy hour and were told it was. After ordering drinks told we could only have one promotion so couldn't get set menu offer as had already ordered drinks. After speaking to manager they made an exception. Then after ordering one of our meals one of our party received a totally different meal to what she ordered. It turned out had run out of her meal choice but failed to tell us or offer an alternative. The manager was very apologetic but all the fuss and errors made experience uncomfortable. Food overall was ok but would I return, no probably not.
Steak was burned. I ordered well done but have never had a restaurant serve it burned. I expected more from Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant.
Good value decent food although nothing particularly special, but that was to be expected with the set menu offer so we were happy. The venue and ambience was lovely. The big let down was from a pushy waitress, who seemed to rush us throughout, and was constantly popping up or at the corner of our eye. Other than that, I'd definately return for a mid week bite/dinner.
The waitress recommended for us to order the tomahawk steak and we did. However, the steak was just ordinary. We ordered it cooked medium but the steak was not tender. It was tough to chew on and need more seasoning. It was also expensive. We had some better steaks in the past that were less expensive. Another big let down was the place. The ambiance was good but the a/c was not functioning well. It was very hot in the place and really affected our dining experience. The waitress said it was the same condition for quite sometime already and the hotel hasn’t fixed it yet. The restaurant was located inside Marriott Mayfair.
Waited too long time for that beef Wellington. And that dish is rubbish.
This was simply amazing!! Every detail exquisite and moment spectacular! The food surpassed expectations.
Food was really good, and leave space for the desserts!
Service felt a bit lacking and frantic and it was a bit too warm in the restaurant.
Overall a good dinner, but not excellent.
Every staff member I interacted with were really friendly.
The serving staff were attentive but not overbearingly so. They made sure everything was fine and you wanted for nothing but gave you space to enjoy your meal and the company.
The food arrived promptly, faster than I was expecting.
The food was absolutely delicious.
I will definitely be making another visit to this restaurant.
Ordered the Ribeye and had a few bites of the salmon. Either one and you'll be in for a great evening. The wait staff were attentive and very respectful. Can't wait to visit again.
Food was not prepared well. Salmon was overcooked and steak was not cooked to temperature ordered. The waitress was very impersonal and quite rude, actually. We had dietary restrictions and we felt scolded for not being able to eat certain things. The menu did not have full descriptions of ingredients and when we were told we couldn't have certain items because the ingredients weren't listed we were told that the menu was for "our imagination" (whatever that means).
Thanks, but no thanks. Will not be returning.
We went there for a birthday treat for my son's 18th as he is a huge Ramsay fan. We were looked after from the first moment we arrived, throughout the meal and after. Staff were warm, knowledgable and friendly and took their time to explain everything to us.
The food came out at a leisurely pace and was superb. We started with some popcorn chicken snacks then moved to sharing our starters (Octopus, Steak Tartare and Tuna Sushi).
Main course was the very generous Tomahawk steak shared between two of us and a grilled baby chicken, accompanied by a bottle of Rioja. Despite being full we moved on to dessert and shared a sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee and a special birthday meringue presented to my son.
Throughout all, the staff were attentive and personable. After we had finished my son got to talk to the head chef in the kitchen and cap off a lovely evening. I made a point of thanking the team for making it such a great night and they are a credit to Mr G Ramsay. We'd happily return with a hearty appetite!
Great staff, great tasting food - perfect breakfast - thanks!
Overly attentive waiting staff, asking for orders before I'd say down and we were asked at least 3 times during each course how the food was but didn't acknowledge the response.
Starters and deserts were delicious and I'd recommend them. Mains were disappointing and lacking flavour. I couldn't taste the wasabi in the wasabi leeks.
The set menu was great value for money.
Extremely disappointing experience. Service was passable but food (over cooked, poor quality steak worthy of a not-very-good pub from the 80’s/90’s) was well below par.
Graat food great service small problem handled quickly and with aplombe
Ok but seems fairly sedate and not much of a vibe. Charged 8.50 for a virgin mary and this seems a bit rich.
The food was not that good and the service was acceptable at best. The restaurant is overpriced and includes nothing with entrees, as potatoes & vegetables come as sides. The roast chicken contained bones in almost every bite. The waiter took our order, brought our entrees and then disappeared until we flagged down another waiter to ask for the bill. A two pound cover charge on top of high prices and a mandatory 12.5% service charge was excessive, and I definitely do not recommend this restaurant when in Mayfair.
The place lacks character in and out in an hour Not what you expect from a Gordon Ramsey place
Quite disappointed in the overall experience....first of all the hosts we're not very welcoming (a simple smile and act of enthusiasm would have been enough!); our bottomless was not being refilled - we had to ask for our glasses to be refilled; the food portion was poor (the avocado on toast consisted of 2 thin slice of ciabata bread!); and it felt like we were dumped on a table and left to it!
Good restaurant and good food.
Getting renovated so ambiance reduced then shown to dreadful table by cashier hemmed in - not good
I have to say I have eaten in other Ramsey restaurants and I was disappointed sadly. The staff on entry were cold, not the people I would have front of house to greet my well heeled clientele. The starter of prawns and chilli were ok not great though. Presentation as ok. The garlic bread was burnt and presented well either.
Followed by a fillet steak. Steak was very nice indeed. Pepper sauce was terrible. A side pot of sauce was ordered. It was basically hot water with hint of pepper but tasteless. The sauce was sent back and another appeared. It was still very thin consistency, hardly any taste, lighter in colour with a smidgin of cream. Not a sauce in my book though and I trained as a chef at hotel school for 3 years.
Drinks, waiter didn’t know his drinks wine menu very well. Hendrinks G&T was fine but terrible presentation and at £13 I expect it to look great. Just two slices of cucumber and ice. Which is fine. But it looked like my local pub had served it up.
Restaurant ambience was nothing more than ok. It felt older and slightly fast food and I go to many restaurants globally rather than expensive good quality.
Anyway, I never complain but it was a serious disappointment.
The food was good, particularly the Eaton Mess dessert . Was very noisy and the service was really slow slow, took over half an hour for a tomato juice but our lady waitress Aneta that served us at the bar end of the restaurant on Tuesday night was excellent, a real asset to the place.
We requested the set lunch menu when we booked with the special request section on here but it was completely ignored by staff when we arrived. The service was slow and not very attentive, in fact our waiter left before we even finished our meal and didn’t hand us over to another member of staff. This place has gone down rapidly since my last visit and I don’t think we’ll be back again.
Staff on their phones
Food portions too small
The service quality has dropped significantly since my last visit.
As i have been coming here for many years for special occasions this time we came with work friends and was not happy with the food at all and the taste , i was really shocked when the food quality was low because really recommended them and i was upset
Love this dinner especially the beef wellington!
Tried Maze Grill while staying at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel. Small, but food is wonderful and decor inviting. We would go back again. Great steak and wine.
Very disappointed to find the Asian Fusion restaurant closed for renovation, but the Grill was still very, very good. Not quite the ambiance I would expect of a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, but the food and service were very good.
Very disappointed, service was very impersonal and rushed. Portion size was minimal.
Went as a group for Mother's Day.
Had the Sunday Roast, which was very average.
Staff were great, although thin on the ground.
Overall was a disappointing experience as we hoped for much more.
