                                                            Mele has excellent food, but is much too loud. You cannot carry on a normal conversation. Plus the coffee machine was broken, so no coffee available.

                                                            Service was a disaster! It was our first time dining there. Won't be going back. Got overcharged for 3 appetizers and 1 that never showed up. They had to redo the bill. We waiting an hour & a half and never got our entree. We had reservations via open table. By 8:45 we took our entrees to go and ate them the next day. Never going back.

                                                            We LOVE Mele Bistro because you feel like you are being welcomed into someone's home -- the owner comes to each table and personally welcomes you. He is the warmest person you'll ever meet! The food is also incredible. Such a special place.

                                                            My friend and I dined outside, enjoying the glorious May day! We really enjoyed our meal, and our only comments were that the service seemed a bit slow (water refills and the like), as the evening drew on, and more tables got filled. Perhaps due to staffing issues? However, the visit by the manager(?) towards the end really made up for it. He was super-friendly, and invited us to come visit the restaurant again. He made me feel very welcome, and that is the kind of customer service I appreciate!

The quality of the food is fabulous and the fact that it is all natural, locally sourced and homemade makes this place a true gem!! Frank is always so gracious to greet and chat with his customers. Its is evident that he is passionate about his place! We have never had anything here that was not DELICIOUS!!

                                                            The food is great and the portions are perfect. Staff is very attentive. They explain each special for the evening with great detail. Our server answered each of our questions, but also asked questions to probe our tastes and made suggestions, very helpful.

The restaurant itself is always a pleasant surprise because the owner continually decorates it. On crowded evenings, service is slow, but the food is worth the wait.

                                                            Mele is an excellent restaurant. I really like their small plates because you can order two different meals. I ordered the spicy monkfish. It was excellent. The warm olive appetizer is also delicious. My friend ordered the homemade pasta with red snapper which was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

                                                            I love Mele for its selection of fresh fish and its lively atmosphere. It certainly was hopping on Mother's Day, and service and food were not quite up to their usual high standards. Tables are very close together, so I would not recommend eating inside if you're worried about Covid.

                                                            Mele Bistro is an Arlington gem, and the owner Frank Smiley is welcoming and obviously loves his business. The food is unique and excellent, best ingredients. Ambience inside and out is just great, and servers are friendly and professional. Dining experience is wonderful, and I meet business colleagues and friends frequently at Mele for many years.

                                                            Melè Bistro is always a delicious experience. It's my favorite go to Saturday night in Arlington. There's a cozy, intimate feeling indoors and a terrific outdoor canapied patio with a festive atmosphere. The owner and wait staff are very welcoming. The owner always says, "It's not my restaurant, it's yours!" They make you feel like old friends they've missed.

                                                            We really enjoyed this place. Menu was extensive and food was very good, but tables were a bit crowded indoors, esp. in the covid era. Good wine list. I would definitely go back, but would probably try to sit outdoors next time.

                                                            Had early dinner prior to an event. Only diners outside was nice. nice atmosphere. Waiter/servers couldn’t have been nicer. Started with buffalo mozz tomato caprese salad. was good, could have used a little more cheese but tasty. Wife had ravioli with spinach and cheese. Didn’t see or taste any cheese though. But she liked it. I had seafood fettuccine. Asked for no mussels and if chef would substitute little more of other fish as dish usually is 40% mussels. They said absolutely no problem. well didn’t come with a lot of fish. I would have ordered something else. Not enough for the price IMO. decent amount of calamari, few scallops and 3 shrimp. Didn’t have any clams which it was supposed to. Asked staff and the brought a few out. Good IPA and wine. skipped dessert. Would go back.

                                                            After working in the DC area over 38 years we finally found “our” restaurant. The wait staff and owner were considered family by the end of the evening. Everything we ordered (scallops and salmon) were excellent. Attention to detail was exceptional.
