Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.
The restaurant itself serves traditional, simple dishes that have been delicately tweaked and modified to Galetti's liking. Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, which serves light snacks and an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David Galetti, is in charge of the Front of House at Mere, using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Sandra that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

Excellent food with attentive but not over attentive service. Highly recommended!
What can I say? Absolutely stunning in every respect. Superb environment, great people with fabulous knowledge, very clever food combinations, stunning ingredients, great wine... and the dessert menu... I'm getting emotional...
We went to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary.
From the minute David Galleti open the door and arranged the lift to the dining room to when we left we had a magical experience and were made to feel special.
The service and good were impeccable and and we hope to return soon .
Evening treat during London visit. Extremely enjoyable, great service and fantastic food. Relaxed atmosphere and stylish decor. Shame we do not live closer.
Everything we expected. Lovely restaurant decor and friendly staff. The food was refined and very delicious, well recommended.
Our second time to Mere, and just as perfect. We had the tasting menu which was exquisite, matched with faultless service. A very elegant restaurant for a special occasion.
Nice simple and tasty food - particular stand out was the desserts. Very attentive service and more bread would have been a plus considering the portion sizes. Overall enjoyable meal and great staff.
A fantastic meal! Thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Service was faultless and the ambiance and decor perfect. Will definitely be returning!
This is our second visit to Mere, at dinner this time rather than lunch. After thoroughly enjoying our first visit, this second booking disappointed.
On the whole we were underwhelmed both food wise and service. We chose the tasting menu whose highlights were the pea starter and the rhubarb dessert. Intermediate courses were disappointing. The skin on the cod dish was flabby and inedible, the scallop stringy and over cooked, the lamb dish lacked any generosity even for a tasting size portion and the goats cheese overpowered all the other ingredients.
We were asked our opinion after the first pea course, which was overwhelmingly positive and also after the dessert but for all the other courses no one seemed to care and our plates were cleared without a comment, even when food was left. The same concern was lacking when we asked for and paid for the bill - no one asked if we had any comments or enjoyed the meal. So comments on here is the only way to provide feedback. Perhaps Mere is now so well established that they can become blasé.
Wonderful service and delicious food and cocktails, well worth a visit.
Have been looking forward to this dinner and it didn’t disappoint. The menu was everything & more that you would expect from a class act (Monica!) an interesting & well priced wine list - service exemplary without being unctuous and a sleek and well designed interior with tables well spaced. Noise was the only issue but a party of 8 raucous men next to our table would be a problem anywhere. The food - sweetbreads & pigeon are 2 of my favourites & I've never had them cooked/presented better
Will definitely return & recommend (in fact already have)
The whole thing experience was wonderful. We did the taster menus with wine pairing and everything tasted Fabulous.
The highlight was that Monica came around to our table to meet us all.
That was an amazing gesture and my daughter was a little star struck to say the least!
Another excellent evening with friends. The menu was all delicious. The waiting staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend Mere for a special occasion. I’ll be back!
Food was good but not amazing although my rhubarb pudding was incredible! All looked beautiful on the plate but main was barely warm and not the flavour experience I anticipated.
Felt the host on entry was abrupt when we arrived and asked where washrooms were and about coats... so wasn’t a great start to evening.
We enjoyed the evening but had better experiences at other similar places nearby
Our 2nd visit and it is still wonderful. The tasting menu was delicious with perhaps only the 'set pea custard' not quite hitting the mark but everything else was amazing. The matching wines were spot on too and afterwards I immediately bought the white port. Could do with a few more beer choices. The restaurant was pretty empty Sat lunchtime making service swift but very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, it's a shame they don't offer the 'business lunch' on a Saturday but nevertheless it was a great, none too cheap, celebration lunch.
The entire experience was wonderful. Professional, friendly, first class service amd food. The building and interior design created an unusually good ambience and enjoyment. The staff are very efficient but also took time to chat, personalizing the experience. The food was both beautiful and delicious. Perfectly sized proportions. Im visiting from the U.S. - this is my 2nd time at Mere and won't be my last!
I can now say that Mere is now on my list of top 5 restaurants, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt welcome and comfortable. The service was outstanding and the food was incredible, me and my partner both had the 6 course tasting menus and I don’t think I could put a single bad word on it. Thank you so much for having us and we will definitely be back very soon.
This is by far one of the best places to eat in London if not in the world. Our second visit was perfection and all the flavours were spectacular.
Very friendly and courteous staff, food was excellent, pricing is correct (for a change), nice touch is the complementary water with the meal which was constantly replenished, am definitely returning!!
Food really average priced like a Michelin star... won’t come back, too many other/better alternatives
Superb. Great food, wine, cocktails and service. I had a lovely birthday lunch.
Our first time at Mere and we will be back. Very impressed with the whole experience- service, food and ambiance.
Lovely birthday meal for my partner at one of our favourite restaurants. Perfect cocktails to begin with , followed by great food and service.
This was one of many visits to Mere, I am never disappointed.
The food is fresh and always well presented with great taste combinations that always work.
It is not the normal fine dining fair of excessive butter and over indulgence, I’ve always found the food crisp and clean, scallop starter tasted of the sea and actually transported me there.
Excellent is the only work for it!
What a fantastic meal and experience we had on From night from Mere. Everything was just as you cold hope for and Monica even popped out the kitchen to say hi.
Nice touch and will definitely be returning from sunny Dorset.
Great food from Monica Galetti as you would expect - desserts were beautiful and delicious.
Whilst we had a lovely evening, there were several issues with the food that left us feeling that for the money you would be better trying something else.
Another stunning meal at Mere. The food is perfection, and the service is attentive without being stuffy or overbearing. The Austrian sommelier recommended some fantastic wine, and was generally lovely, as were the rest of the staff. Can't recommend this place enough.
Excellent classic, yet innovative uses of flavours throughout the 6-course tasting menu. Matching wines to accompany were excellent, some very novel choices and wide selection. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and service exceptional.
This has become an annual lunch event as we liked it so much last year. This time we went for the taster menu with matched wines and we were not disappointed. Amazing food and wine. Staff as professional, attentive and happy as ever. Can't recommend enough.
We had the lunchtime menu which offers 2 choices for starter, main course and dessert which I think offers value - overall excellent food and attentive service.
Beautiful surroundings, faultless service, amazing food, and we got to meet Monica!
Oh my god, the food here is AMAZING! I don't know when the Michelin people are due to come around, but this will definitely get a star. So good, so attentive, so picturesque.
Overall very happy with Mere. Great staff and a fantastic ambiance. Music was brilliant too. Favourite dish was the lobster with peanut sauce. The reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the food at time was a bit bland and not bursting with flavours as one would expect. But everything else was spot on. Would definitely go back to try the tasting menu this time.
No complaints at all. Very nice decor in both the bar and restaurant. All staff friendly, courteous and enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was outstanding, up there with the best I’ve eaten anywhere.
This a fantastic restaurant, lots of light, attentive staff and the food is so delicious. I’d definitely recommend it.
A wonderful birthday lunch was spent enjoying a delicious, varied but seasonal menu.
The most delicious lobster my husband has had!
The welcome was warm and service friendly but attentive and business-like.
We can't wait to go again to try the tasting menu.
This is an increasingly rare fine dining experience. Quiet, attentive and dignified service. Every course was sublime. The food spoke for itself and the wine was very well matched by the knowledgeable Sommelier. I was not rubbing shoulders with any neighbouring diners. I was not having to raise my voice to be heard. I did not feel that my dining experience was on the clock. I was not feeling like the most important person at the table was the Chef. This is a sophisticated spot where the diner really is the priority and the fabulous food and wine sits within the whole experience, lingering with clarity in the space where ego too often dominates. Well done Monica and David.
Drink at bar on arrival: music too loud, glass of Champagne, not great wine and too small a pour. 125 ml is too small and seemed mean. Fab Negroni though. Zero ambiance in furnishings. Were expecting more Pasifika.
Dinner, 2 courses each. Asparagus and morels was fab, octopus a la plancha fab, asked for pigeon med rare, not rare, but it was near raw, couldn’t eat. Husbands cannon of lamb was good.
Our wine was poured and bottle removed. We had to ask twice for refills. Service not good enough.
We have enjoyed Monica and David’s service at Le Gavroche and were expecting more here. We Kiwis chose Mere to support them but were disappointed.
My girlfriend and I went on a corporate dinner with work but I would 100% go again on my own. The service was faultless, the wine list great and not overly expensive, we settled on a great US bottle. The food was certainly of a 1 * standard. If im being picky it’s not the most romantic of settings but everything else more than made up for it and and we had a great night!
