Came here during a large convention for lunch. Made reservations beforehand. Was seated once everyone arrived. Music was insanely loud and hard to hold a conversation during the lunch hour. Food never arrived after being there for almost 2 hours. We weren't the only table where the food didn't arrive. Server took our order and came back once to let us know our food would be out in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, food was coming out as we walked out of the restaurant. Other locations in OC are good, but would never come back to this location.

Great place if you looking for ambience, menu compare to other location is more about small bites . So if you are going for a good time is a great spot . Very loud, live banda music.

Don’t bother making reservations.. they didn’t honor our reservations .. they made us wait in a line after we got there early .. once we got to the front of the line the hostess was rude and dismissive and told us didn’t matter if you have reservations I don’t have any tables for you .. if that’s the case why even bother being on OpenTable!!!

I really wanted to love this location as much as I love the Mr Tempo in El Centro, but I just couldn’t. My husband ordered a new item on the menu, steak and shrimp, and I ordered the Korean tacos. The tacos were excellent, just like in El Centro. However the steak took over 30 minutes to arrive, was over cooked, the shrimp inedible they were so over cooked -and that menu item alone was $90.00. The service was so slow and we were one of four tables in the entire very huge restaurant. Our waters went empty and stayed there until I literally flagged down the bartender to get us more. Disappointed is an understatement. The only reason I’m leaving three stars is because my tacos were excellent. Everything else? Not sure we will be back when there are so many other options in the Gaslamp.
