Worst dining experience I have ever had. When asked to speak to the manager (the owners husband) was told he had left before 8:30 on a Saturday night. You could not pay me to ever go there again!!

Another great experience at Next! Smoked pork belly bites to start then we split the fresh watermelon, arugula, and feta salad — both awesome. I had NZ lamb chops and my spouse had the Georges Bank scallops — favorites of ours. The Grand Marnier soufflé is always outstanding. Great chef, wonderful staff, and always a great experience!

This evening, my husband and I took our son to Next to celebrate him getting his first professional job. I ordered a prickly pear margarita off the menu. They did not have the ingredients, so I wanted a Riesling instead. The waiter went to get the menu to show me the wine list and a full glass of water spilled into my son's lap. No big deal. We moved to another table. I did notice that the owner was at the bar and the manager was at a table and neither got up to check on us. We were the only guests in the restaurant at that time. Next had a Restaurant Week menu (we didn't go there for it), which listed the fish of the day as a choice for the entree. I asked the waiter what the fish of the day was. He went to go ask, he came back and told me that it was halibut. I was really pleased because that is one of my favorite fish. We ordered off the Restaurant Week menu. A few minutes later, the waiter came back and told me that Branzino was the fish on the Restaurant Week menu, not the halibut. I suppose the fish of the day is different depending on which menu that your order from. I told him that I still wanted the halibut and to charge me the full price. When our entrees arrived, my husband's branzino had a hair upon it. We called the waiter over and he took the plate away. A few minutes later he came back and asked my husband if he wanted a new piece or fish or for them to scrape the hair and the sauce off the original piece of fish. Seriously? He ordered a new piece. Then our desserts were incorrect. By this time I was beyond angry and asked for the manager. The owner came and I explained everything that occurred. He tried to blame the waiter! I told him that the waiter didn't put the hair on the fish. I asked for our check and I said that it had better be correct. He comped us the full meal, which I did appreciate. This place has lost a great deal of business due to highway work. They lost our business for poor service. Don't go.

The chef here is very good, but the rest of the restaurant needs attention. We dined on a Saturday evening, party of 4. I made reservations in advance. We arrived and were seated right next to the hostess station at the front of the restaurant. It was noisy and there was a lot of foot traffic. We asked the waiter to move and he moved us to a table in the back room in the far corner, which was much quieter but not much ambiance. We were assigned another waiter, who brought menus right away. He was obviously really swamped because it took at least 10 minutes for him to return to take our cocktail orders. He warned us that we the cocktails would take some time to fulfill, and he was right. It took another 15 -20 minutes to get cocktails. We were prepared to place our entire order as soon as the waiter returned because it became apparent that our waiter was very busy, but he dropped the cocktails off and sped away. It was almost comical, but I felt sorry that he was so overwhelmed. There should have been a floor manager helping to support the wait staff. We saw no management the entire evening. Also, while the wine list is extensive, it is very overpriced especially when weighted with the very average ambiance and uneven service. I would rather go to Perry's or Trulucks in Southlake where the service is always solid, the wine list is extensive and the ambiance is nice.

Don’t let the rather standard and contemporary signage and exterior fool you. Step inside and be transported! Wonderful menu and wine list. And wait staff anxious to assist and offer meaningful advice. Can’t make up make up your mind? Let them help - you won’t regret it. Very classy, too. We had a bad cork which the waiter saw right away. We tasted and it was not horrid but not what it should have been. No prob. They took it back straightaway for another bottle. The lamb chops were awesome. Thanks, Next Bistro!

Excellent meal selection. Wine list extensive. Back room is quieter than front on weekends. On a Monday front was acceptable sitting in a booth.

We found this restaurant while staying in Arlington, I was looking for a good wine list with specific wines. The list is one of the best I have ever seen. We dined there two nights in a row and both nights the owner Tom, engaged with us in conversation as we sat at the bar. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, I've referred the place to many friends already and look forward to going back!! Cheers Tom and team to a job WELL DONE!!!

Our food was delicious. The menu options were just varied enough and included interesting choices. The glass of wine I had was very good. We loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. My only (minor) complaint was that my water glass was not refilled. We'll go back again.

Our second dining experience here, we were again impressed by the extensive wine menu. The appetizer was not bad but not great, either. However, our entrees were to die for. Would recommend the seafood trio or lobster risotto to anyone and everyone. Our server was very attentive without being too much so, a very hard balance. Can’t wait until our next dinner!

Food was excellent but for the high prices, the service was poor. We had to ask our waiter for the specials prices twice, ask for bread plates twice, and he disappeared for long stretches of time. The food runner and water replenisher were prompt.

This restaurant is definitely a "neighborhood gem!" We had an absolutely perfect meal from start to finish and the wine selection was amazing. Although you will pay $50-100 pp for the meal (depending on your wine selection), the food absolutely warrants this price range. We will definitely be back!!

Went for our anniversary. It was good food but nothing to write home about. Crab cakes were alright. Calamari and bread were pretty good.
The cedar plank salmon was good and the chicken Parmesan was very good as well.
Didn’t much care for the chambord soufflé so they took it off the check, which was nice. Chocolate soufflé was awesome :) they do have a grand marnier soufflé also that I have heard good things about .
Overall. It was a good experience; I just don’t know that it is worth the drive for us to go back.
Service was very good and we got our food very quickly! It wasn’t too busy. We went on a weeknight. I can see how it would get loud in there on a busy night.
Everyone says it’s expensive, but I think the prices are fair.

Wasn't sure what to expect when we drove up - the building used to house a Jack-in-the-Box. Once inside we were impressed and when the food came, my wife asked if this could be our regular date place. The escargot was fabulous and the Lobster Risotto was some of the best we've ever had. Two thumbs up!!

We have eaten here many times and this by far was our least pleasant experience. The food on the Mother’s Day menu was no where near the quality we’ve come to expect from Next Bistro. Which was very disappointing considering I had brought my Mother-in-law in for the first time after raving to her about the food.

Appetizers:
The shrimp cocktail was fine but it was a basic shrimp cocktail. The crab cakes were the best of the apps. The sausage was good but barely had any sauerkraut. The lobster bisque had good flavor but had no lobster meat which I would expect in a nice lobster bisque.

Entrees:
My mother-in-law had the veal stuffed quail with risotto. She really liked the risotto, we have always liked the risotto here, but she said the quail tasted like it was stuffed with meatloaf. I didn’t take this as a compliment but I also didn’t ask a lot of questions as I was a little embarrassed at this point. My wife had the mahi-mahi and it was a grayish color instead of white and flaky and she said the seasoning was lacking. I had the beef Wellington and the bread was pretty soggy with no seasoning on the beef inside. My son had the shrimp and grits and that was the best of the entrees.

Desserts:
We all shared each one of the desserts and they were great so there was a little redemption at the end of the meal.

If this was my first time going here I probably would not go back. However, I know the usual quality of Next Bistro so I will be back but probably not for another set menu like they had on Mother’s Day.
