Nic's On Beverly
Nic’s is founded by a collective of creatives, who run L.A.’s hottest dining destinations and iconic culinary and music festivals, who set out to give Angelenos and visitors alike a great restaurant--that just happens to be plant-based.
Nic’s is an oasis from the hustle and bustle of Beverly Blvd. that provides an easy environment to work remotely. Serving up lunch items such as wood fired Detroit style pizza, a farro and quinoa bowl, and the Chinois on Beverly salad, a play on a Chinese chicken salad. In the evening, the restaurant is a perfect hideaway to converse over drinks at the bar, which features a must-try cocktail list by Jason Eisner & an exciting wine list curated by Rajat Paar.
Always the best. Food is so good and service is. Loved it all
Food was amazing. Fresh yet filling and flavorful. The service was great. Ambiance is exactly what you want for a nice dinner out.
Terrible food quality and taste and extremely overpriced.
Great food, great service, beautiful setting. Highly recommend for casual lunch or even date night.
Work success - booked a great gig
Expensive but yummy
My date and I were first enchanted by walking in through the back and seeing the beautiful lights and garden setting. It was perfect for a date. I checked in with the hostess and asked if we could sit outside. She said there was no room but I could clearly see tables that were not occupied. We were asked by the hostess, the waitress, and a waiter if we had been there before. To each of them we said no and expected someone to lead us through the menu. When no one did we finally asked. It was a bit awkward. We ordered drinks to start but they took awhile to come out even though the restaurant did not seem busy. Many empty tables inside. Not sure I would go again. I marked on my reservation that we were there for a date and was surprised that nothing was done or said to try and use that information to make the evening a little more special.
This iteration of this restaurant is the best yet. The food was very good to excellent. We can recommend everything we had from the peach/tomato burrata salad, fried rice with avocado, the falafel burger and the pizza were excellent. The server, Deanna(?), knew the items on the menu and had eaten just about every item. We really liked that she had an opinion and expressed her likes and not-so-good choices. We really respect that and want that information from a server.
Only thing that bothered us, was that about half way into our meal, a couple was seated next to us with a dog. We like dogs, leave ours at home when we go out, not fair to the dog and to the other diners. But, I don't necessarily want to spend over $100 for dinner with my spouse and eat with a dog. Seater should of asked us first if we had objections. To make matters worse, the manager came over to talk with us regarding this issue when we were seating next to the issue. Yuck. We will go back and tell the seater we prefer not to eat with pets.
Delicious food, gorgeous space... fun time!
I want to give 5 stars because the food is AMAZING, I’ve been back many times. Music selection is dope! Brought my girlfriends who are vegan bloggers and traveled the WORLD eating veggies and were blown away. Every visit the servers are rushed and a bit flustered. The host stand is in an awkward spot where you have to push past confused patrons standing in the doorway. The text I received about responding within a limited amount of time or my reservation being cancelled during the middle of the work day was incredibly rude, and when I responded I got an equally confusing and oddly defensive response.
Side note.... you can only see in the bathroom mirrors if you’re over 5’5, it’s LA we need to see if we have kale in our teeth and a full view of our vegan leather platforms would be nice too!
Prepare to share
Great portion sizes but it definitely is sharing style restaurant. The ambience is wonderful it’s definitely a great experience.
The best thing to do is ask for recommendations and let them know what you’re allergic to they do their best to be as accommodating as possible and I appreciate it
My new favourite place, the pierogies are outstanding!
My husband had the falafel burger which he loved and the fries were really good. I had the french onion soup and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate lava cake for dessert was delicious.
I do wish they had more veggies and more gluten free options as well as high protein entrees for my non vegan friends who always seem to be craving protein! Also, what does it take to get the patio seating?
My favorites are the Malbec and the Moroccan dish...also mushroom appetizers.
Service is always outstanding!
Falafel burger was phenomenal
If all plant-based meals were this good, I could convert. Except for bacon. :-) Seriously, this place is just excellent, and has the prettiest patio in town. The vegan dishes were, to a one, excellent, but the gnochetti with eggplant bolognese was a standout, as were the tempura avocado tacos. A couple of service snafus were corrected pretty quickly, and overall, the staff was quite engaging. We'll be back.
Couldn’t have been tastier. Can hardly believe it’s vegan.
Didn't even know it was a vegan restaurant and if the server hadn't told us, still wouldn't.
Place is beautiful, especially the back courtyard during day and night in it's lighting and ambiance.
Food presentation, taste was excellent and the service was phenomenal with personality.
Definitely check this place out.
We met a friend for Dinner... we’ve dined at this location through every resurrection and this certainly ranks as one of the best. The food was outrageous, inventive, beautiful and delicious.
It will be a place we dine st a lot.
Very good on every level. Maybe a little less fried foods, but all delicious
Let me stay by saying that I am a long- time vegan, so my review had nothing to do with the menu offerings. With that being said, Nic's did not meet my expectations. There are much better plant-based restaurant options in LA than this one. We were a party of five, each with a different meal option, and one dessert that we shared. Only one dish was good, and one other was palatable, and dessert was the best item on the menu. The other three dishes left a lot to be desired. I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended this to our party.
Place was pretty empty for brunch at noon. Service started out great, although the manager was annoying. I shouldn’t have to hear about table 65 and how she got them water or any of the other nonsense she felt the need to talk about while lingering near my table. Food was two note, first note being SALT and the second TAHINI. Which I like, but not in everything. Beautiful patio but way more bugs than one would hope, maybe some fans would help that. We noted that we were celebrating a birthday and the host (who was very sweet and ended up helping us a lot when the server got busy) conformed this when we arrived. Nothing happened regarding the birthday. Which is fine I guess but when the manager gives the table next to us free coffees and dessert because they were impatient about their food coming out it’s a little disappointing. Especially when that table’s phone alarm was going off for 5 minutes until I had to ask her to turn it off. So she snoozed it and it went off every 8 minutes for the rest of the meal. Not worth the money or the drive. We won’t be back. The Gratin Fries were the only exception to this lackluster experience.
Wow. This was the best meal I've had in some time now. It was all so inventive and yummy! I had a great glass of Pinot noir for $13/glass. I feel that's worth mentioning because a place like this could easily gouge you in the wine area, but they don't. The atmosphere was so cute. My friends and I couldn't take enough photos! I ate a lot of great of things, but my faves were the French onion soup and the crispy rice with avocado. Lava cake was also phenomenal. Highly recommend this place even if you're not plant based - which I'm not either!
Finally!!! A restaurant serving delicious upscale vegan food. The beautiful patio is a bonus!! Thank you Larry Nicola and staff.
Delicious food. The sauces were saucy. The flavors were dancing in my mouth. Ambience was so beautiful and with such good vibes. Service was perfect. I will definitely be a regular🥰
This was my first time at Nic's and it was amazing! I went for Sunday brunch and the ambiance and food was to die for! It isnt easy to find a restaurant that is completely plant based and the food tastes great! The service was OK just because the waitress took a while to get us water and take our orders but she made sure we were set for the rest of our time there which made up for it. Will definitely be back and already have recommended it to a few people!
Outstanding plant-based menu, creative and delicious
The food at Nic's was fantastic!! I was pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back. Everything was incredible.
Amazing!!! Loved everything that I had. My favorite was the avocado tacos and the gnocchi. The freaky diki for that tiki drink was really tasty! I want to go back and I would recommend everyone to try it!
From the moment you walk in you feel welcome. I was celebrating my birthday after hearing a new plant based restaurant opened. I had a party of 13 and only myself being vegan. My friends were amazed how delicious the food was. Highly recommend the following: goyza, tempura avocado tacos, my fav chinois salad.
The food was very slow and suddenly all arrived at once. The other tables around us order after we did and got served way before. Food was tasty. Chinois salad was amazing.
Vegan food so good, so well prepared, so well presented that most will never know (or care) that it is all plant based. An extraordinary meal, beautiful restaurant.
Lovely. Great food, wonderful service, beautiful patio
Phenomenal place. Prices a little outrageous. Otherwise perfect.
Unfortunately most of the dishes we tried were fried ... and the black bean dumplings were way too salty. The Tagine was nice though as something that was more healthy than not.
All their dishes look and taste like works of art!!
I will continue to go back to Nic's as it is one of the best vegan plant based restaurants in LA. Try everything because it is all amazing!!!
The food was amazing! Our waitress was so nice but she was busy and the service didn't go as smoothly as we would have liked. That being said, we know the restaurant is relatively new so we'll be back for more of the delicious food! Best vegan meal I've had.
