nopa - San Francisco
Chef Alejandro is the best!!! The food was great and the service. Nopa is the best!!!
Absolutely delicious. One of the few places in the city that offer macerated wine and they didn't let me down. The chicory salad was Divine and our roasted chicken was perfect. Thanks for helping to make date night so amazing...
Restaurant is a San Francisco institution but the food last night was a bit uninspired. Previous visits were better but dessert is always great. Meats were slightly overcooked.
Nope is always consistent. Fantastic food, daily menu, local produce. Service is very friendly and the drinks are amazing. I think unfortunately it is still very pricey and sometimes could be a strong argument not to go as often!
Disappointing. Overall food was average except the chicken which was very dry. Dry enough that I didn’t eat it. Service was poor and unattentive. Had to track down server on multiple occasions. Our dining experience took 2.5 hrs when all we ordered was apps and main course. It took over 10 mins for us to flag (anyone) down for our check. I wouldn’t recommend — hopefully your experience has been or will be different.
Fun restaurant - very lively "scene". went for brunch
Service was adequate - took 3 trips to bring cream for my coffee.
Food was also just adequate - coffee is bitter and gross (even after cream!).
I got special "ribs and waffles" and thought ribs were too smoked and too salty.
Sausage dish was good.
really good late night dining
The pappadelle is the way to go, but everything is amazing.
Food was pretty solid, but gap between appetizers and entrees was at least 45 minutes. It's like the food for the either balcony section was forgotten and then all came out at once. Once delivered the food was good, but this gap really detracted from the overall experience.
Everything was perfect. The atmosphere inside the store was very lively and powerful!
Incredibly impressed. The food was spectacular. When the bill came we were surprised that for $150 we had two cocktails, two glasses of wine, two appetizers, one pasta dish, a dessert and a coffee drink! Service was great too. But the food really was amazing. Can't wait to go back now that I know what all the fuss is about.
Amazing vegetable tangine! Will try to make it at home
A little on the noisy side at the bar but seems better at the table, allowing to have conversations.
This was by far the best food we ate in San Francisco. The service was exceptional. It took a little long for the food to come out but it was so beautiful and delicious that it didn't even matter. We went at 1:30p. My husband had custard French toast and i had pork belly with waffles. To start the meal we shared house grilled levain. Every single bite of every single dish was the best ever. Definitely a not to miss spot!
Great experience, really interesting menu, fun cocktail list and really slick service. We will definitely be back
Not only normal food but it was a well-balanced combination of dish which seems to be rotating monthly so you can expect a different dish based on season. Good list of beverages too both alc and non-alc. Staff was very attentive and helpful. Would recommend a group of friends rather than a couple as the space between tables were limited.
Really great food, but the standout was the service. Our server guided us to a great bottle of interesting wine that was new to us, then helped talk us through the menu to order what would go best with the wine we were drinking. His guidance, plus our input, led to an exceptional meal.
Wonderful staff who took it to an extra level to celebrate a birthday and an engagement. Thank you.
NOPA is and always will be my favorite restaurant in the city. From the food, service and drinks, it’s great all around. Unfortunately, this last time wasn’t as great. We came in for a late Sunday dinner, my girlfriend and I were entertaining some guests from outta town. We talked very highly of this place to them. They were impressed by the food ... but the service was not up to par with what my girl and I are used to. Our server never introduced herself, and when asked about details of some dishes, her response was very dry and deleivered in manner which made her seemed annoyed with us. Now my girlfriend and I have a lot of experience in the industry, so we gave her the benefit of a doubt ... maybe she was in the weeds, or just having a bad day. But she only touched our table 3 times during service. I’m fact, we had been visited by 5 other staff members with food and water refills, before she even could. Also she walked past our table several times and didn’t check in it or clear the table of finished dishes. She didn’t even close us out. We love NOPA and we know that this is just an isolated incident so it’s no biggie, but her steps of service and just overall energy that night was definitely off.
Our daughter rarely gets back to SF, so it was special to us. We wanted to eat before the Super Bowl. This fit the bill. The food was quite good and the staff was very accommodating. It was just a little noisy for us, although she didn’t mind.
Great late night dinner after our teenager got out of a concert... starving! Had fantastic drinks, burgers and pasta! Server was great! Thanks for being open so late! Thanks to the kitchen staff!
Overall a good experience. We had to wait 12 minutes past our reservation time to be seated and then it took a bit before we had water but, other than that, it was all good. The server let us taste two wines so we could decide on the one we preferred. They do not use canola oil so I was able to have the fries which were good. (Canola oil makes me ill.) The burger was delicious!
We had to get in and get out quickly for a theatre performance and the waiter couldn’t have been better at accommodating that request. The hostess wasn’t as accommodating, sitting a walk-in before us but otherwise, a good experience
Great service, great food.
Good people good food
Loved everything about this place! The service was great! The staff all worked well together and were very gracious. The food was fantastic! We had the marinated olives, goat cheese spread, pappardelle, fish stew and beignets. The pasta in the pappardelle was outstanding. The cod in the fish stew was delicious! Prices were very reasonable. It was a little noisy, but we got used to it.
Every dish ordered was amazing, the pork chop was exceptional in particular. The waiter recommended a wine which was incredible. The dessert we ordered had to be gluten free and was not fantastic, but i'm sure their glutenous desserts are stronger!
I always expect the best of service and food quality here, and a friendly neighborhood buzz. This time I went with a friend that took a rough fall a couple weeks earlier, and needed a lot of help. The waitstaff and everyone was so kind and accommodating! We both really appreciated it, along with our delicious meal. NOPA will always be a favorite!
The service was about as poor as I have ever had. In any city in the USA . The server all but forgot about us. When she decided to remember us, her attitude was flippant or perhaps spacey, either one was unacceptable.
Sadly, our feed took 70 minutes to come out and one dish was cold. It wasn’t the usual experience.
Great staff interesting menu unique flavors
Amazing brunch as usual. Food is always outstanding and the energy is great.
Had dinner with my son visiting from so cal.
Nopa is outstanding: great food, personable/knowledgeable servers, & terrific space add up to a GREAT dining experience. Thank You, Fern, Max, Laurence, Jeff, et al!!!
The restaurant is one of the best we've experienced. I would suggest that diners leave extra time to get there because parking is really hard.
My wife and I love this place, possibly one of our favorites for breakfast. Try the French toast and pretty much any other dish they offer.
Best place in the city
Had a great experience
