North Italia - Plano
Great for a little family renion
The main waiter was great and so was the food . The runners were disorganized keep presenting plates that was not for our table
Wrong time also between the appetizers and the main course arrived within 5 minutes...
Service great, food ok, had the bacon & egg pizza. Egg was almost raw, rest of the pizza was just ok, doubt I’ll return. Too many better places out there.
Food was excellent, and service was outstanding—Brandon Reed is fantastic!
First time to eat at this location. Great service from our waiter Brandon. He made an ordinary Monday dinner an exceptional experience.
Best Italian restaurant in the area. Special on bottles of wine on Sunday night.
Amazing food and service. When our food arrived it was a bit cold but it was quickly taken care of by the manager and our bill discounted.
Food is good nothing execeptional and portions are small for the price.
We went for a late dinner on a Saturday night. Our server, Jennifer, was wonderful. She was friendly and attentive, knew the menu well and made great suggestions, and was very accommodating to our needs. Our glasses were kept full, (of Pellegrino), we were checked on after each course, and her and the other servers kept the food coming out with a nice presentation and prompt removal of dirty plates.
The music was perfect for the evening ambiance as well.
As for the food, it was very good. We had the braised beef short ribs, which were very tender and flavorful, the scallops, nicely seared and tasty, and a chicken and pasta dish which was good, but a bit too garlicky for our liking.
We finished with the hazelnut dessert - gooey and yummy.
Overall it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend North Italia for dinner.
Delicious meal and excellent service.
Everything was good; the Kale salad was very good so we ordered 2 Kale salads to go but the portions were less than half the size from the portions we were served in the restaurant. Very disappointing and we felt ripped off!!!
Wonderful food and wonderful service. My first time for brunch but it was amazing!
We were able to have a leisurely lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. Even though the restaurant was busy, they didn't rush us, gave us time to enjoy our wine, offered half salads to go with our pizza. Delish. We had a lovely time; would definitely go back.
Always love this restaurant. Modern Italian excellent food.
Efficient and friendly staff. Great for a date, by yourself, or after work (or for lunch).
One of the best Italian restaurants outside of Italy.
Server was knowledgeable and attentive. Menu could probably be expanded a bit.
Brandon was our server and was outstanding! Food was delicious!
Love this restaurant. I was sorry to hear they did not check me in (reservation in my name for 5) and had to send my receipt in to Open Table to prove I did not skip out on the reservation.
Loved that they had zucchini noodles so I could stay low carb. Food was great. Patio on a warm winter night was great.
Fantastic Food. Best Chicken Parmesan ever. Fast Service, and friendly, energetic atmosphere. Would highly recommend for both couples and families.
North Italia is always great! Food is evcellent. Great Happy Hour too.
Out waitress was very seeet but had absolutely no knowledge of wines. The last time we dined at North in Plano our server was very knowledgeable of the menus and what wines paired well with our meal. We ordered 2 Pinot Grigio and 1 Sauvignon Blanc and she served us Riesling. I totally get mistakes happen and she was very kind and apologetic I just feel she might have been new and maybe needs a little more training. The food was fantastic!
Overall food was excellent but our service experience was not. We waited 20 min even with a reservation and the time between appetizers and main course was also too long... our waiter seemed too busy to attend to us, other than when we waved him over... he was nice and knowledgeable but maybe too many tables to spend the appropriate amount of time per.
Too bad because it left us disappointed considering the number of great restaurants in the DFW metroplex, we hoped this one would be excellent overall as well.
I’d like to say we will go back, but with the so-so dining experience likely not.
Anniversary- however waitress failed to acknowledge the occasion or bring a complimentary dessert.
The grilled branzino was incredible! A bit noisy in the place, but the food was well worth it.
It was fantastic. Best chicken Parmesan ever. And can’t stop thinking about the truffle garlic bread.
Best Italian food, hands down
It’s the best Italian place in DFW I know
Annual New Year Day Brunch!
We made reservations for North Italia's NYE fixed menu. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly; but everything else went downhill from there.
It was 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken, 45 minutes had passed before even a plate of bread showed up to our table. The server, after 45 minutes, informed us that the kitchen ran out of sea bass and only gave us the option for salmon which they proceeded to charge for the full amount. Last but not least, the dessert options were abysmal. We were celebrating my father's 65th birthday which was noted on the reservation, and yet- it turned out to be one of the worst NYE dining experiences we have had. I've worked in the service industry for over 15 years and was surprised at North Italia placing such an inexperienced server on such a prominent holiday. Food was rated fair as the braised meat was the only saving grace for the night.
We've dined with the North Italia location in Houston and had told my father of how wonderful it is since his favorite cuisine is Italian. I'd go as far as to say this location is not recommended. Please save yourself the trip and head over to Taverna down the street. Top-notch service, wine, and food!
Outstanding service , delicious food and a great place to people watch . I enjoyed my New Year’s Eve dinner here ( the menu was understandably pre set ) and look forward to trying more off the menu when it’s not terribly busy.
The food was amazing and we both really enjoyed our New Years experience
Everything was simply outstanding! Great service, exceptional food and presentation, terrific menu, excellent wine. Plenty of staff on hand as well as manager presence. Have been here many times, but they were above and beyond for NYE!! Many thanks for a perfect evening...
Always fabulous! Our waitress was so knowledgeable in suggesting items. She was also so friendly.
Second time to eat at North Italia. Excellent both times. Excellent service by Stephen. The servers seem happier than most restaurants. Must have good management.
Wonderful experience! From the amazing appetizers (seafood soup and Arancini), fabulous entrees (short ribs, scallops, and sea bass), tantalizing desserts (chocolate torte), and awesome service from Mikala..it was a memorable meal....thanks so much as we’ve been looking for an Italian restaurant like this for years in North Texas!
Bravo to the team!
Very nice atmosphere and staff was very accomodating.
We had an absolutely wonderful evening with a great selection of drinks and menu options. The sea bass and bolognese were delicious. The ambiance and noise level helped us to have delightful conversation and a lovely meal.
I’ve been to NI dozens of times & I love it!! But, my experience on NYE was just the worst ... so much so, we left without drinking or eating. We just wanted to have a nice meal for a late lunch on NYE ... the place wasn’t even full. We sat at our table for 30 mins & never got our drinks. We complained to 2 ppl and nobody cared ... so we left ... ugh.☹️.
Can never seat you on time even with a reservation. Always an excuse as to why they seat you 10-20 minutes late every time. Annoying
