Okra Hong-Kong is composed of 2 floors. The Kitchen, a casual Izakaya, focusing on artisanal products made in house and craft sake. And the Bar, upstairs, where we serve a sushi Omakase only. The food and environments are different and we do not kriss kross.
Okra Kitchen is a very casual izakaya in the Sai Ying Pun neighborhood of Hong Kong specializing in natural, unpasteurized sakes, flavorful, charcoal grilled small plates and sashimi because that's what we drink and eat. All of our ingredients are natural and produced exclusively for us or come from producers that we know and trust, because that's the way that we eat. We are an extension of Okra 1949 in Beijing, China.
Booking and walk-ins are welcome any time. We offer A La Carte menu for dinner and a set lunch during lunch hour.

Our food menu is comprised of the best ingredients we can find, cooked with simple Japanese technique. Whenever possible, whole fish and entire animals are acquired and served. Offal is the best for your soul. We do not serve any Japanese themed dishes. All of our sakes and beverages are chosen because they go well with the strong flavors of our food and for no other reason. All of our menu items are signature and all are not. <br /><br />Unfortunately due to our small size, serious seafood or shellfish allergies cannot be accommodated. Went there on a whim and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Noisy but that's what you expect from an izakaya style restaurant. Really enjoyed it and will be back again to try the other food in the menu.

The music was a bit loud, otherwise, everything was quite good. If somehow the website can make it more explicit that the sushi restaurant is a separate establishment that will be even better.

It’s been my bucket lists for a long time and I’m finally here! Nice service and great food! Although the food selection wasn’t a lot, still worth trying tho! Would love to come back again! Special recommendation goes to the sweet potato toast with fried chicken

Arrived on time for our 10PM reservation. Were told our seats were not available & likely would not become available that evening. Senior staff was not at all apologetic or courteous to us about this, as if they regularly do not honor reservations. In effect, they gave our seats to late-stayers or walk-ins & held our reservation as an insurance policy in case seats came open later in the evening. This was reprehensible treatment, particularly as Hong Kong is not a late-night town for quality dining & we were left to struggle to find a proper meal. Avoiding this kind of nonsense is why we rely on OpenTable & you should strongly consider removing this restaurant from your platform.

It was OK but not the best place. It lacks personality the place, some plates lacked taste and character! Music did not let us enjoy dinner and the seats were not comfortable. The service was good and friendly.
