Fabulous service! Food was good but there was a mismatch at times in the dishes. Corn soup was good but the random bits of corn in the crab seemed forced, steak was good but bean puree was heavy. Needs some work given the price point I would say.

From the Samoan crab cold corn soup and the next 2 dishes after was just too much salt and chili. We had to drink so much water. My father’s steak had so much gristle he wasn’t happy about it at all. The gnocchi was lumpy and undercooked. Gnocchi means pillow. They were not pillows at all. We felt there lack of cohesion to all the dishes. The lamb look funn the middle part of the noodle was hard and raw so it was not edible. I came here before with my friend to celebrate her master’s degree. That dinner was definitely 5 stars. This dinner however was 0 stars very disappointing.

The cornbread was ok and so was the citrus cured kampachi. The best dish was the pork, foie gras & black bean agnolotti. However, the Thai curry stew was disappointing. I couldn't finish it. The vanilla custard Japanese sweet bread French toast was very good.

I didn't expect too much at any of Oahu restaurants at this point. I know most restaurants on Oahu has bad services compared to my home country, Japan. I mean it's terrible here, in Hawaii. So, I didn't expect too much at this restaurant as well. As long as they get my reservation and give us a menu, water & correct order in decent time, I would be okay. However, their service was beyond my expectation! All people at the floor (Chris, Matt & sorry we didn't get our female server's name) gave us excellent service. Food was good too. The service of any restaurant is equally important with the food for me. (might be more important for me) I already recommended this restaurants to a couple of my Japanese friends who live on the island. I was so glad that my hubby chose this restaurant to celebrate his birthday!! He was also really happy with the service & food. (and his wife didn't need to grumble about the service as she usually does! lol)

We had such a great experience at Pai. We ordered the Chef’s tasting menu and wine pairings and it was beyond worth it. One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Everything is prepared in-house and we loved that they focused on Hawaii flavors and ingredients. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Plus the restaurant is owned by the chef and we love to support local small businesses like this gem of a place.

Chef Lee's team led us on a memorable journey through their Mother's Day 8-course chef's tasting menu. Each course was incredible individually but felt complementary as we went from one course to the next. The wine pairings were also spot on and enhanced each dish. The staff were also very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly.

Celebrated a good friend visiting from SF. We had the tasting menu and wine pairings and everything was just perfect. The service and knowledge of the staff was incredible. If you are celebrating something, have visitors from out of town or just want a nice night out, I highly recommend PAI! The restaurant is beautiful and it really is the best restaurant in Honolulu.

The ambiance was amazing, servers were friendly and very accomodating (special shout out to Nelson the sommelier, who was looking out for us the entire evening and gave great recommendations). The food was really special and you can tell it was made with passion, congratulations to Chef Lee, if we visit again, this would be one of our stops! We do suggest making a reservation inside though (specifically the bar) the outside can be noisy due to the passing cars 10/10

We have been going to PAI since the day it opened. We also have been to many of their wine tasting dinners and special event dinners. Last nights was by far PAI’s best creation. “ From City to City: A night of Food, Wine and Hip Hop”. How do you pair food and wine to that theme. Kevin and his amazing team succeeded on the highest level. It was not just a fun, relaxing evening, the food was incredible. Service was flawless and each wine married each dish perfectly.

We just had our son's first birthday in their "outdoor" area and it was perfect. It was covered (we didn't have to worry about the weather) and having the whole space for our party allowed us to enjoy and not worry about how much noise the kids were making. We worked with Chef to create a special menu for our guests and the food was so good! He even made some special items for the kids. The service was outstanding as well - anytime we needed anything, they were happy to help. They also helped us set up and clean up afterwards. We could not have asked for a better experience.

The presentation and the flavors of the food was outstanding. The sommelier made some excellent wine choice and pairing. All wait staff were attentive and courteous. Only slight let down is the location/ venue. There is no view and restaurant is located in a external foyer type area. This was a let down as the food, wine and wait staff was fantastic.

Dinner at Pai was fantastic. The four of us ordered the pre fixe menu and one wine pairing, martinis and the Lilikoi Agua Fresca. The dinner flavor combinations were so original. From the honey-miso butter, melt in your mouth Ginger Steamed Snapper, to the Japanese French toast every bite was memorable. They even included a couple of our favorite previous dishes. My daughter especially appreciated how delishishly they accommodated her food allergies. The attentiveness and consideration of the the whole staff really sets this place apart!

Had my friend’s 32nd birthday party in the completely covered “outdoor” area, which is really nice because we had open air, but without the worry of the weather. The food, service and drinks were absolutely amazing! Chef prepared a special menu for us to enjoy and everything was delicious! Highly recommend planning your next special occasion or even a nice date night out.
