Unfortunately the server whiffed on everything except the free cake (to make up for getting dishes wrong, forgetting drinks, arguing about minor substitutions..) terribly overpriced. Scallops were bland w/ very little food on the plate. That sort of presentation only makes sense when the preparation is transcendent, otherwise it’s just a rip-off. Basically felt stressed the whole meal because the server was so weird.

We came to celebrate my cousins birthday. There were 3 of us and we were completely overtaken by several large groups. I like a lively restaurant, here the noise was so that we could barely hear ourselves talk. It took more than 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge that we had been seated and another 10 to get our waiter to take our drink order. To me it wasn’t the waiters fault. Why would you put us in the same station as one waiter responsible for us and two other large parties (one was more than 10 people). Needless to say the attention we received was poor, the food was good, I would have expected great. It would have been nice to have seen a dessert menu. At least we got a slice of cake to say Happy Birthday.

Really good food, but unpredictable portion sizes. We went for brunch, and while everything tasted really good, the starters ranged in size size from a half deviled egg (as a serving) to "fritters" that were the size of a tennis ball and came in a set of 5. The mains were similarly variable in quantity.

But size aside, the menu itself was thoughtfully put together, the food was beautifully presented and the taste was excellent. Service was great too!

It was absolutely delicious!! Davis was our server and was amazing. We had a GREAT time and look forward to going back. The Poulet Noir is by far the star of the menu.

We've been coming here for years. We keep saying we will try some place else, but always end up here. The food, the service--just amazing. My last meal will be PT fries and deviled eggs. Washed down by a Country Lawyer. Or two.

I haven't been to Park Tavern for about 4 years, even though it's in my neighborhood. I arrived on time but was asked to wait on the very uncomfortable bench for just a couple of minutes. The couple of minutes turned into 25 minutes as other people came in and were seated. I don't feel it was an issue of waiting for my date.

My date and I asked to order a couple of items and then see what we wanted shortly. We were informed by the waiter that "oh the chef likes to have everything ordered at once." So we had a much smaller order than we anticipated.

The noice is off the charts.

I really do want to like the place since it's beautiful and close by but I haven't had a good experience to date. I can't recommend.

Food is ok, but very salty. Good service. Music is too loud and this makes it very hard to hear any conversation.

Above all, the food was bad. My husband's smoked corned beef hash had an almost raw fried egg on it, and he said the whole thing was terribly salty and greasy. He also said it had way too much potatoes. My "Marlowe" burger was also terrible. The bun was not grilled, so it was cold, in it the meat patty, which I requested to be medium rare, was gray in appearance and totally undercooked. In fact, it didn't look or taste like it was grilled on a sizzling hot surface at all. The meat was tasteless and had an icky texture like thawed ground beef. Even my bloody Mary was awful, it was too salty and had a funny taste to it. No, I didn't, couldn't, finish my drink nor hamburger.

We celebrated our buddy’s birthday with 12pm brunch for four at Park Tavern last weekend. The experience was largely forgettable. Which was the approach the waitstaff took with our table also. We asked for no bacon on our burgers. They brought them with no buns. We asked for ketchup for our fries. And had to chase down a busboy when ten min later we were still without it. (And now saddled with cold fries...) We wanted to enjoy more cocktails but we had to flag down a different waiter to just get water refilled. The salads were over-dressed. The burger ridiculously small at $18. (Maybe a 4oz patty?) The pour on the wine stingy. One thing we won’t forget is to cross this disappointment off our list. You should do the same.

The hostess was gracious as we were walking and had to move our reservation 30 min. We were greeting warmly and immediately seated. The waitress recommended a great dish that we both enjoyed. We had a leisurely morning and did not feel pushed to leave. All in all an excellent experience. Will visit again.

As neighbors, we frequent the restaurant a lot when we are in town. The only thing I would say is that it was kind of loud on Saturday night. I had to ask for the music to be turned down. Otherwise it's great.

Haven’t been in a while. Food used to be amazing but several of our dishes were disappointing. They seemed to be in love with lemon. The tartar, and the cauliflower were so sour they were difficult to eat. The famed poultry was tiny and try. Marlowe burger was still quite good.

We hadn't been in a while and were extremely pleasantly surprised! We had forgotten how delicious the food is (who knew that a salad with Green Goddess dressing could be so good). Also the Marlowe Burger is always amazing. They also have beautiful artisan cocktails and a great wine list. Lastly the Service was wonderful and the venue is lovely and warm! Keep up the good work and we look forward to visiting again soon.

I thought the food was very oily and average but My nephew loved the chicken. Nice ambiance. But I won’t be back anytime soon. Park tavern has lost its way.

Lively but refined atmosphere. Menu is limited but offers all the needed brunch faves (pastry, pancakes, egg dishes, fruit eyc). Fresh fruit with shaved coconut was delicious as were salmon toasts. Great freshly squeezed oj ( of course). Good coffee, friendly efficient wait staff. All around great brunch!

The food was great! My girlfriend and I went on a Wednesday night before a comedy show, and we got:

Deviled Eggs - fantastic

PT Fries with soft boiled egg and caviar - very good, but confusing presentation. Egg and caviar are served on the side and it's not obvious if they are meant to be eaten with the fries, or separately. Still delicious.

Marlowe Burger - A classic, delicious and perfectly cooked

Spinach Mushroom Papardelle - This was phenomenal! The pasta was delicate, the sauce was tangy and rich at the same time, and the mushrooms were cooked perfectly.

All of that said, the service was really poor. Our server was a rude, short with us, and snarky. We have quite a bit of finer dining experience, and are very nice and courteous patrons, and were not doing anything to deserve the terse tone and the frustrated facial expressions we got. He was also slow to take our order, rude when delivering the food, and when we finished, he took our plates and then let us sit for nearly 15 minutes with empty drink glasses and no food in front of us before he even offered us the option of a desert menu or check. We were nearly late to our show, and had to ask a different server for our check, because ours kept walking by our empty table without stopping to address us.

Given how excellent the rest of the experience was and could have been, it was really a shame the service was so poor. I imagine he was just having a bad day, or we got the least friendly server on the staff, but still a bit disappointing.

Would recommend, but with the caveat that you shouldn't go here on a super special occasion or when you are in a rush. Great place for after work food and drinks but maybe not for a special date.

For the price points, I’ve had better. $19 for waygyu steak tartare (wayfare is better), $38 for the poulet noir which was just a smalll roast chicken or Cornish hen. I thought it was overbrined and the stuffing was just cut up bread (they could have done a lot more here). The $32 pork chop was good, came out medium rare even though I asked for medium - but the flavors were good.

We like the atmosphere and we like to sit at the bar for a cocktail and meal - the staff is professional and the service is good. It is a good restaurant to enjoy at any time of day - but especially after a full day walking around North Beach

This place is an institution in SF, but it's seen better days. The burger patty was tiny and well done. The chocolate tarte was extremely dry. The waitstaff didn't get our orders right. I would recommend skipping Park Tavern and going to Marlowe (their newer restaurant) instead.

Our appetizers came quite quickly and were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of our entrees. It would have been nice to have more Virgin Cocktails available. The dessert was definitely not enticing. Would go back but NOT for dessert.
