Newly renovated restaurant with a charming New England ambiance. Mark, a Navy Veteran, has a passion for great food and customer hospitality. For a taste of Italy, try one of Mark's dishes inspired by his Italian upbringing. Mark is a native of Greenwich, CT and Karen grew up on the beaches of FL.
Highly recommend excellent food and service worth a trip if not close by
Lovely setting captures old Florida feel even though just off busy thoroughfare...brunch with white tablecloths and covered outdoor porch adds to ambiance...food is tasty altho not inexpensive...great service...several of our guests found chairs uncomfortable....too small with stiff upright backs.
waiter very attentive- owner cane out to chat- food, service outstanding.
a luttle loud. quiets down by 8;30
We were expecting a cafe... What we got was a fine dining experience. Our waiter was one the most professional we have EVER had.the atmosphere was nice, andvit was not good. Extensive menu, everything prepared quite well.the chefvis a character, I can tell. He greets all his guest with sincerity. We will absolutely be back.
Another wonderful evening at the Pelican. Mark (the co-owner) is ever present and welcomes every customer as an old friend...as indeed many are. The food and service are consistently excellent. Can't wait to go again....
Went for brunch several weeks ago.Decided to try for dinner,Excellent.
Mark the owner/chef is wonderful.
Outstanding everything!!! Service, Food, Atmosphere, and live music by Pan & Dave. Highly recommended place for a top shelf dinner. Took my wife here for her birthday. It was our 2nd time and we were delighted. We are coming back to try brunch next!
Overall good..........friendly, great food, causual.......
You can’t go wrong with this place! Everything is perfect!
The service here is phenomenal, waiters and bus staff are on top of everything. The owners are very involved and also looking after things. Food is delicious, hot, and consistently good. Chicken Franchise and Shrimp Sachette's were well seasoned and cooked perfectly tonight. A wonderful meal.
I've been to Pelican Cafe before, but it was off season. Restaurant was very crowded, maybe even over crowded. Felt like out table for 2 was added to a room to get 2 more people in and the room was already at capacity. While our meal came out timely, the tables surrounding us all waited 1-2 hours for their food. Hearing them complaining all evening was not fun. When the owner did come by, I never even heard him apologize - A simple "I'm so sorry" would have gone a long way. Instead he told them his food was the best! He did bring some appetizer over and offered to comp them for dessert, but again he never apologized.
For a restaurant on the pricey side, I expect better, I expect to not be shoved into a table that didn't belong in a room. Food was very good and I will go back, but not during season and not on a Sat. night.
This restaurant is usually great, however, the evening we were there it was an off night for the kitchen. That said our server was terrific in trying to accommodate us, and the food when it arrived, was delicious. We will be back, and even though things did not go well, we managed to enjoy ourselves with our friends.
Got there at 7:15. At nine fifteen we started complaining since the dinner wasn’t served yet. Took
Two hours and fifteen minutes to get our dinner!!!
Pelican Cafe is always a terrific place to eat. Tonight the soup special was a Lobster Bisque. Possibly the best rendition of the soup I ever had.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a very nice food experience.
Love the intimacy of this place. Relaxed but elegant dining Owner Mark checks on his diners personally Doesn’t get much better!!
This was our second visit and hadn’t been in a couple of years, the food didn’t disappoint. We took some friends who had never been and were very pleased with our choice for the evening. We all had something different on the menu and everyone thought their meal was delicious. The only complaint I would have is that our waiter was a little off that night, brought a warm bought of Chardonnay we had to send back, brought a side of mashed potatoes instead of pasta and spaghetti instead of linguini. Because the rest of our meal was so delicious and we were having such a delightful time, the only thing that we sent back was the warm bottle of wine.
Excellent and wonderful service
This was our second trip to Pelican Cafe and it was as good as the first. Our waiter and the serving staff were excellent and the food was delicious! As he did on our first visit, Mark the owner stopped by to check on our table. It is evident he puts a great deal of effort into making the Pelican Cafe a wonderful restaurant and we will be back!
What a great meal we enjoyed at our first visit to this restaurant. I had the sea bass and my wife had crab cakes. The food was delicious, hot, and served promptly. Our salads and desserts were also excellent. This restaurant is a gem in North Palm Beach. We will definitely be back!
The food was good but not great for the price. It was busy for dinner so people must enjoy eating there. Outside patio was nicely lit up. The waiter seemed to be trying to get people to spend more. The other waitstaff were working very hard and were super nice. Probably would go back but for lunch.
Have been there several times, always great service and food.
Continue to disappoint with their service and seating.
The service and food was excellent . However the noise level in the smaller room we sat in was way to loud making the dining experience unpleasant. We asked the server to sit elsewhere or have the group yelling to stop but it didn’t happen. We brought guests there who never ate there before and said they’d never go back. I would go back but ask for the larger room or patio seating.
Incredible service! Fantastic food! Very attentive wait staff! Would definitely return!
Wonderful dinner. Wes provides an outstanding service which adds so much to the dining enjoyment.
Very nice Italian cafe. We were greeted warmly, service was efficient and friendly, and the food was very good. Of the three of us dining, two selected from the specials offered - veal cheeks and Chilean sea bass. The third ordered from the regular dinner menu. Everything was very well prepared, quality was great, and portions were large (too big for us, but I know some judge a restaurant by the portions, ever hungry I guess). We would definitely return, and in fact have already given this was our second visit.
It was Christmas Eve and we were out to dinner with friends. The place was lovely, the food was good and the staff friendly..
A very weak avocado toast...the manager apologized and took it off our bill but was just disappointed in our christmas brunch...food had always been excellent in the past..
Keep going back for delicious blueberry and chocolate donuts and everything else in menu
Great! Service is wonderful, employees very friendly. Food is excellent. Atmosphere very warm
We waited almost an hour and a half between the appetizer in main course .
It’s a pretty place and the food is good but the service really sucks .
It’s also extremely expensive there’s no value here .
Wonderful service. Great food prepared fresh.
Staff are exceptional.
I have had a good experience at Pelican Cafe. This one wasn’t. We were a bit pressed for time, and the food took over 40 minutes to be delivered. My daughters waffle was cold, but it was too late to do anything about it. Especially disappointing because it was not particularly crowded.
This reliable gem never fails to deliver interesting, delectable food, with a neighborhood ambience, and attentive service.
Sat outside for breakfast. First thing put on the table, four different kinds of homemade doughnuts, one for each of us. All delicious and, of course, we all tasted each one.
Then delicious omelets, with potatoes, fruit or grits, I had the grits. Coffee, good friends and time to enjoy the Florida weather and chat. A wonderful way to start the day!
Excellent dinner. Salmon was superb
Something crashed and broke behind the bar, sounded like an entire tray of glasses. Then workmen showed up with tools and started a noisy repair.
Waitress ordered a slice of chocolate cake for our birthday guest, but bus boy misunderstood and brought a pancake complete with a little pitcher of syrup. The waitress seemed annoyed with that error and after a while a piece of cake did make it to the table. Had this been a business luncheon, I would have been embarrassed by the unprofessional atmosphere and service. Food was good and our waitress was knowledgeable and pleasant, but she couldn't control the entire situation by herself. Not sure I will come back unless I can get the quieter room on the south side.
