Pinefish is a Washington Square neighborhood restaurant serving up innovative small plates and good vibrations. The boho-chic interior sets the mood for a unique dining experience that takes you back to the 70’s. Peter Dissin’s exceptional palate and modern vision are the inspiration behind the exceptional wine list, divine sauces and small plate selections at Pinefish.
Every day, including weekends, the Happy Hour at Pinefish is a local favorite for dollar oysters, clams, and steamed shrimp. In addition to the dollar specials, you will love the $4 & $5 small plate offerings paired with $5 wines, $5 martinis, mojitos and craft beers. Happy Hour daily 4:30 - 6:30.
Very tasty food, lots of fresh ingredients. Service was great, very friendly and attentive. Looking forward to returning!
Literally waited an hour for the waitress to take our drink order took longer to get water never heard about all the specials. The restaurant itself is lovely and the food was quite tasty but the two hour ordeal put a real damper on the evening
It was a great find for just moving to the city. The food was delicious. My son ate like a king. I would highly recommend checking it out. We will be back very soon. The service was top notch and we had the best waitress. I think her name was Maura. Don’t miss this place. A++++++++
Great service, great food!
Went for happy hour. Amazing seafood! Will go back!
Delightful brunch with a wonderful niece ! Perfect
Great service from the host and server
Well prepared food. Emily our server was super. My wife had the grilled salmon and I had the catch of the day, swordfish. Both were steaming hit and cooked well. We started with a chopped salad which was a little short on toppings when compared to the greens. Don't miss happy Hour. Good value.
We were seated promptly. Serviced was attentive & friendly. Will return soon!
Happy hour wine was fine and we thought the short pour resulted from the liw price ($5), but the wine off the regular menu later in the meal was just as small and $13. That's a bad joke. Octopus and scallops both very good. The seared tuna with fois gras was so so. Waitress was distracted. Philly has scores of better restaurants.
Food was amazing ! People were awesome!
I think we dressed up a little too much but the food was amazing. Fresh and very good service.
Great seafood restaurant which we really do not have enough of in Philly. We went during lobster fest and the lobster tails were delicious. The lobster bisque was amazing with a very good amount of lobster meat in it. We also had the scallops appetizer which was delicious but just a little too small for the price.
We were just disappointed with our server. She took a long time to come to the table and she seemed so uninterested in being at work. She really needed to learn how to smile once or twice.
Delightful little place! We sat at the bar, so the noise level was expected to be a bit higher. Leslie tended bar--entertaining! The seafood was fantastic. We had happy hour oysters and shrimp, followed by crab legs and lobster feast. We were stuffed and happy. Price was quite reasonable.
Deee-lish! Brunch was super yummy. $5 full size Bloody Marys and colorful eclectic decor. 10/10 will come back!
Pinefish is one of those random little Philadelphia gems. On any Wednesday night you can find all you can eat crab legs. I'm not talking about the dried up, overcooked ones. We're talking about super sweet, juicy meaty crab legs. I am also really loving the Brussel Sprouts and wine list. Overall - 10/10 would recommend.
Finally decided to check this place out as I was in the mood for seafood. It was all you can eat king crab legs so I opted for that. Crabs were good, fries were even better. I would consider checking this place out again for happy hour sometime.
Delicious restaurant can't wait to go back. The bartender made delicious drinks and the happy hour menu was fabulous.
Pinefish is worth it only for the Happy Hour. They have happy hour every day of the week (yes, including SUNDAY) from 4:30-6:30. We went on a sunday for the $1 Oysters and $1 Steamed shrimp. The oysters were good, the steamed shrimp had an odd sweet taste (tasted kind of like cinnamon), it was off putting after about three shrimp. You will have to shell the shrimp yourself. I also tried the salmon meatballs. It isn't anything fancy, really a drunk food that maybe should be served at a sports bar. They also have drink deals and I got a gin martini. I had to sip it slowly, there was no downing it, which is good cause I only spent $5 on it. Overall, decent experience, would go back for Happy Hour during the week, based on the Happy Hour food, not sure I'd return for an actual meal.
Great server. Food well prepared. Had scallops with roasted corn on cob.
The food was very good and the service was excellent. This was my second visit.
Overall the experience was good. The food was awesome and the beer was great as well. It should be put on the menu that there is no sharing of the all you can eat crab legs. They were good but the amount given was small.
Some interesting seafood appetizers such as fried cauliflower with raisins and anchovies, romaine salad with fried oyster "croutons". Excellent entrees. I had the fish (cod) Francaise. My partner had trout with a maple-balsalmic glaze. We opted to BYO and were charged $15 corkage, which is pretty reasonable. Highly recommended.
Thank you! Great happy hour! Loved the bang bang shrimp and the martinis.
We were the only ones. The Benedict’s were delicious! Would definitely come again!
Servers were pleasant and very accommodating. Atmosphere was wonderful. Most of all, the food was delectable! Seared tuna is one of the best I've had. So many fish specials from which to choose. I ordered the swordfish and was wowed. (There are also meat and veggie options for the non seafood lovers.)
Apparently they are known for their brunch as well as a 7 day a week happy hour. We plan to go back soon.
We dined at Pinefish around 5:30pm on a Sunday. We were able to order off the happy hour menu and ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp and the Crab balls - both were incredible! We both ordered the seafood buccatini pasta with shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari and white fish. It was DELICIOUS. Probably the best seafood pasta I've ever had. Very spicy, but managably so. It was also a HUGE portion so I had great leftovers the next day. Wish I lived in Philly - it would definitely be one of my regular spots!
Upon walking into the restaurant we were not greeted and had to walk around the restaurant til someone asked us if we needed help. The main reason we went was for all you can eat crab legs. The service was so terrible we left because it took forever before we even got asked if we wanted more crab legs. The food was very poorly seasoned as well. For what we paid for the meal it was absolutely terrible. Paid a high price for terrible service and sub par food.
The food was so fresh, nice vibe great value for a seafood lover.
Always great seafood, cheerful service. Fun! Definitelyrecommend
Very good service, quality of seafood is fresh and reasonably priced for the area of the city. Would like to try it for brunch.
Good place to eat overall. Be sure to ask all of the questions about the Lobsterfest special. It is smaller than you might expect.
Delicious food, prepared well. Great happy hour specials. Restaurant is cozy and charming.
Great Happy Hour
fun dining room, great happy hour, though many things on happy hour menu are fried. Wonderful menu with excellent fish preparations.
I celebrated a birthday and had a wonderful time. The Happy Hour menu allows the opportunity to taste some of the food at a reasonable cost. I recommend the place for those seeking a five star meal at the cost of a two start restaurant.
Good happy-hour specials, excellent whole Branzino (nothing else on the plate, though). Attentive service.
Server was very attentive and answered questions for us. Great happy hour deal on food and drinks every day! They Use house alcohol...local distillery for happy hr cocktails. Brussel sprouts had too much oil. Shrimp skewers, not actually on a skewer, was delicious! Octopus could have been more tender. Steak was great and flavorful. Oysters were perfectly cold and yummy! Dark atmosphere, especially in the back room. They do have a few tables outside. When I Googled parking lots, it kept sending us to private lots. Had to park about 10 mins away on the street.
Small and intimate. Good was great. Good place to escape from the crowd
