Pistache French Bistro
Prices are moderate and the recipes nutritionally healthy. Service is casual and efficient. The atmosphere is upbeat with a definite European flair. The interior is reminiscent of the Art Nouveau, which defined most brasseries and bistros opened in 1920"s Paris. It boasts cozy seating with numerous red leather banquettes, a full bar and giant antique mirrors. The restaurant has a feel of "Always been there". It is classic, retro-modern and sophisticated but unpretentious.
The outdoor patio overlooks Centennial Park, the Fountains and the Intracoastal Waterway. It is shaded with large umbrellas and seats 30 people in a Riviera-like setting.
We have been to Pistache twice before. This Valentine Day we thought we would try it. Dinner was rushed , room was noisy, food was fair, and very expensive. Dinner for two , with two glasses of wine, and one Martin was over $350 with tip, ( which they included on the check).
We’ve spent more on single meal ( La Tour d’Argent in Paris over $1500 for two ) but they were very special places with special presentation and incredible food.
Save your money , skip Pistache , it’s not worth it.
We’re not clear about set menu for 80 bucks per person would not substitute appetizer or dessert and automatically added 20% and charged extra for alcohol
Excellent 3 course dinner for Valentine’s Server was excellent, honest & helpful. Sat outside but inside was super noisy & crowded.
Wonderful Valentines Food and service will not disappoint
The bar tenders need to be friendlier and more attractive, it was like I was interrupting them.
Waitresses was very nice and very attentive, food was great.
Disappointed by prix fix Valentine’s Day promotion. Total tab for two, with unsatisfactory $55 bottle of NZ SAUVIGNON BLANC, was a whopping $283.21 (with automatic 20% gratuity added)! Not up to Pistache’s normally high standards and value.
PS: Service was very good.
The experience of going to Pistage starts with convenient valet parking ( free during day), close to the location. The access to the restaurant is easy and the welcome warm and quick. We where rapidly escorted to our table. Our server quickly was at our side offering warm and knowledgeable advice, including wine service. Ah...the food, from the first course to desert excellent, each bit a pleasure to savour. We will be back.
Love Pistache...beautiful room, lively crowd and delicious food!!!
Had a wonderful night out on the patio ... dinner was delicious and great atmosphere
I have been there several times, and the food and service are always great.
Perhaps we ordered the wrong menu items.........the duck breast was tough and blase.....the lamb shank the same.
Waited at the bar. Bartender was less than friendly.
Food service was pretty good, although I had to ask for water. Several times I had to look all around for my server who was pleasant once contact was made. The soup (cream of leek? and parsnip) had a rich, dreamy base but was way over salted. The lamb shank (Moroccan style) was very tender but bland, vastly under-spiced. The salmon was divine. The duck ravioli small plate was to-die-for. Love the ambience.
Tables are too close together. Not happy that they allow two large dogs at one table.
Fabulous and memorable experience. It was a special ocassion and my family and friends was equally impressed.
Pistache is a true French Bistro... I feel like in Le Marais of Paris
We had True French Onion soup folloed by A small plate of Duck Ravioli and Braised Califlower with Broccoli-Rob
The food is good, the ambiance is cozy, but the presentation of the plates is not refined for a restaurant of this caliber : they should be visually more appealing. I had the filet mignon, which was tender and well seasoned, but it was served with fries only (42$ plate). A few vegetables to accompany the meet would have been nice.
Birthday. Very accommodating
The dinner we had at Pistachio was trying on many levels. It took a very long time to receive any food and the wait in between courses was extensive. The waiter indicated the chef does not like to many any changes, which we found unhelpful. Two of us enjoyed the meal, especially the filet mignon and the profiteroles. Avoid the cauliflower risotto at all costs..it was extremely heavy, not as described. The mahi mahi was salty and barely edible. The manager begrudgingly agreed to comp us one dessert. We asked for a second and he went along with that. The noise level was unpleasantly high. Will definitely not return.
The food was outstanding and the breadth of the menu was especially nice. I haven't had steak tartare in years because so many places have dropped it but theirs was exceptional. I would go back just for that. Our group had fish and beef and everyone was very happy.
We dined at Pistache pre-theater. Everything was great except for the fact one group of 5 or 6 people brought a child who was about a year old. He shrieked and made other noises throughout our meal and that of many others. This is really an adults only restaurant but I don’t suppose that this venue has any control over this kind of thing. The food and service were excellent.
Tar tar was fabulous!
Excellent food very fresh
Terrasse is pretty nice as well
We eat here often. Took out of town guests and we all were delighted with our selections. Wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. Seafood salad is always a personal favorite and it did not disappoint.
A must when in the area. Never had a bad meal. Great bistro vibe. Yum!
Enjoyed this place very much. All the staff we interacted with were attentive and fun.
We had appetizers and small plates. The arugula salad was simple and delicious. The moules were outstanding. Nice and buttery/garlicy. We look forward to returning and trying some of the other dishes.
Always everything outstanding
Food and wait staff were excellent. Wish it was a little less noisy. Had a wonderful time
met some good friends for dinner and It met and exceeded our expectations. we sat outside as it was a beautiful evening and we noticed that inside was a bit noisy for our sensitive hearing because of our limited hearing skills based on our ages ( ; )... The food and service was spot on only wished we could have been able to consume more as so many things sounded delicious! We will certainly be back
Not only delicious food but great management & staff. They went far & above re the sad reason we were there. Thank you!
Great food and great service. Looking forward to our next visit
Opening Night of Spitfire Grill.
Excellent service and excellent food. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and service. Noise level is up there but we still seemed able to talk. Lovely server. Our only disappointment was by the time we got to dessert the bread pudding was gone...but both Tartares were excellent, and everything was perfectly cooked. Don’t miss the valet parking though as parking is tricky!
This was our third time here and we brought friends from out of town and we had a wonderful experience. Peter our waiter was amazing and very knowledgeable about food and wine. The sweetbreads were some of the best I have had and will be my go to there. It was noisier than we remember the previous times but we were sitting right next to the bar. We will definitely go back and recommend.
What a great evening! The waitress was attentive and delightful! The corner table was romantic! The support staff were wonderful! Our fish dinners were phenomenal!! Love this place. Will definitely visit again soon!
Outstanding foie gras and crispy duck confit
Special menus are always great
Never disappointed. The Grilled Octopus was outstanding, tasty and tender. The special was a Branzino that was excellent and we had the special Bread Pudding which again was wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant and the dining experience that accompanies it. Looking forward to returning soon. Also the service staff is very attentive and caring which just adds to a great evening!
The 4 of us always want to meet at Pistache! The delightful Eva was our wait staff and took grand care of us. We have enjoyed her professional care before—she is a gem! The food was, as ever, superb!
This is the perfect restaurant for a business lunch. The menu is varied and the prices are reasonable. The food is always outstanding as is the service. It is possible to have a quiet conversation without ever feeling that you are being rushed.
