PJs In The City
Please be aware that booking may have a time limit and your table need to be vacated and cleared for another party after your own booking.
Thank-you for your understanding during this period!
PJ O'Reilly's is your local pub located in the heart of Canberra city just off Northbourne Ave.
Boasting a fantastic menu of classic Aussie favourites, daily specials, a range of tap beers and live entertainment, there is little wonder why PJ's has been a popular gathering venue for over 20 years.
Not the place to get a steak but the schnitzels are good.
We had a really good experience as a group. My food was great!
We left about 6,45 and the noise level rose about that time. It was too loud compared to prior to that and made it hard to talk and relax.
Great typical pub food, ambiance really nice and quiet enough when you are a party of 10 so you can hear everyone.
Staff had to kick people off of our reserved table for us to sit down which made us feel a little uncomfortable. Food was great good value and nice ambiance. Staff were very hospitable
Great experience, will definitely book again for work lunches
Good feed, fantastic service and we had a rather pleasant lunch.
I think more alcohol-free options would be good, especially for those returning to the office afterwards!
Pizzas are tasty and you can create your own - reasonably priced
A group of six of us (4 from out of town) having a rare catch up. Super busy and lively as you would expect at most bars / pubs on a Friday night - but really just too noisy for any kind of conversation. We all had to keep shouting at each other all evening! But it was still a good atmosphere despite the noise. Food was good value - massive portions, so if you're hungry - this is your place!!!
Great place for a bite to eat staff friendly and food plentiful and delicious
Meal was good. Turnaround speed was quick and the venue has a range of beers.
Food and service were excellent. It didn't hurt that our meals came with a drink included.
Great Uni bar but as parents saw that it was safe. Great to run into the owner Dave and have a yarn. Great place, great food, good choice of wines. Was there twice in five days.
Felt really welcomed, and treated really well and looked after by all the staff
Very loud which I expected. Efficient staff, reasonable prices. What let's it down are the unsanitary and archaic toilets, I shouldn't have to use a grotty handle to exit the toilet, no paper towels just a poorly positioned air dryer.
Central location with a good range of beers and food.
We are regular visitors to PJs and always have a good time. The food is great. The bar staff can make a variety of things (including cocktails).
The main negative is the noise as there’s no sound absorption so, even when dining, you have to shout to hear each other.
Great venue for an after work celebration! Can definitely recommend!
Went to PJs for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. I was able to get a last minute reservation, and it was a quiet night there. They had live music which was great and the food was A-MAZING! Will definitely go back again in the future.
Arrived for my sons 18th, having booked on line, to find the place closed. Luckily we managed to sort something else out.
We were a party of eight for lunch on 23 December. The food was good, but venue was terribly, terribly understaffed. It was impossible to get any assistance (we even gave up waiting and seated ourselves), and it took a very long time to order (drinks and/or food) at the bar. I do understand it's hard to plan staffing, and that someone had apparently called in sick that day. Just be aware of the need to allow plenty of extra time for staffing shortages if you're planning a workday lunch.
Great wedges, decent burger and good range of beers.
Very happy with the service and the food - I am a repeat customer.
Fast service over a lunch break and staff were very helpful. We had 11 people for a birthday. There was no cakeage (fee some restaurants charge for BYO cake). I will be organising more Birthday celebrations here.
Friendly, happy staff, good value and central location.
Average food. The venue was too loud. Would only go back for drinks only - although for a pub they didn’t have many beers on tap.
I booked a high bench and didn’t get one then my mate ordered a bowl of chips and chicken wings and after 45 minutes of waiting we asked where they were and we were told that they were only just starting them then!
Great place for a drink with friends. Went for my birthday with 6 friends on a Saturday, they aloud us to stay on the table all night and was a great atmosphere while being cautious of the covid restrictions. Live music was great and the staff very friendly!
Expensive highly salted food with little variety. Overall would not recommend to family or friends.
Food was good. Service was good. Kinda loud but to be expected in a pub. Dissappointed to not be able to buy a Pint of Guinness... transitioning away from an Irish Pub apparently and no longer serve the nectar of the Gods :(
Bartender making cocktails was terrific and the cocktails were very good. Just had snacks, sweet potatoe fries and pakoras were good.
Great atmosphere. Light meal of Arancini Balls and Anitpasto Platter, just perfect.
Will definitely visit again.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
Friendly staff, enjoyable pub meals and good atmosphere.
Great venue, location and friendly staff however blasting music from 6:30pm when you are trying to have a chat with colleagues or friends after a weeks work isn’t ideal. Suggest that it might be worthwhile asking patrons if the noise is okay and have areas that are quieter. Appreciate this can change as it gets later into the night. Cheers.
Our food was delicious but it took over 5 minutes for the 8 people at our table to get their meals. Is not polite to start eating until everyone has their meal, but what can you do when you have ordered hot food?
Great food, good atmosphere for a big group of friends
Pjs is a good place for a few laid back drinks.
I always request rustic chips and get french fries :(
Also the music is too loud.
Amazing atmosphere and great drinks
Great to be out seeing friends over some drinks and some great food.
