What Insiders Are Saying
Providence is experimental, seafood-focused fine dining that's absolutely worth the price of admission.
Treated my friend for birthday dinner. The attention to detail is incomparable. The food is amazing and the whole experience was memorable.
The very minute we walked into the building we were greeted by the staff, although we were a bit early, they put us immediately at a table. The service was impeccable, the place was beautiful and everyone made us feel at home. The food was amazing for we had chosen the Signature & Seasonal tasting menu with wine pairing and it was spaced accordingly as to not rush you. This was a great place to celebrate our 31st anniversary and would gladly return again. And, at the end of our meal, they gave us a sweet send off with a card for celebrating with them on our special day! Thank you everyone, we appreciate you!
Good，but not that good.
Great for special occasions! Such a fun experience. Each course was delicious. Staff is very attentive.
Love the tasting menu experience with wine parings. The restaurant focusses on seafood & pairs nicely with white wines.
The staff was extremely friendly and professional. By far one of the best overall restaurant experiences I have ever had.
Great service. Excellent food
Providence is just beyond amazing. I'm not a foodie at all, and am not the kind of person who would ever spend this much on a meal, but after coming here once, it is now my go-to place for all special occasions. The food is just unbelievable -- I didn't even know food could taste like this! The innovation and flavor in every bite is like nothing else I have ever known. Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants of all time.
If you would like a "food experience" this is the restaurant to try. Our compliments to the
award winning chef for his creative, artistic talents. The service is impeccable and the tasting
menu is an exclusive gastronomical and visual delight. I judge my restaurants by their cheese tray
and desserts, as that is a must when enjoying a terrific. bottle of wine. Plan on relaxing for about
two hours here as each presentation must be savored. This was a very special "date night" treat
for both of us.
Amazing food, knowledgeable and gracious staff, and best anniversary date!
Greatest place in LA. I live out of state and make sure I visit every time I an in town. If it matters I have eaten at least 50 michelin stars, this place is always great.
Excellent food and service
Wish they had paced the food better - felt rushed at the start
David, Carlos and James made this night one to remember. Service was magnificent. The food was more original than anything I have ever experienced in Los Angeles, New York or San Francisco. I am just sorry I had not be going since they opened.
Fabulous restaurant. Wonderful food. Extremely kind courteous and thoughtful service. 10 out of 10.
Too full. Can’t type. I’m dying very very happy.
Second time here and as blown away as he first time. I brought the top fine dining chef in Costa Rica with me. He is blown away too.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The meal was lovely and the staff did a great job taking care of us.
Our experience at Providence was “Phenomenal”!
From the severs, to the Captains, and the food was worth the entire cost of the mail.
We are already planning to return for my wife’s birthday! The best restaurant in Los Angeles!!
Great service and amazing food that makes you taste and experience something completely new... what more can you ask for.
Dining experience of a lifetime. Staff performs with orchestra precision. Dine here and at French Laundry in Napa and you need go no further in search for world’s best.

What an exceptional restaurant. Every bite of food exploded in flavor. Service was great. Prices are very high. If you’re a foodie Ian’s in LA this place is a must.
The food was very good but very minimal. $425 for 2 is way too much.
Food was great, staff was very knowledgeable. Overall a very nice experience. A little pricey but worth it for real foodies.
Amazing dinner for a 50th birthday! Everyone was very warm and kind, and food was divine.
Everything about the meal was fantastic. Food is great best in LA and could easily compete with top restaurants around the world. Service was attentive and helpful but not overbearing. Elegant without being stuffy. A wonderful experience- like eating at a starred restaurant in Paris.
Amazing food , great atmosphere , good service. I think it’s a great place for romantic dinner .
Providence was wonderful. Loved the emphasis on seafood. Service was great. Their new bread was fabulous. The dishes were very flavorful.
If Michelin would review the restaurant, it would get 3 ***!!
Creative food, outstanding service. Carlos was a terrific waiter and made our dinner even more enjoyable.
Amazing experience with great food, amazing service. Very rounded! The uni egg is the best!!
My friends and I have dined together and with others at several Michelin star rated restaurants at LA, SF, and throughout the world. We agree when it comes to LA and SF, Providence is arguable the best or at least when your looking for the best in California, in the spirit of March Madness, you have to include Providence in your Final Four!
To Whom It May Concern,
I have been to Providence a handful of times since 2012 and I have never been disappointed with the food, presentation and service. I have brought my family here and my sister is also a huge fan of Providence. I decided to bring my boyfriend here for the first time for our anniversary on 4/6/19 at 8:45PM under Liang. I was very excited to show him this place, but unfortunately Saturday night did not meet our expectation.
The area in which we sat felt like a corridor area which made it feel like we were away from the ambience of the restaurant. When we had the bread it was inevitable for crumbs to get on the table, but no one came to clean it up until later. The servers did not seem very enthusiastic either when presenting each dish. I understand it was late in the day and we stayed til almost midnight, everyone was probably tired, but with the reputation of Providence, I would have expected them to be a little more attentive and enthusiastic.
When we started our course we noticed that the first dish was pretty salty, but we figured it was just that one dish. After 4-5 dishes which were all on the salty side we decided to notify one of the servers. The saltiness was overpowering and it was hard to enjoy the dish and enjoy the taste. After the correction the dishes afterwards were better. The manager did come to apologize and comped our 2 cocktails. However half of our course was salty and not enjoyable.
In the past the chef did an amazing job at balancing each dish and having a contrast of heavy and light dishes to counterbalance each other. We felt that each dish was heavy and creamy and there was no light dish to counterbalance it. It wasn’t until the end when we had the sorbet that we finally had something more refreshing.
I must say that the experience was sub par from what I have experienced in the past and to be frank, I felt it was not worth the amount of money we spent.

Absolutely the finest restaurant in Los Angeles. From the moment you walk in the door, the welcoming staff takes care of you. The food is beautiful and the flavors are wonderful. The wine pairing is the best I've experienced. On par with Le Bernadin in NYC. Don't miss this restaurant if you have a chance.
we recommend Providence to people all the time. it is my wife and I favorite restaurant and the staff is amazing.
This was an experience of a lifetime...the food was beyond compare, the paired wines were equal to the task and the wait staff was exemplary! A must do for the essential foodie.
The food was outstanding! presentations beautiful. the service was perfunctory. nothing terrible to note but at this level of thoughtful cuisine, the service could have snapped in a few areas. And, yes, I would return.
Food is masterfully prepared, artistically presented and delivered by the finest waitstaff in the industry. Wine selection and service is superb. Over the years we had many outstanding meals.
This review would be amiss not mentioning a serious problem with this restaurant: at dinner, guests must order one of the multi-course menus, there is no a la carte option. Friday lunch is the exception.
Wonder full food service and room comfy
Impeccable food and such genuinely kind staff! The chef was so friendly and greeted us as well. Thank you for a memorable experience.
No service at all .... won't come back anymore !
Fantastic in every way!
