We shared 6 different items and each was phenomenal. Burrata, octopus, duck, mussels, lamb and scallops. Serving sizes were great for sharing

It was a wonderful experience all around. Dishes are very tasty. Great combination of texture, flavor, visual presentation. Would definitely come back. I have already recommended to 2 people.

We sat at the chef's counter and it was a bonus! We got to watch the kitchen staff and they were so efficient! Also got to watch owner/chef Andrew in action and talk to him after. Wish we had gotten a photo with him ! : )

We can't not ask for a better dining experience. Can't wait to return.

Service was great. Flavors were good. Portion sizes were small, even for small plates. Didn't leave hungry, but certainly wasn't excited to order another dish.

The food was amazing, my favorite being the tempura elotes. The service was good, great recommendations, a little slow on the tail end when trying to pay, But was fast and attentive leading up to that.

Birthday dinner was great. Our waiter gave us complimentary champagne as a celebration! Service was a bit slow in between plates, and we ended up putting an order in with a different waiter, but overall had a very good experience.

My son, Sam gave me a gift certificate for Proxi and we used it this past weekend! What an amazing place! The atmosphere is really cool and very modern decor. The bartender, Tom was totally engaging and on top of his game! The entrees we ordered were out of this world! Overall, a night to remember! We cant wait to go back..

We had a reservation at 8:30pm, and it took 30 minutes for us to get seated. The management was very apologetic about waiting for that long once it got to 30 minutes, but it still was a bit ridiculous to wait that long. The food and service was great though.

A real foodie experience - all dishes were delicious. Particularly loved the smoked pumpkin and short rib. Cocktails were great too. It is a bit loud but has an energetic, cool vibe.

What a mess. The space is great and several of the dishes we had were excellent. However, the service was non-existent, we ordered twice directly from the head chef, the first wine we ordered was undrinkable (they did replace it, albeit with a more expensive bottle), brought the wrong food (and charged us for the the wrong food) and finally there was hair in the final dish which ruined the entire meal - just so disgusting. The chef clearly has a nice talent, he needs to get his front of house in order.

We were rushed, with food delivery at much to rapid a pace for relaxation and conversation. Noise level, while busy, is high. Food is uneven. Vegetable dishes and salads were well flavored, but pork dish was tough and bland. Overall, disappointing.

Every year I host a small dinner party of 8-12 people and look for a new and exciting restaurant in my home Chicago. The group consists of my boss, clients, prospects, and Me. This year I chose Proxi.

Every single person said it was one of the best restaurants they have EVER been to. My boss couldn't complement me enough on my restaurant choice. Guests in attendance were from Baltimore, Philly, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Orange County CA, Buffalo, Toronto, D.C., and Tallahassee. We had a great group of world travelers and self-proclaimed foodies.

We were in the private room off the main restaurant and bar. The food - perfect. The cocktails - perfect. The staff - perfect. The family style service and selection of food was more than enough and ever single course was better than the next.

I have no idea how I will ever be able to pick a different restaurant and invite any of the same people next year. I might have to have my annual client appreciation dinner at Proxi forever.

It’s a fun place to try once with a group of friends. The food is inconsistent; some of the small plates are delicious and others are mediocre replications of street food. Environment is great. Service, though friendly, is inconsistent.

Overall it was a great experience. Sat at the counter which was interesting opportunity to watch the hustle. The service started out great (we had an early reservation) because it wasn't crowded. Once we were starting to get our orders (we intentionally paced it) the attention shifted. It wasn't bad so much as too long between contact so we did forego ordering another dish. The drinks were very good, the pomelo and yellow tail was excellent as was the grilled mushroom noodle salad. While everyone raves about the elotes, I thought they were average. The chocolate custard dessert was pretty average, too. Would go back if we lived in the area.

They were super accomodating when we showed up early. The waiter was very helpful with recommendations and knowledge of the menu. The octopus was a bit disappointing (more salad than octopus) but the mussles and spicy pork were very tasty. Cocktails were also very good.

Everything was wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and helped us identify gluten free options. The scallops were incredible, and the yellowtail salad was too. Can’t wait to go back.

Very attentive servers in a fun, trendy environment. The food was delicious, but the serving sizes were minuscule. For example, I ordered the scallops dish and paid $18 for TWO scallops. The mung bean dumplings were quite small and came out to about $2.50 apiece. Also, they put fish sauce in everything (including the chicken dish), so there were only three main dishes on the menu my fish-allergic husband could eat. I would recommend this restaurant for an after work drink instead of dinner.

We walked down the street to Proxi to try their, relatively, new brunch. Well, it was fabulous! I decided to try a dish that was outside of my usual brunch basics, Congee. It was a light comfort food with just the right amount of flavor. And, the staff graciously treated us to three shrimp toast appetizer which was a spice filled delight. I skipped the incredible looking doughnut placed in front of us for health reasons, but, it took every fiber of my being to not dive in given the tempting look and ingredients of the sweet treat.

The fried items tasted like dirty oil. Waitress was stiff and short. Some food items needed salt to say the least. We’ve visited the restaurant for dinner many times and after getting so many marketing fliers for their brunch we gave it a go. Needless to say we were disappointed with the quality...

Had dinner with a girlfriend and while my food came out in a normal fashion, hers as extremely slow. So slow that we told them to forget it because it had around 50 mins since we got there and her small plate hadn’t arrived yet.

Had dinner and cocktails with a friend before a show and we sampled from the vegetarian dishes. Nice variety of food and drink choices. Server was attentive, and gave good recommendations. We really enjoyed the smoked pumpkin and burrata plates!

The host was not very good at their job meaning that there were a lot of empty tables at the restaurant but we had to wait 7-10 minutes for our table. Plus it wasn't even cleared out once we got assigned our table, therefore, had to wait another 3 minutes. The server didn't approach us within 2 minutes of being seated, we had to wait for 5 minutes, plus she wasn't very attentive and water was never refilled until we asked. Timeliness of service could be improved but the food was amazing. The tempura elotes was bomb!

Overall, a great experience. The decor was my favorite part. However, no one to greet at the door and server was kind of indifferent about her job. Music selection was top notch and the quality of the meal itself was decent. Didn’t order drinks, just tea at brunch.

Simply Loved it! The zucchini salad was amazing, as was the papadum (sp?) Chickpea salad was spicy n very good. We would have been thrilled with it, if we hadn’t had the other two outstanding dishes first! Cappuccinos came in insulated glasses — nice. Service just fine. Didn’t have drinks, but saw some beauties at other tables. Already booked a return visit!

On our first visit, we chose to sit at the Chef's Table ( a nice long counter ) and are happy we did. If you enjoy dishing with the Chef while watching line cooks at work, check it out.

Chef Andrew Zimmerman's menu is what he calls global street food. We particularly enjoyed the range of flavor and texture combinations of savory and spicy sweet.

We started with roasted and charred broccoli enhanced with marcona almonds and sesame-chili oil. Ooh la la! A crispy Vietnamese crepe with shrimp and pork belly and a dish of seared scallops were too good to share! Ha! Finally, Thai sausage with nham prik (Thai chili sauce) you wrap in butter lettuce, accompanied by chiccaron, super crisp pork skin: a neat contrast in textures and flavors.

Needless to say it was a fabulous meal, and not available on any global street we've visited!

Had a nice pre-opera dinner here. The food was nothing short of excellent. Server was extraordinarily knowledgeable about both food and beverage menu items.

I've been to Proxi many times and every time they manage to wow me! From the amazing gin and tonics to the grilled mushroom and yuba noodles salad (which I dream about), you will not be disappointed. The wait staff are really nice and very helpful. I just love this place.
