Awesome restaurant. Good balance in the wine list and some excellent options in the degustation. Service was warm, professional and helped to bring us a great selection of dishes- some suited to our palate and others that were quite interesting. Our only note was that the prawns could have been a little more juicy (what they lacked in juiciness they made up for in delicious char). Thanks for an excellent experience for our anniversary- much appreciated!
The menu has plenty of options and interest for diners, with inventive plates a feature.
Lovely long lunch with very old friends!
Food was to die for, the vibe was spot on and staff were super accommodating. Only niggle was that the measure/pour for a glass of wine was tiny - considering the price by glass. Would 100% go back though if in the area.
Wonderful food and service! Loved the recommendations.
Interesting food cooked well and delicious! The wine list is a little challenging but we found a bottle to enjoy. Highly recommended. Canberra is lucky to have a chef of this caliber. We’ll be back!
We were looking for something special as a way to end our road trip to Canberra and that's exactly what we got at Rebel Rebel: an interesting space, super friendly staff, intriguing and yummy food, and overall decent value. Be sure to get the steak tartare!
Great food and service will definitely be returning!
A sublime mid-week birthday lunch with a friend who is mainly vegetarian (with the occasional fishy dish). We shared corn and manchego croqueta with prawn head aioli, straciatella with olive caramel and pickled lemon (served with grainy, toasted bread) and Jerusalem artichokes with celeriac, hazelnut and ricotta salsa. All delicious and innovative. A heart warming cheesy feast on a cold Canberra day. We succumbed and complemented this fine food with a glass each of fine white wine. We went beyond our usual local (parochial?) favourites from the region, and chose one from Adelaide and one from Italy. This was after a generous tasting of several wines, all served in fresh glasses. The service was impeccable: welcoming, coats graciously taken, easy electronic checkin on the CBR app, a cosy table with sun streaming in, and a quiet, relaxed ambience for good conversation. We are blessed to have such fine chefs and service staff in Canberra and to be free to go out, mingle and celebrate. We will be back.
Second visit to Rebel Rebel visiting from Sydney. Very flavoursome food and interesting wine.
In love with this place. The decor, the friendly people, the innovative and yet simple ingredients done extremely right and respected. Will come back here at my next trip to Canberra!
Great friendly vibe. amazing portuguese tarts, great coffee.
Really enjoyed Kingfish and Wagyu Tongue. Would definitely go back again. Need to leave room for dessert next time.
The corn fritters, prawns and, of course, chips a must have! Fabulous dining with excellent service.
Will definitely be back….thoroughly enjoyed everything the restaurant had to offer!
Excellent lunch with a friend. We’ve eaten here a lot and we always have a great time. The food is delicious. Great wine selection too.
Rebel Rebel offers a discerning diner a range of quality produced and executed meals prepared with passion and expertise! Sometimes, when you visit a restaurant like this with great food innovation and a use of ingredients unfamiliar to some diners a “go to” dish is what is needed on your menu
We had a perfect evening at Rebel Rebel. The service was perfect - knowledgeable, efficient and understated. The food was outstanding - the ingredients and flavours really spoke for themselves. We especially enjoyed the tartare and the tongue. Hope to come back again.
Lovely food, great friendly service, lively atmosphere, good value for money.
Some hits some misses. Stratchiatella and sand whiting were both excellent but the confit duck was too salty. I could not detect pommelo on the oyster. Quince tart failed to highlight the quince and was too sweet even before adding caramel sauce. Great service and we were not rushed.
Great food and friendly relaxed vibe. Wine and spirits list excellent.
It was excellent
Incredible food. So flavoursome!
Loved it, great warm helpful service and incredible food.
Great long lunch at Rebel Rebel. Food was matched well to the wine we chose. Good ambiance. Thanks!
Loved everything about it!
Had an enjoyable evening. Enjoyed the share plate concept.
Food was incredible and would definitely recommend it !
Food is innovative, wine list is extensive and interesting and the service is exceptional.
Good food is never better than when it is accompanied by great service. The front of house staff were friendly, knowledgable and attentive. They were on the ball and were observant of all that was going on across the restaurant.
The menu is designed to be shared and serving sizes were just about perfect for two. The wines by the glass allowed for something a little different than the usual and there was enough variety.
The kingfish with verjus was stunning, with apple adding textural interest and a clever flavour contrast. The cabbage dish was outstanding - perfectly cooked and served with a salad of coriander, sumac and eschallot. the other shared dishes were also excellent and presented with simple elegance. The citrus leaf ice cream sandwich for dessert was an absolute winner, only surpassed by the quince and treacle pudding with buckwheat ice cream.
Next time I go I will take a late booking so that I can enjoy the meal with more leisure.
And the bill? Less than expected for such a classy meal.
We have a deep and long professional experience in the hospitality industry as chef’s,cook’s and restaurant owner’s in a wide range of format’s both here in Australia and overseas over many year’s.Sean’s concept from the start of Rebel is apparent to anyone who cares to pay attention.Keep it simple, keep it real, apply technique to let the produce speak for itself with minimum intervention,on beautiful tableware,in an ambience that does not impose itself, served by a front of house team who are quirky, professional and express pride in their role.
The kitchen team as I have observed over several visit’s express a quiet polished precise consistency.
We would, without any hesitation, recommend Rebel Rebel as somewhere anyone with even the slightest interest in food,as somewhere to check out and embrace at least once time..If your expectation’s are mired in some time trapped idea of what and where cuisine is at..do yourself a favour.Rebel Rebel totally deserves your attention.
My only gripe..
To the in house music consultant..well..
Wednesday lunch this week..it was mid 1960’s English BBC 2 radio top 40 hit’s.It’s campy dreck from a confused culture of that era.
I’m not convinced personally that’s the way to go.
Always looked after so well and the food has always been consistently outstanding. Become my favorite place for any occasion.
The food was outstanding...Only sorry we didn't have time to stay for dessert.
Great work, looking forward to our next dinner at Rebel Rebel
Amazing food- was highly recommended and did not disappoint!

Great food and service. Went there for dinner and was blown away!
Having dine at Rebel Rebel before, I suggested to my friends that we have lunch there.
They were impressed by the menu, we enjoyed the innovative and flavorsome food, excellent service and good reasonable priced wines. We had a good time!
Great experience. Both Dinner and Breakfast had been fantastic - we will be back!
Ambiance and service is superb. Food was standard and not worth the price.
As usual everything about Rebel Rebel was a class act. Great to see you Sophie!
