Omg it was so much fun. The food was great, drinks were great and the staff was great. There was one table of people that was SUPER loud though. Other then that it was fine.
The food and service were excellent, drinks were on point and delicious. We have zero complaints, it was our first time there and we will definitely be back
Service was absolutely terrible. I've never experienced anything worse. We paid $30 to make a reservation and when we got there, they refused to seat us at all. They said that they would not seat us because our party was one person off from the number of people we had indicated on the reservation. There had been a mistake while booking the reservation, but we stated that we were more than willing to pay any extra cost necessary to add one more chair to our large table. Additionally, the restaurant was completely empty because we had made our reservation for the second they opened at 5pm, so COVID restrictions weren't even the issue at hand. The restaurant adamantly refused to seat us without providing us any reason whatsoever. It was ridiculous, considering we had literally just come directly from a loud, bustling restaurant in Clarendon and they had zero issues letting us add one more person to our table despite how busy they were for brunch. Finally, we decided to just leave and kindly asked for our $30 deposit back, since we didn't even get to sit down. However, they refused, again being very rude without providing any sort of explanation as to why we cannot get our money back. I have never received worse service in my life and I would highly suggest that anyone who is considering going here just find a different restaurant/bar to enjoy.
The restaurant was very nice and well cared for. The food was delicious and the drinks were really good.
went for the Sakura pop-up and it seems that they overbooked making us wait in a long line even with reservation. While they had a specified area for waiting customers, they still let them do the line inside the restaurant causing us to be eating with people’s behinds right next to us.
The food and drinks where the only good thing. everything tasted delicious.
We had to wait longer than expected (even with a reservation). But once we were able to be seated i couldn’t be more pleased. The drinks were great, the food was ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL. I end up ordering more food to go. Beautiful ambiance.
We waited over 30 mins after our scheduled reservation. The staff was wonderful, the service was great and our server was very accommodating. The food was ok, it doesn’t seem like a lot thought was put into it. I did feel queezy later that night and morning after eating the food. The drinks were so bad, I would love to try it again because the staff was so great. But I probably won’t be coming back.
The Sakura pop up event was underwhelming, they ran out of one of their five entrees and we were one of the earliest parties to arrive. Not worth paying a $5 cover to be honest. Food was way too pricey too, about diner quality.
A little overpriced for the quality of food. Could have gotten better Asian food elsewhere. Cute theme and nice experience with the cherry blossoms, just don’t go for quality food
It was of course covid safe not that many people which was good. The drinks were amazing and the food was delicious for sure recommend anyone who hasn’t been which was my first time to check it out. The cherry blossom pop up was a nice touch too.
It’s definitely more of a date night affair but still worth the visit.
It wasn't too busy which was nice. All servers were great. The apple strawberry sake coktail was amazing! We ordered starters which was super filling, even sharing between us two. Would definitely come back to try an entrée from the main menu
The food and service was medicore. Their ramen was pretty bland, but the teriyaki wings and matcha milkshake was cool. Had an issue with our server attempting to charge us for an item we never ordered as well. Also the ambience was nice.
the spring themed decor was cute, we mainly came for that. I feel like I was expecting something more but I think that it still wasn’t bad. the food was good, I really enjoyed my ramen. service was a bit slow but I assume they were very busy since a lot of people were trying to get in for the spring themed pop up. they also had a great apple flavored cocktail (can’t remember the name)
Good food and the decorations were great. Had some trouble at the end of dinner as we were a party of 6 and could not do separate checks.
Arrived, checked in and got seated right away. Had a little trouble scanning the QR code but we had paper menus anyway. Food was great, ambience was great and it was not too loud. Loved the cherry blossom decor
So luckily we got seated inside that’s a good thing and our waitress was super sweet but there was other server there well idk if he’s maybe the manager, Spanish guy with kind of long hair he was super rude rushing people out of the restaurant and it was only 11:30. And he was being mean to our waitress so that was the only sucky part.. but other then that the food was great !
We apologize for this experience, could you please email more information to info@rewinddc so we can handle this matter.
Bad food, bad drinks, expensive for what it is. Decor for cherry blossom pop up was nice
For the price, not worth it at all. Ramen was flavorless. Drink with egg white smelled a lot like eggs
It was very peaceful and nice to look at. Honestly, the food was a bit on the pricey side and wasn't worth it. But overall the experience was nice. Staff was nice and it was peaceful.
Our rates are aligned with the DC Market rate for restaurants in our class!
Kinda hyped up. Decor is not as much as you think. A bit over priced
Good : just waited 30 mins after reservation time...
The restaurant was SO beautifully decorated, the staff was fantastic and super attentive, the food was excellent. The only negative I have is that when we were seated we were only given the Sakora menu and not the full menu and we would have ordered so much more of what we wanted if we knew we didn't have the full menu.
Cherry Blossom promotion was great.
The place looked nice and I get that it’s small, but I didn’t like how close they had us to everyone. The food was ok. Ramen was not good at all. The wings and gyoza were great. The drinks were really good. Our waitress was super nice.
We comply with the CDC Guideline of 6ft apart per tables!
Food was great but not too many options for pescatarians.
The place was decorated beautifully! The service was spot on and the food was very flavorful. Took my daughter for a dinner date and she enjoyed it!
The drinks are a little over priced and food was a little disappointing but all in all a great atmosphere and fun place for a pop up
This pop up was very beautiful sight wise and only thing I would recommend from the menu is the teriyaki wings and fries. Other than that everything else goes downhill. Fist of all service was extremely slow it took our server about 20 mins to come and ask us what we wanted to drink. I’m not sure but it seemed like they had one waitress working all tables. When our food finally arrived our steak that I ordered with steak and fries was extremely salty. I didn’t bother saying anything because just for the waitress to come back and check on our table would take forever. I don’t ever mind gratitudes being added to the tab it makes my life easier, but I feel as if the servers know the tip is included they don’t care about customer service. Not only that but we had the table right by the door so when the doors would open we would feel all the cold wind come in. Wish I could’ve got a better experience at this place. I don’t really recommend take your money and date else where.
We apologize for your dining experience! We have not been able to fully operate due to COVID-19 restrictions. We are currently running short staffed and trying our best to survive until we can re-hire more staff. We are constantly conducting service training and meeting with our staff to improve guest experiences. Auto Gratuity became the standard during COVID-times so that our employees can earn livable wages.
We went for the “Cherry Blossom pop up” and it was a little disappointing. The decor was okay, for this to be a pop up I expected the place to give that full cherry blossom feel, it didn’t! In my opinion poorly decorated. Upstairs where no one was seated looked a little better. The drinks were not worth the price at all, tasted like juice. I tried Everything on the “Sakura” menu and only two things were really good; the dumplings and the Brussels sprouts. The server was nice but the service was not good, most of the time we had to look around to catch a glimpse of her, and the place is small. A few of my friends are coming to dc soon and I was hoping to take them there but I won’t be returning for this pop up.
The place was decorated so nicely and the food was amazing!!!!
I was a little disappointed how there was no one to greet me at the door, and I was passed a couple of times before I had to stop an employee who might have been the manager to tell him I had a reservation. The female bartender who served me was nice and attentive and I appreciated her care throughout my meal. I was also concerned bc the employee who I had to tell I had a reservation, had his mask off several times in my hour time there. He was talking to other employees but was behind customers who were eating and about 10 feet from me. Uncomfortable in the midst of a pandemic.
The shishito peppers were good and the drinks were good, the ramen was mediocre. Texture of the noodle was nice but broth and beef were lacking in flavor and seasoning.
We apologize for your perception of no one being! Like every other DC restaurant, we have not been able to hire more staff due to COVID-19 restrictions and not being able to operate at full capacity. We are currently running short staffed and trying our best to get through the Pandemic until we can get thing up and running again. Our staff is training on all PPE safety on protocols. Thank you for brining this to our attention. We will address mask wearing again in our next meeting.
I am from out of town and wanted to experience the Sakura Cherry Blossom theme pop up they had. I laid the reservation fee for this experience as well. When I get there they did not have a table available for inside dining. Instead we were seated outside. The point of paying the reservation fee was to be able to sit inside. If I would have known that I would have done a regular reservation with no fee. The Ramen birria was delicious. We had their wings which were also good but they were very heavy on the soy sauce. We also had the cherry blossom drink which tasted like cough syrup. Compared to the other restaurants DC has to offer I probably would not pay to reserve here again.
Open Table had a system glitch and allowed for overbookings for multiple days until we were able to fix it. Although we would have loved to seat everyone inside- this is against current government restrictions and social distancing protocols. We do not use soy sauce on our wings, only teriyaki sauce! The cherry blossom drink is made with cherries, as is most cough medicine- which is why the taste may be similar. This is due to the cherry flavor itself.
The first part of the experience was terrible!!! When myself and my guest arrived we were told our only option was to sit outside. We were 30 mins early to our reservation and we asked if we could wait for a table inside to be available and the manager told us we didn’t have the option to sit inside just because. No real explanation given. 10 minutes after us a white couple arrives and are our outside next to us and they went back inside because they were not happy with the outside seating either. The WHITE couple was immediately sat to a table inside when they asked. The same manager who told us we could not sit inside told the white couple they had an option. My first time experience racism in an establishment and I will NEVER be going back there AGAIN. When we asked why were Weren’t seated inside the manger looked stupid trying to come up with an excuse as to why were not able to sit inside. Then to make up for it they sat us in the restaurant in the back. Terrible terrible terrible place would not recommend to anyone black. The server was amazing though very accommodating.

Our staff was able to accommodate you inside but we apologize that it was not an ideal location for you.
paid for the Sakura " experience just to be seated outside when the whole purpose was to be inside where the experience was

Rewind was a terrible pop up bar for the cherry blossoms. I made reservations, PAID the fee and was not allowed to sit in the dining area that was decorated in cherry blossoms theme. That is the whole experience of even being there and why we came. When I asked to sit inside instead the host said nope you can't. No options to sit inside. Why am I even paying a fee for a reservation and on top of that to sit outside on U street with a bunch of drunk hooligans at the neighboring restaurant. I will never come here again. A waste of time.
Food was garbage. Drinks were overly priced. Don't be suckered to come here by the cherry blossom theme.
Open Table had a system glitch and allowed for overbookings for multiple days until we were able to fix it. Although we would have loved to seat everyone inside- this is against current government restrictions and social distancing protocols. You might be confused with the location- we are located on Connecticut Ave- not on U ST and the only neighboring restaurant is a small family-owned sports bar with 3 tables located outside.
The food and service was amazing! 10/10 recommend. Worth the $
We liked the Birria ramen but sad to be sat outside on the sidewalk instead of inside with the cherry blossom decor. Since you pay for the reservation I thought we would be having the whole experience :( if you make a reservation make sure you specify that you want to sit inside.
Also, if you like spicy you need to ask them for their house special spicy sauce to put in the ramen. It’s really hot so try it first!

We made very late reservations at Rewind for my birthday. I was excited to see a reservation system because it made me believe that the restaurant was being Covid-conscious. Instead we arrive to a PACKED bar where the officer running security (I can only assume that’s why there was a fully uniformed officer standing at the door) wasn’t even wearing a mask. They had us sit in a small back hallway for 20 minutes past our reservation time and then promptly forgot we were there when they called my cellphone to let us know the table was ready. They then take us to a very small bar table in the middle of the room. Our seats allowed us to physically rough TWO separate parties. We were uncomfortable with the proximity and complete disregard for not only our safety but their staff’s safety. We frequent DC and will continue to post pandemic, but this pick will not get another chance from me for their attitude about a pandemic that has taken so many lives.
This place was absolutely awful! We went during the cherry blossom pop-up event and could only get a reservation for 8:15 pm. We also had to pay a $5 cover PER PERSON! We showed up right on time and ended up waiting for almost an hour in a sorry excuse of a “waiting room”. We finally got a table meant for only 2 people after we were starving. We immediately ordered appetizers and drinks. The drinks were WAY too strong, and not in a good way! The appetizers tasted like they were frozen food from Costco reheated. We ended up ordering Mac and cheese, a quesadilla, and chicken wings for dinner. The total bill was $150!!! The ambiance was a straight up club. This place was absolutely a club pre-COVID. As an apology for us having to wait an hour, they served us bottom-of-the-barrel vodka that we absolutely did NOT want. I would NEVER go to this place again. Don’t be fooled by their marketing. This is not a place that deserves any of your money!
We apologize for your dining experience! Like every other DC restaurant, we have not been able to fully operate due to COVID-19 restrictions and not being able to operate at full capacity. The drinks and food prices are aligned with the standard Dupont Circle market rate.
