First time giving a restaurant 1 star... Incredibly slow service, zero training, bone-dry lamb shank, and weird menu (Mediterranean? or Italian?) Hope they improve on their service and food, since it actually is a beautiful space.

This restaurant is located inside of a hotel, although the setting is very pretty. Parking is valet only, which is expensive although the restaurant will validate your ticket for 50% off (which came out to about $16 anyways). It was awkwardly quiet when we went, granted we did not have dinner at a busy time. Food was eh for the most part, the corn chowder honestly tasted like a canned soup, the mushroom sauce on the sirloin was a bit too hearty. The mushroom risotto was pretty good as were the drinks. Service was fantastic and the staff is very nice, although it did take a while for dessert to come out which was odd considering we were one of only three parties there. I wasn’t too impressed with the desserts either, once again just tasted store bought like the chowder. Probably won’t come back but not completely disappointed with our choice for dinner, best word to describe this place is just eh.

Nice, quiet and clean for a good conversation. Waiters gave an outstanding service. Cocktails were very nice balanced. We tried lady Diana, a jalapeño margarita, very nice IPA. Food is nicely presented but not tasty, either salty of lock of flavor. We tried the Brussels sprouts, calamari, oysters, seafood fettuccine, the salmon and ravioli lobster, all nice to the eye but, not yo our taste buds. Prices are high for the portion and flavor. I didn’t find any of the “Mediterranean f de labor “ in the food, If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and nice cocktails, this is the place to be

It was not what we expected from pictures online. The pictures made it look grandiose but it was really just a less than impressive hotel restaurant. The prices were too high for the subpar food served. Disappointed

My daughter made reservations here for a birthday dinner for me. We are from out of town and unfamiliar with area. Both of our dinners were delicious , lamb and beet ravioli, dessert was chocolate mousse. All great. The waiter was attentive and friendly. Anticipating our needs.

A spectacular, modern interior (although one side looks out on traffic). Chicken picatta was perhaps the best value I've had in a long time - chicken and veggies cooked well, creamy sauce and not too much or too little - for $22. I'm regularly seeing entrees that used to be in the $20s that are now in the high $30s. The only drawback was the overly attentive waiter. But, after I told him to back-off for the 2nd time, he got it and adjusted well. So good, we'd stay in the Intercontinental next visit to Houston.

Safina's is a relaxing oasis in the Texas Medical Center area. We had a quiet dinner with attentive service, a good wine list, and excellent fish. My only suggestion is to think carefully about the booths....they are not as comfortable as the tables. A back pillow, provided by the host, did the trick. Get one when you start out! :)

Amazing experience overall. This is a very beautiful dining area with exceptional murals. The staff is professional and attentive. The hotel in general is very clean from the lobby, bar area, restaurant and bathrooms. The food is exceptional!

The service was really, really slow. When I asked for items the waiter would reply “…well some of the items are on other side of hotel “ I ordered items on the menu so it felt like they didn’t want to go get items on the menu. Otherwise, the food was great when it arrived but ask for refills of drinks and any condiments before waiter leaves bc you will wait and wait… until the food is cold.

I really enjoyed my experience at Safina. The food was really good, our service was excellent, and it was very comfortable to eat there. The only thing is that I think the waiters assume that we were hotel guests so I actually had to find the waiter to pay for the food. Who knows? I might have to come back to try lunch or dinner sometime!

My wife and I decided to try a different style of cuisine for the night. I reserved our table the night before and everything was a breeze. We were created with a friendly face and politeness. There was a Valentine's Day menu but we decided to order from their regular menu items. I will say that the website menu should be updated as soon as possible. The original reason I choose this restaurant besides the Mediterranean cuisine, was for their Chilean Sea bass. This is definitely one of wife's favorite dishes, so I thought we should give it a try. Unfortunately, it was no longer on their active menu. What was on the menu however, did not disappoint. We started with truffle fries and braised ribs as an appetizer and ended with scallops and chicken frittata as our main course. Overall it was a pleasant night in a wonderfully ambient environment. "Two very enthusiastic thumbs up"

Had a glass of wine, scallops, and brussell sprouts. Food and service were fine. Next night I had chicken piccata with vegetables - very delicious and ordered a club sandwich with fries for my husband to go. All good. He ate every bite.

Houston's sleeping gem! Beautiful sundrenched restaurant. The calm in the middle of the storm as two story tall glass walls parrallel Main Street. The menu has several choices from traditional to Lebanese. Service was impeccable. Food was delicious. Next time I visit Houston I'm booking a room at the Intercontinental Hotel as the train is a very short walk accessing the museum district et al sans car!!!!!

Arrive late in Houston and decided to eat at the Hotel. Loved the jazz music. Staff was outstanding. Ambiance was fair (booths didn’t feel like a nice restaurant), but food was well prepared and presented. Overall excellent experience — we would have no hesitation to dine here again.

Safina has to be one of the classiest and romantic restaurants I have been to. There was low, jazz/modern classical music playing in the background. Very easy to hear yourself and your date to have a nice conversation. You can enjoy the music without feeling like it’s too loud. It was at a slightly above-whisper level. The dining room was very beautiful with simple, Arabic inspired decor with earth toned colors. The food was amazing in taste and presentation. The staff were extremely attentive and detail oriented. The host was always coming by to check in on everyone and was very clean cut in his suit. It’s very private and secluded so there was no hustle-and-bustle type of environment of a typical dining room.

Used OpenTable for reservation because restaurant would not pick up the phone, even though I was staying as a guest at the Intercontinental Server kept pushing my daughter to make an S was rude. He was obviously in a hurry and asked her four or five times. She was just trying to decide, and he should have backed off his pushy routine once we told him we hadn’t yet decided on our orders. Main dishes were fine,, and the dessert was very good, which kept this from being a one-star review for rude service
