Fantastic food selection, all presented as expected and delicious! They were out of their “staple” - the Tavern chips - bit made up for it with a great PEI mussel fish! Music by Christopher John was great - a really nice evening all around. Looking forward to returning!
Overall a very nice experience. The wait staff is outstanding. The food was very good. The only issue was they ran out of nachos (unbelievable seeing we sat at 3:45pm) And they also ran out of ginger beer which was an ingredient in a mixed drink the ladies were having. We did not get bogged down in those details and substituted just fine.
Dinner after the North Pole Express. Great food and drinks, very quick service for a busy Saturday night and a really nice restaurant. Kid friendly with a good selection of kids meals. Great overall spot.
Great food great service burger was fantastic cooked just right and the onion jelly with the cheese was fantastic
Food was excellent. Wonderful sandwiches as well as entrees. Service was outstanding.
The menu was fabulous. So unique so it was difficult to choose. Our waiter was very patient even though there was a large kids party nearby. Would go again!
Really good food for the price. Good service. Great atmosphere. Really nice bar.
Too loud with the band. Couldn’t hear my friends talking.
Great burgers, sandwiches and fries. Varied selection on menu but we stuck w the basics.
Solid all around
Great place. Service and food was excellent. The band on a Sunday night was terrific. Can’t wait to return.
We were very pleased with our lunch at Scotch Plains Restaurant. The service was excellent and the food tasty.
Great pub food and drinks in a beautiful setting. Waitstaff was so friendly and attentive.
Fabulous lunch yesterday a SPT! From the moment we walked in and were given lots of seating options by the congenial host/manager, to the exceptional service we got from Hope (she is just AMAZING!!), to the delicious entrees (husband had the ribs that had a really nice kick to them), and I had the signature burger with stilton and port wine - so good!!), I would describe our lunch as the kind of outstanding experience we used to get in many places pre-COVID. Now, with staffing shortages, service in many restaurants is understandably erratic, but not at SPT! Hope was the only server we saw on the floor (in the main dining room), assisted with a few deliveries of food, etc., by the manager and another gentleman, and she OWNED IT! We will DEFINITELY be back to SPT, and also look forward to enjoying the large and inviting outdoor area, when the weather warms up again!
The food was excellent, as were the cocktails. We were very surprised at the reasonable prices overall. I loved the contrasting atmosphere between the dining room and the bar area upstairs! Both were extremely inviting. Our server was very accommodating. I look forward to returning.
We went on a Sunday afternoon to watch the 4pm football games. I have only been to SP in the summer and sat outside so I didn't realize they had live music from 4-7pm...yes I could have found that on their website but I didn't see it. So just a little odd that they have amazing TV's and a bar to watch sports but they had very loud live Jazz type of music...definitely a first for watching football for me. Only other thing about the music was that it was VERY loud...I'm not that old haha but I had a hard time having a conversation with others at my table...just turn it down a level or two.
Onto food...everything was great! Garlic parmesan wings, kind of a dry rub which I prefer, came out crispy and were very good. California burger was cooked to perfection and the bacon on it was amazing. Lastly, the Asian salad was a sold B...great dressing and plenty of oranges but the actual lettuce could have been a little better. Service was on par for a post-covid world and the beers were delicious. I will definitely be back...just might reconsider if I will be watching football!
This was our first time visiting and overall our experience was wonderful. We went the night before Halloween and the servers were dressed u in costumes. There was a band playing that was very entertaining. We got the chicken dumplings, ribs, tavern burger, brownie sundae, and their special peanut butter pie. All the food was delicious. For drinks we had sangria and their seasonal pumpkin espresso martini. We will be back!
Decor and service were 5 stars all around the food however was a disappointment. The pretzel app and beer cheese had an metallic taste to it that was off putting. Fresh out of the freezer and tin can taste. The French onion soup was too salty, had no onions and was served entirely too hot. The buffalo chicken wrap was lacking buffalo sauce and was served with cold, stale French fries. We were excited to try this place and the ambiance and service were great but didn’t make up for the lackluster food.
Servers, Leslie and David very pleasant. Good pour on the drinks. A musical group played very nice music, not too loud and very enjoyable.
Great ambience ! Outside is spectacular and the food is great !
Meh. Love the decor both inside and out, but the food is only so-so and it’s very noisy inside. The pluses are the fire pit tables and the pool table for before/after dinner.
Avoid the cucumber martini and don’t go by the outdated menu on OpenTable. Several items are not on the actual menu at the restaurant.
Told that the fire table not working at the one table left outside
Service was awful. Never checked to see how food was.
Ribs were dry and my tuna tacos were awful.
Band that was supposed to be there cancelled short notice only to find out they cancelled months ago
Never will go back
Very decent food and extensive menu
Great service and welcoming atmosphere
Outdoor dining very pleasant
Recommend this dining venue
Awesome place for an outdoor evening! We sat at one of the firepit tables and had a great night! I had the Fish Taco small plate, which was delicious! The Pineapple Coconut Martinis are quite scrumptious too! Thoroughly enjoyed the live music by Sweet Tea Daddy - loud enough to enjoy, not so loud that you can't carry on a conversation. I will definitely be back again!
We were a party of four and wanted it quiet so we could talk to each other easily. We sat inside on the first level in a booth and it was perfect.
Great as usual
Cool vibe fun place loved it outside !! We will be back !
Great ambiance! Fun vibe- food was good - next time I want to try more appetizers. There was a band - not that good but still enjoyed the night!
My wife’s lobster roll was very shy on lobster and not worth the cost. We had an excellent experience last time we came here and were disappointed with our trip this time. Off our list.
With the music and fire pit tables, it was a lot of fun. The dance area was packed with modern rock fans on their feet.
Sat outside on a beautiful day. Perfect! The service was excellent and food was very good. Would go back again
Great atmosphere! We sat outside and there was live music. Food was very good. All around great evening!
I'm pretty picky but I was pleasantly surprised with my overall experience
Start to finish!
Food and service is the best. Ample of seating inside and outside.
Sat outside. Great atmosphere. Great service. Good very good!
Food was fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. Accommodations made for vegans very appreciated.
Food was just ok
Food was great. Service was very good. We will be back. It was a nice date night with the wife
The waitress was over sat, the band was too loud, the burger was over cooked and the beer was in the wrong glass (under poured). The food tasted good, the food came out quickly, the grounds were nice, the waitress was friendly, I did have to ask her her name, the beer should have been poured in a tulip glass and was the first time but not the second it was poured in some type of flute/Collins glass and I don’t believe it was the correct amount.
Great atmosphere all together and good food. Looking forward to going back and taking advantage of sitting outside by the fire pit.
