Nice food at a hotel restaurant, but a couple things were not what I was expecting. "Waterfront outdoor seating" was clearly not being used by anyone else and had a view of the small hotel pool, not the lake (waterfront was why we chose it). Staff was super sweet but did not give us a menu or inform us that the mimosa or bloody mary was included in the price of the buffet, so we only found out as we were leaving. Price of Father's Day Brunch was comparable to a premier experience, and while the buffet was clearly done with care, the experience was not a good value for the price. For a much lower price point this would have been a nice brunch, but for this price point I would expect more next time.

What a disaster. We dined on a Monday night, when we thought it would be quiet. First we couldn’t find the place because it is a Hotel Restaurant and the hotel doesn’t have a sign. There were incredibly noisy diners at three large tables and we could had to yell to speak to each other. There seems to have been only one or two waiters on. We sat and sat till someone came to wait on us. When they finally came they forgot the specials menu and we waited another 10 minutes till they got back. We ordered an appetizers and two entrees, and for the first time asked for bread. After 20 minutes they came with the appetizers but no bread. I asked again. We are our appetizers and waited about 25 minutes. Finally I got up and asked for our dinners, and bread for the third time. Dinner came and I asked for bread the fourth time. It came halfway through the meal. Then we sat there again for a long time before I got up again to ask for the check. I was thoroughly disgusted with the whole experience. It isn’t really on the water, it’s in a hotel near the pool. The lagoon isn’t really visible from the dining room either. The food wasn’t bad but the rest of the experience was so awful that I hated every minute of it and I’ll never be back.

Went there for breakfast to give it a try. If I was staying at the associated hotel this spot would be great. Going there for breakfast a non guest the food and experience was just mediocre. The American Breakfast was typical and not bad. The house coffee needs some improvement. I am sure the dinner and bar scene is great in the evening. Breakfast is a good for convenience as a hotel guest.

We went here for Valentine's Day dinner and it was a disaster. We spent two hours mostly waiting for our food. Our waiter was almost never anywhere to be seen, and didn't check in until well after we'd finished our entrees. The wait for dessert was especially interminable, and when my wife was finally able to flag down the waiter, it was clear he had just forgotten about it and us. There was never any acknowledgment of a problem. The couple next to us seemed to be having it even worse, and asked to speak to the manager, who comped them based on the fact they were members of the hotel's loyalty program. At least the food was OK.

Had huevros rancheros and it was the absolute worst I have ever had. Must have been a substitute chef that day. The tortilla was a sticky mess and tasted like paste. I barely ate any of the entree. Next time I will have the safe omelette instead. Breakfast used to be awesome here years ago. They had French Press coffee which they stopped serving as it was too much extra effort on the part of the servers. They also used to have egg white frittata which was awesome and they did away with that too. The view is lovely but don’t expect fine food 😬

Great service, easy to get to since we were staying a the hotel. The restaurant was freezing cold which they had no control over but it was very uncomfortable. The food was locally sourced and fresh and creative. Priced just right. Highly recommend it if you are staying at the hotel or near by.

Went here for Christmas dinner as I was thoroughly impressed. The price point is a little high as it is a luxury hotel, but it seems worth it overall. The food was delicious and the cocktails intoxicating. This location used to be a French restaurant before they changed concepts, and it seems the quality and attention to detail has carried over. A very enjoyable experience.

I would definitely give them positive review for ambience, service and wait staff. However, the food has a long way to go. They absolutely destroyed what could’ve been a beautiful piece of sablefish by flooding it in probably 2 cups of oil and it was served in a floating oil miso dilution. That is not how to prepare a fish. I’m not sure where they got their chef from but that is scary. It’s such a shame they don’t have their act together regarding the food. I sure hope it improves.

Food was gross. Turkey tasted processed, not fresh. Water and sodas tasted like they were chlorinated. Chicken Caprese had 1 slice of mozzarella cheese -again, processed, not fresh. Very disappointed. The place looked like it was going to be great and it was like cafeteria food.

First impression: no hostess at the podium. Looked around and the bartender made eye contact. I inquired if it was open seating and he said it was to pick a table. I decided to grab a couple menus. A few minutes later, presumably the hostess stopped by and basically reprimanded us for having sat without checking in. The server arrived reasonably promptly as did our orders of water. I ordered the beet and quinoa salad which I found was more than sufficiently drenched in dressing. My fault for not asking for the dressing in the side. After receding the check and waiting more than necessary I got up with our credit cards to find out server. The restaurant is part of a hotel and has a nice view. Likely a good place for happy hour.

Our waiter, Benny was just great! The charcuterie platter was very generous and beautifully presented. My husband had the Seafood Piri and he said it was one of the best tasting meals he'd ever had. I went lighter with cappelini with squash, broccoli and tomatoes. I was full from the appetizer, but it was very good as well. We had great coffee and split an okay dessert. Nice place and we will go back!

Reviewing for the Mother's Day buffet. Had long wait even with reservation to get seated (30 min). Place was chaotic and server did not come by within first ten minutes of being seated so we just got up and went to the serving stations. Selections overall were good but not particularly impressed by the food. Eggs benedict was getting old in the steam pans, bacon was ok, the carving station ok but meat (prime rib and lamb) tasted livery. I did not try the omelette/crepe station but others enjoyed. Seafood selection was mixed bag. Crab legs and shrimp were a bit off-tasting. They had a poke salad but every time I went up it was empty...only to find it full again returning w/ desert and too full to enjoy. Deserts were ok. Generally servers were absent and had to flag them down if we needed anything. Was shocked at the price $90/adult $40/child and then they added a 19+% buffet service charge on top. I assume that is in lieu of tip but likely not a huge incentive for servers. Have had better brunches for price. Would not go back for this one.

The Mother’s Day Brunch is amazing and delicious! The food quality and preparation is high-end, the live music adds to the wonderful ambiance, and the newly added massages was a great addition to round out the experience. All of this taking place at a top flight Hotel in Redwood Shores! This is our second year, and I am planning to attend to as long as they have it! Oh yeah, the deserts this year were sweet and devine! The choices, such as red velvet cake and cheese cake, were spectacular!

The worst service ever. It took a VERY long while to serve the food and long lapses in between courses, hardly saw the waiter. My soup was brought to me after some people had left and at the very end. I left the soup at the table.

The experience from the start was on point. This was my first time coming here after being recommended by a friend, and I will definitely be back! Walking in the restaurant was very welcoming. We were greeted by the manager Taryn who went out of here way to make sure we enjoyed our time there. She made sure we were seated right away, and while she was very busy guiding her well run ship in the night, she still made time to come talk to us, always offering anything else she could for us. The food here was fantastic from the perfectly cooked octopus appetizer to the best ribeye I have ever had to date.

Extremely disappointing. Only our table and another were dinning at that time. Took forever to get initial contact with the waiter to get drinks, disproportionate time gaps between serving courses. Ordered 4 appetizers for us to nibble on. Never delivered the antipasto plate. When the entrees were eventually served he mentioned forgetting to serve the antipasto and actually asked if we still wanted it after he brought the main course! I ordered the grilled pork chop with extra cherries. The pork chop was literally raw, showed it to him and he took it back to the kitchen with barely an apology. Two folks did not attend so we were only a party of 6. Having worked as a waiter I understand putting a mandatory gratuity on a check for large parties but to see your policy applied to a party of 6 after such poor service was insulting. Adding insult to injury; after dropping over $600 on this bill they refused to validate my valet parking! What a terrible experience overall !!!!

The service here is what really makes this place good for everyday dining. The servers and bartenders are attentive, sociable, and most importantly of great character. Oh yeah; the adult beverages aren’t too bad either. It is pricey for the Shores, but the hotel where this restaurant resides is high scale.
